Mitchelstown

Mitchelstown Castle, the former home of the Anglo Irish Earls of Kingston, was located in the north County Cork town of Mitchelstown in Ireland.

INDIEPENDENCE is a festival "weekender" which takes place on the outskirts of Mitchelstown in northern County Cork, typically on the August Bank Holiday weekend. The festival features a variety of artists as well as comedy, spoken word, a small cinema and other attractions. INDIE, as it is known, has been shortlisted as one of the best small festivals in Europe several times as well as winning awards within Ireland.

It is situated on the County Cork border and is within 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) of the County Tipperary border. The village is 5 km (3 mi) east of Mitchelstown, the nearest town, and 1 km (0.6 mi) from Junction 12 of the M8 Dublin to Cork motorway. Kilbehenny is home to a medieval cemetery, Kilbehenny Graveyard. The River Funshion flows through the village.

Kilworth GAA, or Cill Úird, is a hurling and Gaelic football club located in the village of Kilworth in the north-eastern corner of County Cork, Ireland. It is affiliated to Cork GAA county board and to Avondhu GAA divisional board.
