Sarasota Jungle Gardens

Sarasota () is a city in Sarasota County, Florida. It is located in Southwest Florida, the southern end of the Greater Tampa Bay Area, and north of Fort Myers and Punta Gorda. Its official limits include Sarasota Bay and several barrier islands between the bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Sarasota is a principal city of the Sarasota metropolitan area, and is the seat of Sarasota County. According to the 2020 U.S. census, Sarasota had a population of 54,842.The Sarasota city limits contain several keys, including Lido Key, St. Armands Key, Otter Key, Casey Key, Coon Key, Bird Key, and portions of Siesta Key. Longboat Key is the largest key separating the bay from the gulf. The city limits expanded significantly with the real estate rush of the early twentieth century, reaching almost 70 square miles (180 km2). The speculation boom began to crash in 1926 and the city limits began to contract, shrinking to less than a quarter of that area. The city is renowned for its cultural and environmental amenities, beaches, resorts, and the Sarasota School of Architecture.

The U.S. Post Office–Federal Building (also known as the Social Security Building) is a historic site in Sarasota, Florida. It is located at 111 South Orange Avenue. On March 22, 1984, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Crisp Building is a historic office building at 1970 Main St. in Sarasota, Florida. The T. H. Crisp Company, a developer led by Thomas H. Crisp, constructed the building in 1926. The Crisp Company built many of Sarasota's homes and residential developments in the 1920s and 1930s. The building has also served as a meeting hall for Sarasota's chapter of the Loyal Order of Moose. The building was designed in the Mediterranean Revival style and is one of the best-preserved examples of the style in downtown Sarasota.It was designed by Clas & Shepherd and was built by contractors Adair & Sentor.Its original windows were replaced by aluminum ones in 1990. Upper floor interiors were modified in the 1970s; the first floor was renovated during 1990-98. On April 21, 2000, the building was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Scott Commercial Building is a historic building located in Sarasota, Florida at 261 South Orange Avenue.

Downtown Sarasota Historic District is a 19 acres (7.7 ha) historic district in Sarasota, Florida. It is bound by 1st Street, Orange Avenue, State Street, Gulf Stream Avenue and North Pineapple Avenue. On April 9, 2009, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.The historic district consists of 51 buildings. Six contributing properties in the district have been listed individually on the National Register: American National Bank Building DeMarcay Hotel Kress Building Roth Cigar Factory Edwards Theatre Worth's Block.

The Sarasota County Courthouse is a historic courthouse building located in Sarasota, Florida. Designed by architect Dwight James Baum in the Mediterranean Revival style, it was built in 1926-1927 by Stevenson and Cameron, Inc. of New York.

Worth's Block, also known as the Gator Club, is a historic building in Sarasota, Florida. It is located at 1490 Main Street. It was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1998.It is a two-story 25 feet (7.6 m) by 100 feet (30 m) masonry commercial building built in 1912 and modified at different times, including in 1928. Its ground floor was designed for commercial purposes and its second floor was for a residence. As of 1998 its front (north) facade had been restored to its 1912 appearance, with a storefront plus, on the second story, "two sets of paired windows set in segmental arch brick surrounds."

The Appleby Building (also known as the Resurrection House) is a historic site in Sarasota, Florida, United States. It is located at 501-513 Kumquat Court. On June 28, 2001, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Laurel Park Historic District is a historic district in Sarasota, Florida, United States. It is bounded by Morrill Street, Orange Avenue, Brother Geenen Way, Julia Place and Lafayette Court. On March 11, 2008, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Roth Cigar Factory is a historic site in Sarasota, Florida located at 30 Mira Mar Court. The building operated as a cigar factory for Edward and Michael Roth from 1923 to 1938. On March 22, 1984, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Dr. Walter Kennedy House is a historic home in Sarasota, Florida. It is located at 1876 Oak Street. On April 14, 1994, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
