The Aherlow River (; Irish: An Eatharlach) is a river in County Limerick and County Tipperary, Ireland.

Kilbehenny (Irish: Coill Bheithne), also Kilbeheny, is a village in County Limerick, Ireland, on the R639 regional road. It is situated on the County Cork border and is within 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) of the County Tipperary border. The village is 5 km (3 mi) east of Mitchelstown, the nearest town, and 1 km (0.6 mi) from Junction 12 of the M8 Dublin to Cork motorway. Kilbehenny is home to a medieval cemetery, Kilbehenny Graveyard. The River Funshion flows through the village.

Galtymore or Galteemore (Irish: Cnoc Mór na nGaibhlte, meaning 'big hill of the Galtees') is a mountain in the province of Munster, Ireland. At 917.9 metres (3,011 ft 6 in), it is one of Ireland's highest mountains, being the 12th-highest on the Arderin list, and 14th-highest on the Vandeleur-Lynam list. Galtymore has the 4th-highest topographic prominence of any peak in Ireland, which classifies Galtymore as a P600, or "major mountain". It is one of the 13 Irish Munros. Galtymore is the highest of the Galty Mountains, or Galtee Mountains, a sandstone and shale mountain range with 24 peaks above 100 metres (330 ft), which runs east-west for thirty kilometres (20 mi) between counties Tipperary and Limerick; Galtymore is the highest point of both counties. The mountain is accessed by hillwalkers via the 3–4 hour Black Road Route, but is also summited as part of the longer 5–6 hour Circuit of Glencushnabinnia, and the at least 10–hour east-to-west crossing of the entire range, called the Galtee Crossing, which is climbed annually in the Galtee Challenge. The mountain and its deep corrie lakes are associated with various Irish folklore tales regarding Saint Patrick and serpents.

INDIEPENDENCE is a festival "weekender" which takes place on the outskirts of Mitchelstown in northern County Cork, typically on the August Bank Holiday weekend. The festival features a variety of artists as well as comedy, spoken word, a small cinema and other attractions. INDIE, as it is known, has been shortlisted as one of the best small festivals in Europe several times as well as winning awards within Ireland.

Galtee Castle was a mansion that was situated on the foothills of the Galtee Mountains at Skeheenarinky in County Tipperary, Ireland approximately 10 km. from Mitchelstown.

Mitchelstown is situated in the valley to the south of the Galtee Mountains, 12 km south-west of the Mitchelstown Caves, 28 km from Cahir, 50 km from Cork, 59 km from Limerick and 10 km from Fermoy. The River Gradoge runs by the town into the River Funshion, which in turn is a tributary of the River Blackwater. The town is best known as a centre for cheese production.
