Frozen Dead Guy Days (started 2002) is an annual celebration held in the town of Nederland, Colorado until 2023 and in Estes Park, Colorado in 2023, to loosely celebrate the cryopreservation of Bredo Morstoel.

Nederland (, NED-ər-lənd) is a statutory town located near Barker Meadow Reservoir in the foothills of southwest Boulder County, Colorado, United States. As of the 2020 United States Census it had a population of 1,471.

The Peak to Peak Scenic Byway is a 55-mile (89 km) National Forest Scenic Byway and Colorado Scenic and Historic Byway located in Gilpin, Boulder, Larimer counties, Colorado, USA. The Peak to Peak Highway was originally built in 1918 and provides views of the Front Range mountains in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. It was Colorado's first scenic highway. The Central City/Black Hawk Historic District is a National Historic Landmark. The Peak to Peak Highway connects to the Trail Ridge Road/Beaver Meadow National Scenic Byway at Estes Park.

Barker Reservoir is a water supply reservoir in the Colorado Front Range located near the town of Nederland, Colorado in southwestern Boulder County. Barker Dam provides water to a downstream hydroelectric power generating facility, and its reservoir provides water to the city of Boulder, Colorado. In 1908, the Central Colorado Power Company began construction of Barker Dam to provide electricity to nearby mining communities and the city of Denver. Completed in 1910, the dam and Barker Reservoir were named for the owner of the land, Mrs. Hannah Connell Barker. Mrs. Barker refused to sell the land to the utility but was eventually forced to do so through a process similar to the contemporary legal procedure of eminent domain. The dam was constructed by hauling concrete and other materials along a specially constructed spur of the Switzerland Trail narrow-gauge railroad, which went bankrupt and was broken up in 1919.In 2001 the city of Boulder purchased the reservoir, dam, and associated facilities. The city operates the reservoir primarily for municipal water supply and secondarily to generate hydroelectric power. An aqueduct with an inlet just below the dam supplies water to Kossler Reservoir. There is then a 1828 foot drop to a hydroelectric plant near the base of Boulder Canyon, several miles downstream.

Lincoln Hills in Gilpin County, Colorado, the United States, was a vacation resort for African-Americans. Lincoln Hills was created in 1922 by E.C. Regnier and Roger Ewalt, and was the only resort for African Americans west of the Mississippi River. Lincoln Hills served as a reprieve from segregation for middle class African-Americans in the 20th century.

Eldora (pronounced el-DOH-ruh), previously known as "Eldorado" then "El-Dora", then Eldora or Camp Eldorado, and still called Happy Valley, is an unincorporated community and a census-designated place (CDP) located in and governed by Boulder County, Colorado, United States. The CDP is a part of the Boulder, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of the Eldora CDP was 140 at the United States Census 2020. The Nederland post office (Zip Code 80466) serves the area.Eldora is located within the Roosevelt National Forest, and is primarily an alpine, densely forested, and densely but smally populated area. Eldora is tucked into the valley carved by glaciation during the last ice age and by Middle Boulder Creek. From the village there are no views up toward the alpine ski runs of Eldora Mountain Resort. A one-time gold camp, Eldora was a shipping point for the Caribou silver mine in nearby Nederland, CO. At present, Eldora is characterized by small cabins, a sprinkling of vacation homes, and two long-shuttered mercantiles. Points of interest near Eldora include the Eldora Mountain Resort, Eldora Historic District, and Indian Peaks Wilderness. Eldora Historic District has been listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places since 1989. The area is home to an abundance of wilderness and wildlife, including animals such as mountain lions, black bears, coyotes, red foxes, mule deer, elk, bobcats, and much more.The elevation of the town is 8,700 ft., and the highest point is 10,800 ft. Eldora receives a heavy annual snowfall of 300 inches each winter.To get to Eldora from Boulder, CO, drive 18 miles west of Boulder on CO 119 to Nederland, CO. Continue through Nederland and turn right at the sign for Eldora. This road is CR 130, also known as Eldora Road. The town center of Eldora is approximately 3 miles from this turn.

Winks Panorama, also known as Winks Lodge, was a hotel near Pinecliffe, Colorado catering to African-American tourists during the early and middle 20th century. The lodge was built in the Lincoln Hills Country Club, which was at the time the only African-American resort in the western United States. The Lincoln Hills club was organized in 1922, selling lots with payments as low as $5.00 down and $5.00 per month. The lodge was built by Obrey Wendell "Winks" Hamlet in 1928. Hamlet had been involved in the original club project, and had been assembling land for a lodge since 1925. The Wall Street Crash of 1929 caused many lots in Lincoln Hills to be abandoned, but Hamlet promoted the lodge nationally through advertisements in Ebony and attracted a clientele from the eastern United States.The hillside lodge used local stone for the foundation, with a three-story shingled superstructure. The first floor was for service and storage, the second for dining and entertainment, and the third included six guest rooms and a shared bath. Several cabins surrounded the main lodge, including a honeymoon cabin and a tavern.Prominent guests included Count Basie, Billy Eckstein, Duke Ellington, Lena Horne, Langston Hughes and Zora Neale Hurston. The lodge operated until Winks' death in 1965. It is now owned by the James Beckwourth Mountain Club, which has undertaken restoration of the lodge as a conference center. Winks Panorama was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 28, 1980. On December 11, 2023, the United States Department of the Interior designated the lodge a National Historic Landmark.

Tungsten is a ghost town in Boulder County, in the U.S. state of Colorado. The former townsite is north of Middle Boulder Creek.

The Gold Miner Hotel or Goldminer Hotel, at 601 Klondyke Ave. in Eldora, Colorado in Boulder County, Colorado, was built in 1898. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997, and the registration's property borders were amended in 2007.A two-story portion of the current hotel, including a front clapboard facade and a porch, is from the original 1899 construction. The clapboard is over squared, milled logs, which are not covered on the sides. A one-story 1934 log addition to the rear is also historic. The squared logs are joined by half-dovetail notching.It is a salient property in the Eldora Historic District, its centerpiece.In 1997 the hotel was operated as a bed and breakfast.

Eldora Historic District is a 30 acres (12 ha) historic district in Eldora, Colorado. Other names of the district and/or other historic names of places in the district are Happy Valley, Eldorado Camp, and 5BL758. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. The listing included 55 contributing buildings and 12 non-contributing ones.The district includes a "collection of late nineteenth and early twentieth-century Log and Rustic Tourist buildings located in the heart of Eldora, a small former mining town in western Boulder County, Colorado. The district consists primarily of dwellings constructed for its early mining population and later adapted for the vacationers who came on a seasonal basis. Additionally, the district contains several turn-of-the century vernacular Commercial Buildings from the mining era and a significant amount of open space, a distinctive component of the district's rural character."A salient contributing building in the district is the Gold Miner Hotel, which is separately listed on the National Register.
