Barley End is a hamlet within the parish of Pitstone(where the 2011 Census population was included) in Buckinghamshire, England.

Ashridge Commons and Woods is a 640.1 hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. It is located in Little Gaddesden, and is part of the National Trust Ashridge Estate in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.This site is mainly semi-natural vegetation, with has extensive areas of woodland, grass and scrub. There are many species of breeding birds, including some which are rare nationally, such as firecrests. Other species which are locally rare are common redstart, nightingale and wood warbler. There are a number of small ponds which support populations of amphibians and invertebrates.The entrance to the Ashridge Estate is in Moneybury Hill, Ringshall.

Aldbury () is a village and civil parish in Hertfordshire, England, near the borders of Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire in the Bulbourne valley of the Chiltern Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The nearest towns are Tring and Berkhamsted. Uphill from the narrow valley are the Bridgewater monument and the Ashridge Estate, a country estate owned and managed by the National Trust. Aldbury is designated as a conservation area, with most of the land surrounding the village unaltered since the late medieval period. The village is a popular filming location, retaining several archetypical historical features: in the centre is a green and pond; close by stand well-preserved stocks and a whipping-post, and the Church of Saint John the Baptist. The village has a lively community life, including a number of local societies and clubs. Residents are kept updated on village events through the Aldbury Outlook, a magazine published by local residents ten times a year. It has a village shop and post office, two pubs, two cafes, a Church of England primary school, a sports ground and tennis court, as well as the nearby Stocks Golf Club. Aldbury's picturesque setting and proximity to Tring railway station makes it one of the most desirable places to live in Hertfordshire. It has been referred to as a "chocolate-box" village due to its traditional appearance.

On 6 January 1954 WJ474 a twin-engined Vickers Valetta training aircraft of No. 2 Air Navigation School Royal Air Force crashed near RAF Bovingdon just after takeoff in bad weather.

Stocks Manor House is a large Georgian mansion, built in 1773. It is the largest property in the village of Aldbury, Hertfordshire. Stocks House and its manorial farm is an 182-acre (0.74 km2) estate surrounded by 10,000 acres (40 km2) of National Trust Ashridge Forest and the Chiltern Hills. It takes its name from the old famous stocks of the medieval village of Aldbury just down the road.

Ashridge Golf Club, also Ashridge Artisans Golf Club, is a golf club in Little Gaddesden, on the border of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, England, 2.5 miles south along the B4506 road from Dagnall, Buckinghamshire, and five miles northwest of Berkhamsted. It was established in 1932 on the Ashridge Estate. The club has hosted the numerous PGA events and hosted the Open Championship' Regional Qualifying Competition for six years between 2003 and 2008. The course measures 6,663 yards. A new clubhouse was built to accommodate for the Open Championship qualifiers in 2003. Sir Henry Cotton was a Professional at the club in the late thirties during which time he won the 1937 Open at Carnoustie. The 337 yard 9th is nicknamed "Cottons" in his honour. Between 1964 and 1976, former golfer and golf commentator Alex Hay spent 12 years as Professional at the club.

Aldbury Nowers is a 19.7 hectares (49 acres) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in the Chiltern Hills, north-east of Tring in Hertfordshire. The site was notified in 1990 under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. It is managed by the Hertfordshire and Middlesex Wildlife Trust. The site, formerly known as "Duchie's Piece," comprises two areas of hillside, linked by The Ridgeway. The calcareous meadow element of the site hosts the flowers of chalk grassland and has butterfly habitats with thirty-four different species of butterfly recently recorded, including the Duke of Burgundy, hairstreaks and the Essex skipper. The site also includes a "beech hanger", a type of upland ancient woodland, and is considered one of the best examples of this feature in Hertfordshire.Archaeological features on the site are two sections of Grim's Ditch, part of a 30-kilometre (19 mi) linear earthwork thought to originate in the Iron Age, and two bowl barrows, from either the Late Neolithic or the Bronze Age periods.Northwest of the village of Aldbury, it adjoins the Pitstone Hill SSSI in Buckinghamshire and provides views over the Tring Gap and Vale of Aylesbury.The site is always open and there is access by a footpath from Northfield Road.

Ivinghoe Hills is a 210.4 hectares (520 acres) Site of Special Scientific Interest in Ivinghoe in Buckinghamshire, and part of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is listed in A Nature Conservation Review. The Ridgeway long-distance footpath ends and the Icknield Way Path starts in the site on Ivinghoe Beacon. An Iron Age fort on Ivinghoe Beacon and a tumulus on Gallows Hill are Scheduled Monuments. The site is part of the National Trust's Ashridge Estate, apart from a small area which belongs to Buckinghamshire County Council.The site is biologically rich, and it has varied habitats including unimproved chalk grassland, which has some nationally rare species, semi-natural woodland and scrub. Some of the grassland is grazed by sheep and cattle. There are two areas of ancient woodland. An area of ploughed land on Gallows Hill has been retained within the SSSI because some of the weeds are nationally scarce.There is access from the National Trust car park off the B488 road.

Ringshall is a hamlet in the Chiltern Hills of England. It is located on the border of the counties of Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire; parts of the village lie in the civil parishes of Edlesborough and Ivinghoe in eastern Buckinghamshire, while the rest of the village is mainly within the parish of Little Gaddesden (where the population was included) in the west of Hertfordshire. Ringshall lies within the HP4 postcode and the postal address designated by Royal Mail is "Ringshall, Berkhamsted".

Pitstone Hill is a 22.9-hectare (57-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Importance east of Pitstone in Buckinghamshire. It is in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is crossed by the Ridgeway National Trail.The site is chalk grassland on a steeply sloping hill, with small areas of woodland and scrub. The richest areas botanically are the lower and steeper slopes, with plants including the nationally scarce pasque flower and field fleawort. Twenty-six species of butterfly have been recorded, and breeding birds include skylarks, meadow pipits and willow warblers.There is access from Stocks Road.

Cow Roast (sometimes written as Cowroast) is a hamlet within the civil parishes of Northchurch and Wigginton in Hertfordshire, England. It is between Tring and Berkhamsted, along the A4251, adjacent to the Grand Union Canal and the West Coast Main Line. Today it comprises a row of 20th-century houses and a marina, together with several older properties including a restaurant (which previously operated as a public house, until its closure in September 2017). There are three car dealerships and a petrol station beside the main road. Cow Roast is located on the site of a Romano-British settlement, close to the route of Akeman Street.

Dudswell is a hamlet in South West Hertfordshire, England, between the towns of Tring and Berkhamsted. It is 2 miles (3.2 km) north-west of Berkhamsted, just off the A4251. It is close to the Grand Union Canal and also the Northchurch tunnel on the West Coast Main Line. It is in the civil parish of Northchurch. Dudswell is linked with the neighbouring hamlet of Cow Roast by Wharf Lane and by the Grand Union Canal. The River Bulbourne is a chalk stream which runs in a south-easterly direction for 7 miles (11km) from its source between Cow Roast and Dudswell, joining the River Gade at Two Waters in Apsley.
