College of William & Mary School of Education

Williamsburg Community Hospital was located on Mt. Vernon Ave. in Williamsburg, Virginia, and served the community from 1961 until 2006. In August 2006, it was replaced by a newer and larger facility, the 139-bed Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center, located in adjacent York County, Virginia. After patients and equipment were transferred, the vacant older facility was donated to a long time neighboring organization, the College of William and Mary. In the fall of 2006, the college announced plans to build a new School of Education on the site, which is located about one mile from the Historic Area of Colonial Williamsburg.

The Millie West Tennis Facility, formerly called the Busch Tennis Courts, are the tennis courts used by the College of William and Mary’s tennis teams during the outdoor season. The facility is named after Millie West, a contributor of over 50 years to William & Mary athletics. The original name for the small stadium came from Anheuser-Busch, formerly the largest American brewer. Anheuser-Busch has a large presence in the Williamsburg area, including a brewery and the theme park Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Adjacent to the Busch Tennis Courts is Busch Field, also sponsored by the company. There are eight tennis courts all together, each one of them being a hard court. A unique feature to its design are the “California Corners”, which includes quarter fences that run along the sidelines to allow uninterrupted play.

Kaplan Arena is a building used for athletic events for the William & Mary Tribe sports teams at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. The building contains an 8,600-seat arena, which can seat 11,300 with extra bleachers. The arena's floor measures almost 24,000 square feet (2,200 m2). The building was formerly known as William & Mary Hall. From 2005 to 2016, only the arena proper was called Kaplan Arena, before the entire building was renamed to honor alumni Jane Thompson Kaplan and Jim Kaplan.The building's lower level houses the coaching and staff offices for the school's athletic department. It also hosts a seminar room, medical suite, and a gymnastics workout area. Completed in 17 months by the Southeastern Construction Company of Charlotte, North Carolina, the building cost $5.3 million but was financed by state revenue bonds.

The Jimmye Laycock Football Center (JLFC) is a football facility for The College of William & Mary Tribe in Williamsburg, Virginia, USA. The $11 million, 30,000-square-foot (2,800 m2) building was constructed right next to Zable Stadium where the Tribe play all home games. The facility is named after William & Mary's most successful football coach Jimmye Laycock, and the cost of the project was funded entirely through private donations. The JLFC was dedicated on June 21, 2008, and among those in attendance were former William & Mary wide receiver and present Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin (Class of 1994), former Buffalo Bills head coach Marv Levy, then-Virginia Tech Hokies football head coach Frank Beamer, and former William & Mary athletic director Jim Copeland.

The Alumni House, formerly known as the Bright House, is a 19th-century building located on the College of William & Mary's campus in the middle of historic Williamsburg, Virginia. The home was originally situated on a farm called "New Hope" owned by Samuel Bright and his family and at that time on the outskirts of the town.

Walter J. Zable Stadium at Cary Field, named for Walter J. Zable, former member of the College of William & Mary Board of Visitors, is located in Williamsburg, Virginia and is the home of the William and Mary Tribe football team. It is located centrally in the William & Mary campus, adjoining the Sadler Center (formerly the University Center) building and situated on Richmond Road. The stadium is used for football and track & field. It has an official capacity of 12,672 fans. The attendance figures for William and Mary football games are usually inexact, however, since students are not counted among the official results in an accurate fashion. The area of Cary Field behind the stadium was the baseball field for William and Mary until the opening of Plumeri Park in 1999.

The Earl Gregg Swem Library (colloquially Swem Library) is located on Landrum Drive at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. The library is named for Earl Gregg Swem, College Librarian from 1920-1944. In 2008, the Princeton Review rated William & Mary's library system as the eighth best in the United States. The ranking was based on a survey of 120,000 students from 368 campuses nationwide.

The William & Mary Police Department (WMPD) is a nationally accredited police department with jurisdiction over the College of William & Mary located in Williamsburg, Virginia, United States. The department's accreditation with the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission was awarded on February 9, 2001. The department was again accredited in 2019. The department is located on campus in the office area of the parking garage at 201 Ukrop Way near Swem Library. Its emergency response operates 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. As of 2009, the department had 20 full-time police officers, 2 part-time police officers, and 1 Auxiliary Officer. The officers are complemented in their duties by five dispatchers and 1 unarmed security officer. The department also employs one investigator. On September 15, 2014, Deborah Cheesebro became the first female police chief in William & Mary's 321-year history. In 2008, the department received 4 M16 rifles through the United States Department of Defense's Excess Property Program. After the Ferguson unrest, the program's dispersal of combat equipment to local police came under scrutiny. The process to return the four automatic rifles, which the officers never trained with or used, was initiated shortly after Cheesbro became police chief; the rifles were returned in April 2015. In 2020, Cheesebro was elected president of the Virginia Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators. In January 2023, Cheesebro announced she would retire in spring that year. In April 2018, the Williamsburg Police Department and Tri-Rivers Drug Task Force arrested ten people as part of a drug crime investigation. Among them were eight students and a professor. WMPD reported that it was not made aware of the investigation until after the arrests had taken place. In November 2023, Don Butler was selected as the chief of the WMPD; he had served as interim chief since June 1 that year. Butler joined the department in 2012. WMPD officers have jurisdiction and legal authority on all university-owned property and work closely and share jurisdiction with the Williamsburg Police Department, the James City County Sheriff's Department and other law enforcement agencies.

The Crim Dell bridge is a wooden bridge on the College of William & Mary’s campus in Williamsburg, Virginia, United States and is considered one of the College's most scenic areas. Crim Dell itself is actually the pond that the bridge crosses over, but the bridge is commonly referred to as Crim Dell.

The First Baptist Church is a historic church at 727 Scotland Road in Williamsburg, Virginia. It is a brick Colonial Revival structure, built in 1956 to a design by Norfolk architect Bernard Spigel. It is of only two known church designs by Spigel.

Phi Beta Kappa Memorial Hall is a multi-use building on the campus of the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, United States. It contains the largest auditorium on the campus, containing two floors of seating. The building is home to art shows, musical acts, theatre, assemblies and guest speakers.

The Muscarelle Museum of Art is a university museum affiliated with the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. While the Museum only dates to 1983, the university art collection has been in existence since its first gift – a portrait of the physicist Robert Boyle – in 1732. Most early gifts to William & Mary relate to its history or the history of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Gifts of portraiture were the foundation of the early collection and include many First Families of Virginia (FFV) including sitters from the Page, Bolling and Randolph families.
