The Horseley Ironworks (sometimes spelled Horsley) was a major ironworks in the Tipton area in the county of Staffordshire, now the West Midlands, England.

Great Bridge South railway station was a station on a link line between the South Staffordshire Line and the Birmingham Snow Hill-Wolverhampton Low Level Line. It served the village of Great Bridge and town of Tipton in Staffordshire, England. It was opened in 1866. As with many passenger stations, it closed during the years of the First World War but reopened in 1920 and remained operational until British Rail closed the station through the Beeching Axe in 1964. Despite another station existing in Great Bridge from 1866, the station was not given the name of South until after nationalisation in 1950. The station site is now a housing estate while much of the railway alignment was reused for the Black Country Spine Road.

Great Bridge is a historic village and district of Tipton in the Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell in the metropolitan county of the West Midlands, England. It is situated near the towns of Dudley, West Bromwich and Wednesbury.

Galton Village is a residential area of Smethwick, West Midlands, England. It takes its name from the iconic nearby Galton Bridge that was named after local business man Samuel Galton whose land the new BCN Main Line (lower level) canal was built through, the canal runs behind Galton Village as does the Stour Valley section of West Coast Mainline. The Oldbury Road runs through the area which begins next to Smethwick’s Galton Bridge railway station and ends at Spon Lane, next to a small shopping centre. The original housing estate on the site of Galton Village, built by the new County Borough of Warley council in the late 1960s, was known as the West Smethwick Estate. This estate consisted of maisonettes and flats which were made from concrete, and earned it the nickname "Concrete Jungle". By the 1980s, many of the flats were empty or in disrepair, and the estate was blighted by unemployment and crime. At the beginning of the 1990s, Sandwell MBC decided to demolish the estate. Between 1992 and 1997, the estate was completely redeveloped. The swathe of concrete buildings had been cleared to make way for modern and attractive low-rise housing. The West Smethwick Estate title was abandoned in favour of Galton Village. Just to the south of Galton Village is West Smethwick and its park; the area sits on the border with West Bromwich to the north and Oldbury to the west. As stated above, the Oldbury Road runs through its heart; this is a collective main thoroughfare the A457 from Birmingham. It is not to be confused with the Galton council estate in neighbouring Oldbury, which was developed during the 1920s and 1930s.

Great Bridge North railway station was a station on the South Staffordshire Line that served the village of Great Bridge and town of Tipton in Staffordshire, England.

The Gower Branch Canal is a half-mile canal at Tividale in England, linking Albion Junction on the Birmingham Level (453 feet above sea) of the Birmingham Canal Navigations, and Brades Hall Junction (sometimes written Bradeshall Junction) on the BCN's older Wolverhampton (473 ft) level, via three locks, the Brades Locks, at the Southern, Brades Hall end. It has a towpath on its eastern side and is crossed by only one road, the A457, just north of the middle lock. The branch is suitable for narrowboats of up to 70 foot length and 7 foot beam. It facilitated travel between the Netherton Tunnel Branch Canal and the BCN Old Main Line, without the need for a long detour to Tipton or Smethwick and back.

Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy (formerly Tividale Comprehensive School, Tividale High School and Tividale Community Arts College) is an academy for secondary aged pupils located in Tividale, Sandwell, in the West Midlands of England. The school was built in 1956 as The Tividale School to serve the expanding Tividale area which by this date had expanded beyond Tipton's borders into Dudley. Since then it has undergone several changes of status and name alongside building expansion. On its opening, it was one of the first comprehensive schools in Britain. From September 2009, the school became an academy sponsored by the Ormiston Academies Trust. The school was then renamed Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy. Today, the school mostly serves pupils living in the Oldbury, Tipton and Rowley Regis areas of Sandwell. In 2013 the academy started a two-year build programme which saw over £10 million spent on a mixture of new build, remodelling and refurbishment as well as enhancing IT provision and student areas. In September 2017, further expansion of the school was completed at the cost of around £2.5 million. As of May 2015, the school is rated as 'Good' by Ofsted, a big improvement on its showings before the academy was created, when the former comprehensive school was consistently among the lowest performing schools in the Sandwell area in terms of exam results and Ofsted inspections. In March 2017, the school was designated as a National Support School by the Department of Education. The school will support other schools facing challenging circumstances. The former Executive Principal, Marie McMahon, was also designated as a National Leader of Education.

West Bromwich West is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2019 by Shaun Bailey, a member of the Conservative Party.Further to the completion of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, the seat will be subject to major boundary changes as a result of the realignment of the boundary between this seat and West Bromwich East, resulting in the loss of the Oldbury and Tividale wards in exchange for the Friar Park and Hateley Heath wards. The reconfigured seat will also include the Borough of Dudley ward of Coseley East from Wolverhampton South East and will be renamed Tipton and Wednesbury, to be first contested at the next general election.

The Shri Venkateswara (Balaji) Temple (grid reference SO980906) is one of the largest functioning Hindu temples in Europe. It is dedicated in the Vaishnava tradition to a form of the Hindu god Vishnu. The temple is located in Tividale, West Midlands, England between the suburbs of Tipton and Oldbury, northwest of Birmingham city. The temple was designed with inspiration from the Tirupati Venkateswara Temple in Andhra Pradesh, India. The temple was consecrated and opened to the general public in August 2006.The primary deity worshiped at this temple is Venkateswara, a well known manifestation of Vishnu. Within the main temple complex are also shrines to his consort Padmavati(Alamelu). The temple also houses shrines to other major Hindu deities Hanuman, Shiva, Karthikeya, Ganesh, Ayappan and the Navagraha.The temple runs the Balaji School for Culture & Education which provides spiritual and cultural foundation for children and arranges classes on Veda (Hindu scriptures), music etc. The temple has a large Community Hall. The temple also provides free Matrimonial service by helps one find a suitable marriage partner.On site facilities include a large community centre, a gatehouse and a Gandhi Peace Centre. The temple operates annadhanam services, providing free meals for visitors funded by donations. Seeing up to 1500 visitors during the weekdays and 2500 visitors in the weekends, the temple does not only cater to the religious and spiritual requirements of Hindus. It receives over one hundred visits from special interest groups all across the UK and Europe, while playing an active role in supporting the community by welcoming school trips, hosting various cultural events and holding classes and teaching sessions in Vedic studies and Sanskrit for young people. The temple is a non-profit organisation and is a recognized charity in the UK.

The Tipton Catastrophe or Dudley Port explosion was a 1922 munitions explosion in the South Staffordshire town of Tipton, England, in which 19 teenaged girls, working in an unlicensed and unsafe factory, died. The works' head manager was imprisoned for manslaughter. Several memorials commemorate the victims.
