Kingwood Township School District

Kingwood Township is a township in Hunterdon County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, located on the Hunterdon Plateau. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 3,802, a decrease of 43 (−1.1%) from the 2010 census count of 3,845, which in turn reflected an increase of 63 (+1.7%) from the 3,782 counted in the 2000 census.

Frenchtown Solar is a group of three photvoltaic arrays, or solar farms, in Kingwood Township, about 3 miles east of namesake Frenchtown, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. Two arrays are located just outside the village of Baptistown on New Jersey Route 12 The third and largest is to the south, off County Route 519.The power station was developed in conjunction with Con Ed Development. It interconnects to Jersey Central Power and Light, which in turn in is part of the PJM Interconnection. Flemington Solar is a similar project located in adjacent Raritan Township.

Baptistown is located on New Jersey Route 12, approximately three miles (4.8 km) east of Frenchtown. The township's municipal offices are located in Baptistown just north of the center of the community.

The Thatcher House is a historic brick house located in Kingwood Township, about two miles from Frenchtown, in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. It is named after Jeremiah Thatcher (d. 1790), a local farmer. Built in 1765, the house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 4, 2020, for its significance in architecture. It features patterned brickwork with complex diamonds.

Lockatong Creek is a 15.6-mile-long (25.1 km) tributary of the Delaware River in Hunterdon County, New Jersey in the United States.Lockatong is derived of a Munsee phrase — lokatink, or “place of wheat meal".

The Old Stone Church is a historic sandstone church located in Kingwood Township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. It was built in 1837 and is now owned by the First Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Hunterdon County. The church, described using its historic name, Old Stone Presbyterian Church in Kingwood, was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 25, 2018 for its significance in architecture. The earlier church located here was a smaller stone building built in 1755, called the Old Stone Meetinghouse. The stones from this church were probably used to build the current one. The Kingwood congregation was established in 1728 and grew during the First Great Awakening, with Gilbert Tennent and George Whitefield preaching here in 1739.The Oak Summit School, located next to the church, is a one-room schoolhouse that was established in 1849 and used until 1953. The building is not part of this NRHP listing.

Locktown Baptist Church is a historic church in Locktown (Delaware Township), Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. It was built in 1819 and added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 15, 1974.

Frenchtown is a borough in Hunterdon County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Frenchtown is located along the banks of the Delaware River on the Hunterdon Plateau, 32 miles (51 km) northwest of the state capital of Trenton. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 1,370, a decrease of three people (−0.2%) from the 2010 census count of 1,373, which in turn reflected a decline of 115 (−7.7%) from the 1,488 counted in the 2000 census.

The Nishisakawick Creek is a 9.6-mile-long (15.4 km) tributary of the Delaware River in Hunterdon County, New Jersey in the United States. The headwaters of the Nishisackawick begins in forested wetlands in Alexandria Township and it flows through Camp Marudy Lake, past Camp Marudy, and through Everittstown on its way southwest past farms and developed land joins the Delaware at Frenchtown. The Little Nishisakawick springs from wetlands in Kingwood Township and flows approximately 4 miles southwest through mostly agricultural land gently dropping to the Delaware River. Nishisackawick is thought to originate from a Unami word — neschi-sakquik, meaning “double outlet or mouth".

The Frenchtown School District is a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade from Frenchtown, in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States.As of the 2021–22 school year, the district, comprised of one school, had an enrollment of 109 students and 14.2 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 7.7:1. In the 2016–17 school year, Frenchtown was tied for the 18th-smallest enrollment of any school district in the state, with 129 students.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "FG", the fourth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.Public school students in ninth through twelfth grades attend the Delaware Valley Regional High School in Frenchtown, which serves students in western Hunterdon County from Alexandria, Holland and Kingwood Townships along with the boroughs of Frenchtown and Milford. As of the 2021–22 school year, the high school had an enrollment of 719 students and 62.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.5:1.
