Rittmarshausen is a nucleated village in the municipality (Gemeinde) Gleichen in the district Göttingen, Germany. The village of 776 residents (as of December 31, 2005) is primarily agricultural and home of people working in Göttingen. "Ökozentrum Rittmarshausen" is an association dedicated to the development and marketing of regionally produced natural foods, which are marketed under the Leinehöfe label. The community also sports an athletic association, a volunteer fire department, a chorus, a gun club, and an equestrian association.The village mayor is Volker Heinemann.The village's coat of arms is a red shield with a bird sitting on the upper of two yellow horizontal bars, each with three short vertical bars (crenellations).

Bischhausen is a village in the Gemeinde Gleichen in southern Lower Saxony with a population of 366 (as of December 2010). The village is located close to the previous border with what was the GDR and near the peaks called the Gleichen, with their castle ruins. It consists almost entirely of residences - primarily those of farmer families and of commuters to Göttingen. In addition, there is a very small village pond and the Lutheran church of St. Martin with its Late Gothic wooden sculpture. The first mention of the community was in 1152, when it was referred to as Biscopenhusen, "Bishop's houses." The church was built in 1740–42 under the direction of master builder Jost Philipp. In 1971, as part of administrative re-districting, the village was made part of the Gemeinde Gleichen.During the days of the Cold War, the village abutted East Germany, and patrol wagons would drive through the village at night. There was no open crossing in this part of Germany, so the village was almost devoid of traffic not ending or starting there. The mayor is Michael Dusch.

Sattenhausen is a village in the north-western part of the Gleichen in the Göttingen district of Lower Saxony, Germany. It had 563 residents as of the end of 2005. That number had dropped to 532 by the end of 2012 (488 of them with the main seat of residence as the village).The village lies surrounded by farm fields in turn surrounded by forested hills. The nearest neighboring villages are Falkenhagen about a kilometer to the north and Wöllmarshausen slightly more distant to the south, each of which is about two kilometers distant. The city of Göttingen is about seven kilometers to the west. The community's visual image is characterized by half-timbered houses and the village's late medieval church tower's defensive structure.

The village is located at the foot of the twin hills called the Gleichen. The small community has a pond next to its "Bürgerhaus." The mayor is Gerhard Nolte. The most famous person associated with Gelliehausen is Gottfried August Bürger, an eighteenth-century poet who lived there for a while.

Benniehausen is a village in the Gemeinde Gleichen in southern Lower Saxony. The village of 349 residents (in 2010) is located in the Gartetal {valley} on the old trade route between Göttingen and Duderstadt, lying some eight kilometers south-west of the former city. Construction of the village's half-timbered church began in 1779. The community has a prize-winning volunteer fire department. Community organizations include a senior citizens club (Altenclub Benniehausen). Benniehausen and the surrounding area have been inhabited since the Paleolithic. In nearby Niedeck, there is the ruin of an ancient fort, which was excavated in the 1990s The mayor is Dirk Otter.

The Bleicherode Hills (German: Bleicheröder Berge or Bleicheroder Berge) in the counties of Nordhausen and Eichsfeld in North Thuringia are the east-southeastern foothills of the Ohm Hills in the Lower Eichsfeld. They reach a maximum height of 460.8 m above sea level (NHN) at the summit of the Ziegenrück. Together with the Ohm Hills they cover an area of about 76 km² of which the Bleicherode Hills make up roughly 16 km² of the total landscape area.
