Klæbu

Klæbu is a village in Trondheim Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village is located on the eastern shore of the river Nidelva, about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) east of the village of Tanem and about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) south of the city of Trondheim. The village sits at the junction of Norwegian county roads 805 and 921. The historic Klæbu Church is located in the village. The village was the administrative centre of the old Klæbu Municipality prior to 2020 when it was merged into Trondheim. The 1.58-square-kilometre (390-acre) village has a population (2018) of 3,354 and a population density of 2,123 inhabitants per square kilometre (5,500/sq mi).The newspaper KlæbuPosten is published in Klæbu.

Klæbu Church (Norwegian: Klæbu kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Trondheim municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the village of Klæbu. It is the church for the Klæbu parish which is part of the Heimdal og Byåsen prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The white, wooden church was built in an octagonal style in 1790 by the architect Lars Larsen Forsæth. The church seats about 330 people.

Bratsberg Church (Norwegian: Bratsberg kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Trondheim municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the Bratsberg area southeast of the city of Trondheim and east of Heimdal. It is one of the churches for the Nidelven parish which is part of the Strinda prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The white, wooden church was built in a cruciform style in 1850 by Ole Henriksen using plans drawn up by the architect Hans Linstow. The church seats about 220 people.

Tanem is a village in the municipality of Trondheim in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located between Nidelva river and Vassfjellet approximately 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) west of the village of Klæbu which sits on the other side of the river. The 0.45-square-kilometre (110-acre) village has a population (2018) of 1,273 and a population density of 2,829 inhabitants per square kilometre (7,330/sq mi). Tanem's population has been growing rapidly. The Tanem village itself and surrounding areas provides few employment opportunities and most of the residents of Tanem commute to Trondheim to work.

Jonsvatnet shooting range, Norwegian Jonsvatnet skytebane, can refer to a set of shooting ranges that together makes up for the largest civilian shooting range complex around the city of Trondheim in Norway. The ranges of Nidaros Skytterlag, Trondheim Jeger- og Fiskerforening, and Trondhjems Pistolklubb are situated close to each other at the north end of Digresmyra wetlands, while the range of Nidaros Jaktskytterklubb is on the south end of Digresmyra.

Tiller is a former municipality in the old Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. The 24-square-kilometre (9.3 sq mi) municipality of Tiller existed from 1899 until its dissolution in 1964. The municipality encompassed part of the south-central part of what is now the municipality of Trondheim in Trøndelag county. The municipality was generally located between the river Nidelva in the east and the Dovrebanen railway line. The administrative centre was located at Heimdal, on the western edge of the municipality. The local Tiller Church was built shortly after the creation of the municipality (1901) to serve its residents.

Jonsvatnet is a lake in Trøndelag county, Norway. Most of the lake is in the eastern part of the municipality of Trondheim, with a very small part of the shoreline belonging to Malvik municipality. The lake is the main source for drinking water for the city of Trondheim.

Vassfjell Chapel (Norwegian: Vassfjellkapellet) is a chapel in Trondheim municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in a rural area northeast of the mountain Vassfjellet, about 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) west of the village of Tanem. There is no direct road access to the chapel, but there is a 1-kilometre (0.62 mi) long hiking path from a parking lot located on the road to the north. It is an annex chapel for the Klæbu parish which is part of the Heimdal og Byåsen prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1974 by the architect students Steinar Romedal, Jan Oddvar Hareide, I. Tolo, and O. Holen.

Estenstadmarka is a hilly, forested area east-southeast of the city center of Trondheim in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is mainly used for recreation by the population of Trondheim. There are several gravel tracks, and electrically lit tracks for cross country skiing in the winter season. There are also several lakes, and a cabin (Estenstadhytta, 329 m.a.s.l.). There is a fine view over the city and fjord below from the Månen viewpoint. Estenstadmarka is bounded by the lake Jonsvannet in the east. The NTNU campus at Dragvoll is located near Estenstadmarka.

Trondheim Airport, Jonsvatnet (Norwegian: Trondheim sjøflyplass, Jonsvatnet) was a water aerodrome located at Valset on the lake of Jonsvatnet in Trondheim, Norway. The airport was built as the first permanent airport serving Trondheim and initially was used for Norwegian Air Lines' (DNL) routes which commenced in 1935. Ahead of the 1936 season the airport was equipped with permanent installations, including wharfs and a small terminal building. In 1937 the airport was used by Widerøe, before DNL returned the following year. During World War II the airport was taken over by the Luftwaffe, which used the ice on the lake as an airfield. Two aircraft which sank when the ice thawed were raised in 2004. Jonsvatnet was expanded and became a reserve airport for Trondheim Airport, Hommelvik, and Trondheim Airport, Ilsvika. After the war ended the airport was largely left unmaintained, but was variously used by DNL and later Vestlandske Luftfartsselskap as a reserve airport until 1957. The aviation club Trondheim Flyklubb reopened the airport in 1967 and remained there until 2013, when the airport was closed, since the airport's existence was incompatible with Jonsvatnet serving as the main source of drinking water for Trondheim.

It is the church for the Tiller parish which is part of the Heimdal og Byåsen prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1901 by the architect Johan Kunig. The church seats about 200 people.
