Hertford Rural District

The White Horse is a public house on the south side of Castle Street, Hertford, England. The pub occupies numbers 31 and 33 Castle Street, two of a group of three grade II listed houses that also includes number 35. The timber-framed buildings date from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries with later additions.The pub is under the management of Fullers Brewery.

Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies (HALS) houses the former Hertfordshire Record Office and the former Hertfordshire Local Studies Library. It collects and preserves archives, other historical documents and printed material relating to the county of Hertfordshire and the Diocese of St Albans from the 11th to the 21st century. HALS is located in Hertford, in the Register Office Block adjacent to County Hall, Hertford, and run by Hertfordshire County Council.

Hertford Castle Weir is a weir located in Hertford near to Hertford Castle and next to Hertford Theatre. Its function is to connect the upper River Lea to the canalised section that runs through Hertfordshire, Essex and London, to the River Thames. The section of the river above Castle Weir is not deep enough to support barges or narrow boats, but is navigable by row boats, canoes and kayaks. The weir marks the start of the River Lee Navigation. It is overlooked by a function room at the Hertford Theatre (previously called Castle Hall).

St Andrew Street, Hertford is the west entry road to Hertford, England. It runs from North Road to Old Cross and includes shops, houses and a church. The history of the buildings on St Andrew Street date back to the 14th century.

Richard Hale School is an 11–18 boys' secondary school located in Hertford in the south east of England. In the 2014–2015 academic year, the school had over 1,000 pupils including students attending the optional sixth form, which is also open to girls.

Bailey Hall is a grade II* listed building in Hertford, Hertfordshire. It was originally a private home, then a school, then offices. It dates from around 1700 with 19th-century additions and is reputed to contain a tunnel, now blocked, to Hertford Castle. A previous house on the site was described as a manor house in 1621.

Prince Albert's Model Cottage was the name given to a model dwelling designed in the mid-19th century to offer an alternative form of accommodation for poor families in England. It was supported by Prince Albert, husband of Queen Victoria.

The Shire Hall is a municipal building in Fore Street, Hertford, the county town of Hertfordshire, England. The building, which currently serves as a Magistrates' Court, is a Grade I listed building.

Hertford Museum is a local museum in Hertford, the county town of Hertfordshire, England.The museum first opened in 1903 and is located in a 17th-century town house with a Jacobean-style knot garden. The galleries on the ground floor present the early history of the museum. Objects include exotic animals, fossils, and Japanese armour. The first floor presents the town and people of Hertford. The collections cover local, military, natural, and social history, as well as archaeology, fine art, and geology.The museum holds approximately 5000 toothbrushes that make up part of the Addis Collection. The Addis factory on Ware Road was a major employer in the town until 1996. Since the closure of the factory, Hertford Museum has received photographs and documents relating to the archive, and collected oral histories from former employees.The museum undertakes educational activities with schools. For example, Little Munden Primary School took part in a pilot project, working with the museum, to create an exhibition about their locality covering the period 1830–1930.The museum closed in Winter 2008 for major refurbishment, largely funded by a Heritage Grant from the UK Heritage Lottery Fund. It reopened on 27 February 2010.
