Verbier (French pronunciation: [vɛʁbje]) is a village located in south-western Switzerland in the canton of Valais. It is a holiday resort and ski area in the Swiss Alps and is recognised as one of the premier off-piste resorts in the world. Some areas are covered with snow all year. Skiers have settled in the Verbier area in order to take advantage of the steep slopes, varied conditions, and resort culture.

Saxon Castle is a ruined castle in the municipality of Saxon of the Canton of Valais in Switzerland.

Le Châble is a village in Val de Bagnes, Valais, Switzerland, below the ski resort of Verbier. The local St. Bernard Express Train runs from Martigny and finishes in Le Châble. This service is regularly used by tourists from Geneva airport en route to Verbier. Since 1984, Le Châble has had a sister village relationship with Mishicot, Wisconsin.

The International Seminary of Saint Pius X in Écône, Valais, Switzerland, is the premier seminary of the Roman Catholic traditionalist Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX). The seminary is one of the six houses for formation for the future priests of the Society of Saint Pius X. The Seminary was founded in 1970 by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, and his tomb can be found there.

Bagnes is a former municipality in the district of Entremont in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. On 1 January 2021 the former municipalities of Bagnes and Vollèges merged to form the new municipality of Val de Bagnes.With an area of 282 km2 (108.88 sq mi), Bagnes used to be the largest municipality of Switzerland until the formation of Glarus Süd in 2011.

Écône is an area in the municipality of Riddes, district of Martigny, in the canton of Valais, Switzerland. It is the location of the International Seminary of Saint Pius X.

Val de Bagnes is a municipality in the district of Entremont in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. It is named after the eponymous Val de Bagnes.

Saxon railway station (French: Gare de Saxon, German: Bahnhof Saxon) is a railway station in the municipality of Saxon, in the Swiss canton of Valais. It is an intermediate stop on the Simplon line and is served by local trains only.

Col du Lein (el. 1623 m.) is a high mountain pass in the Alps in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. It connects Saxon in the valley of the Rhône with Vollèges in the Val de Bagnes.

Le Châble railway station (French: Gare du Châble), also known as Le Châble VS, is a railway station in the municipality of Bagnes, in the Swiss canton of Valais. It is the eastern terminus of the standard gauge Martigny–Orsières line of Transports de Martigny et Régions. In January 2019, the new station was opened after an extensive reconstruction, which lowered the tracks and platforms by 4.5 meters, bringing them underground. The new station has two tracks. The shorter track 1 is used by local trains to/from Martigny, while the longer track 2 is able to accommodate the Verbier Express trains which run directly to Geneva and beyond on weekends. The valley station for a gondola lift to Verbier is adjacent to the station. Local buses to Bruson, Sarreyer and Verbier serve Le Châble station as well.

La Tzoumaz (formally known as Les Mayens-de-Riddes) is a ski resort in the Swiss Alps, in the canton of Valais. It is part of the "Four Valleys" ski area, which consists of various ski resorts, including Verbier, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, La Tzoumaz, and Thyon. As such it has direct access to over 400 km of runs. Named after the word "tzoumer", meaning taking a break, La Tzoumaz nestles against the same mountain as Verbier, Mont Savolyres, and is at the same altitude (1500m). However, unlike Verbier, it is situated on north-facing slopes and hence enjoys a longer ski-season, lasting from early December all the way through to late-April. The resort has splendid views over the Rhone valley from the side of a small sunny valley on the north side of Verbier. Quieter than Verbier, it is a resort popular with families, having a small ski lift for children, a natural ice rink, a heated swimming pool and the longest sledge run in Western Switzerland (at 10 kilometres). The resort has a population of just over 300 and is popular with British, German and Dutch visitors as well as Swiss nationals.
