Pointe de Zinal

Mont Durand (or Arbenhorn) is a mountain in the Swiss Pennine Alps in the canton of Valais. It is located west of the Ober Gabelhorn between the valleys of Zinal and Zmutt. The Glacier Durand flows on its northern side before reaching the larger Zinal Glacier.

The Schönbiel Hut (German: Schönbielhütte) is a mountain hut located north of the Matterhorn. It is situated at 2,694 metres (8,839 ft) above sea level, north of the Zmutt Glacier, a few kilometers west of the town of Zermatt in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. The actual hut was built by the Swiss Alpine Club in 1955, after the demolition of an older hut, built in 1909. The hut is accessible to hikers, from the cable car station of Schwarzsee with a marked trail. It is used to climb the Matterhorn on Zmutt ridge and many other high summits in the area (Dent d'Hérens, Dent Blanche, Ober Gabelhorn, Tête Blanche).

The Dent Blanche Hut (French: Cabane de la Dent Blanche or Cabane Rossier) is a mountain hut of the Swiss Alpine Club, located south of Les Haudères in the canton of Valais. The hut lies at a height of 3,507 metres above sea level, at the foot of the Dent Blanche in the Pennine Alps. The hut, located at the upper end of the valley of Hérens near the watershed with the valley of Zermatt, overlooks the Ferpècle Glacier. All accesses to the hut involve glacier crossing.

The Grand Cornier is a 3,962 m (12,999 ft) mountain in the Pennine Alps in Switzerland. It lies 2 km (1.2 mi) north from the Dent Blanche. The first ascent of the mountain was made via the east ridge by Edward Whymper, Christian Almer, Michel Croz and F. Biner on 16 June 1865. The Mountet hut (2,886 m (9,469 ft)) and Moiry hut (2,825 m (9,268 ft)) are used for the normal ascent routes.

The Zinal Glacier (French: Glacier de Zinal) is a 7 km (4.3 mi) long glacier (2005) situated in the Pennine Alps in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. In 1973 it had an area of 15.4 km2 (5.9 sq mi). The glacier gives birth to the river La Navisence, which runs through a cave.

The Wandfluehorn is a mountain of the Swiss Pennine Alps, located between Les Haudères and Zermatt in the canton of Valais. It lies south of the Dent Blanche. While the western side is flat and covered by the Ferpècle Glacier, the eastern side consists of a 600 metres cliff named Wandflue.

The Ober Gabelhorn (4063 m) is a mountain in the Pennine Alps in Switzerland, located between Zermatt and Zinal.

The Grand Mountet Hut (2,886 m) (French: Cabane du Grand Mountet) is a mountain hut located in the Pennine Alps near Zinal in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. It is used at a start point for the ascents of Besso, Zinalrothorn, Ober Gabelhorn, Trifthorn, Mont Durand, Pointe de Zinal, Grand Cornier and Dent Blanche. The hut was originally built in 1887, but it has been modified and rebuilt a number of times, the latest modification being in 1996. It currently has accommodation for 115 people.Although the hut is located in the middle of glaciers, it is accessible by a trail and frequented by hikers because of the impressive view over the Zinal Glacier and high summits around.

The Zmutt Glacier (German: Zmuttgletscher) is a 6 km (3.7 mi) long glacier (2005) situated in the Pennine Alps in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. In 1973 it had an area of 16.89 km2 (6.52 sq mi).

The Wellenkuppe is a mountain of the Swiss Pennine Alps, located west of Zermatt in the canton of Valais. It lies on the range separating the Val d'Anniviers from the Mattertal, just east of the Ober Gabelhorn.

The Matterhorn Glacier (German: Matterhorngletscher) is a glacier of the Pennine Alps, located at the base of the north face of the Matterhorn (4478m above the sea), south of Zermatt. It has a maximum width of approximately 2.5 km and reaches a minimum height of 2,800 metres. The glacier lies within the basin of the Zmutt Glacier. In 1865, following the first ascent of the Matterhorn, four climbers died in a fall on the way down from the summit. Three of the dead were retrieved several days later on the Matterhorn Glacier, but the remains of Lord Francis Douglas were never found.

The Pointe de Bricola is a mountain of the Swiss Pennine Alps, located south of Les Haudères in the canton of Valais. The east side is covered by the Moiry Glacier.
