Grosshorn

The Mittaghorn is a mountain of the Bernese Alps, located on the border between the cantons of Bern and Valais. It is situated in the middle of the Lauterbrunnen Wall.

The Breithorn, (3,780 m) is a mountain of the Bernese Alps, located on the border between the Swiss cantons of Bern and Valais. It is part of the border between Lauterbrunnental and the Lötschental. It lies approximately halfway between the Tschingelhorn and the Grosshorn. The Rock-Tower of the Subpeak Kleines Breithorn (3,554 m) is located south of the Main Peak. The Breithorn is one of two mountains named Breithorn overlooking the Lötschental, the other being the Breithorn (Blatten).

The Lang Glacier (German: Langgletscher) is a 6.6 km (4.1 mi) long glacier (2005) situated in the Bernese Alps in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. In 1973 it had an area of 10.1 km2 (3.9 sq mi).

The Ebnefluh, also known as the Äbeni Flue and the Ebenefluh, (3,962 m) is a mountain of the Bernese Alps, located on the border between the Swiss cantons of Bern and Valais. It lies towards the eastern end of the Lauterbrunnen Wall.

The Schinhorn is a mountain of the Bernese Alps, located west of the Aletschhorn in the canton of Valais. It lies between the valleys of Lötschental (north) and Oberaletsch (south). The Schinhorn has a northeastern Subpeak, the sharp ridge Distlighorn (3,716 m).

The Hollandia Hut (German: Hollandiahütte) is a mountain hut of the Swiss Alpine Club, located east of Blatten in the canton of Valais. The hut lies at a height of 3,240 metres above sea level, just above the Lötschenlücke, the glacier pass connecting the Lötschental from the Aletsch Glacier. All accesses to the hut involve glacier crossing. The Hollandia Hut is a starting point for the ascents of the Ebnefluh, Mittaghorn, Aletschhorn, Sattelhorn, Gletscherhorn and Anungrat.

The Rottal Hut (German: Rottalhütte) is a mountain hut of the Swiss Alpine Club, located south of Lauterbrunnen in the canton of Bern. It lies at a height of 2,755 metres above sea level, above the Rottal Glacier on the western slopes of the Jungfrau. The shortest access is from Stechelberg or Trachsellauenen.

The Lötschenlücke (el. 3153 m.) is a high mountain pass of the Bernese Alps, connecting the Lötschental to the valley of the Aletsch Glacier in the canton of Valais. Both sides of the pass are covered by glaciers: the Langgletscher on the west and the Grosser Aletschfirn on the east. The Lötschenlücke lies between the Mittaghorn on the north and the Sattelhorn on the south. The closest settlement is Fafleralp (east of Blatten) in the Lötschental. There are no settlements in the valley of the Aletsch Glacier. Above the pass, at 3,240 m, lies the Hollandia Hut of the Swiss Alpine Club.

Gimmelwald is a small traffic free village in the Bernese Oberland in the Canton of Bern, Switzerland, and is located between Stechelberg and Mürren, at an elevation of 1363 meters (4472 feet). The village is at the foot of the UNESCO World Heritage site the Jungfrau-Aletsch Protected Area. Gimmelwald is an allemanic linear village and a walser settlement first mentioned in a bill of sale in 1346. Because of its very typical and exceptional townscape, Gimmelwald is part of the inventory of Swiss heritage.Gimmelwald is one of the few traffic-free villages in Switzerland where access by car is not possible due to a missing road connection. The Schilthorn cable car stops in Gimmelwald, where it is possible to board another cable car which runs between Gimmelwald and Mürren. Farming and tourism are the main source of income today. Farmers raise hay on tiny plots of land to feed small herds of cows. In winter, farmers often work as well for the Schilthorn cable car by performing jobs like running ski lifts or ski-slope grooming. In the year 2003 the population of Gimmelwald was 130. The local school closed in 2010 due to the small number of students and students now attend the school in Lauterbrunnen. The school building was bought in 2019 by a cooperative to convert the school building into flats and to prevent it from being used as a holiday flat.

The Sattelhorn is a mountain of the Bernese Alps, overlooking the Lötschenlücke in the canton of Valais. It lies west of the Aletschhorn, between the Lang Glacier and the Oberaletsch Glacier.

The Name Wysshorn stands for three subpeaks of the Schinhorn in the Bernese Alps, which are: Nördliches Wysshorn (3625 m); Mittleres Wysshorn (3545 m); Südliches Wysshorn (3482 m).

The Gletscherhorn (3,983 m) is a mountain of the Bernese Alps, located on the border between the Swiss cantons of Bern and Valais. It forms the eastern edge of the Lauterbrunnen Wall, south of the Jungfrau.
