Bancroft's School is a co-educational private day school located in Woodford Green, London Borough of Redbridge. The school currently has around 1,000 pupils aged between 7 and 18, around 200 of whom are pupils of the Preparatory School and 800 of whom are pupils of the Senior School. The school's alumni – or "Old Bancroftians" – include naturalists, poets, academics, politicians, authors, sportsmen, actors, and military figures. These include two recipients of the Victoria Cross – Britain's highest military award for gallantry. They are Robert Edward Cruickshank and Augustus Charles Newman. In recent years these have included Lord Pannick KC, Alan Davies, Hari Kunzru, Russell Lissack, YolanDa Brown and Andy Saull.

Woodford Green Preparatory School is a preparatory school in Woodford Green, London. It was founded in 1932 to provide a non-denominational Christian education for boys and girls. The first headmistress was Norah Kathleen Read. The current headmaster is Lisa McDonald.

St Barnabas' Church, Woodford Green, is a Church of England church in Snakes Lane East, Woodford, London. It had its origins in a 1904 iron mission church – this was attached to St Paul's Church, Woodford. A permanent church was built between 1910 and 1911, with a lady chapel, organ chamber, chancel and two bays of an aisled nave – the nave was completed in 1964. The church was designed by E T Dunn, who also designed St Luke's Church, Ilford, and produced a proposed design for a new chapel screen at St Peter's Church, Bethnal Green. Parts of the parishes of St Paul's, All Saints Church, Woodford Wells, and Holy Trinity Church, South Woodford, were combined to form the new parish of St Barnabas in 1911.

Woodford Green is an area of Woodford in East London, England, within the London Borough of Redbridge. Epping Forest runs through Woodford Green in the west of the area, 9.4 miles (15.1 km) north-east of Charing Cross. It was a hamlet in the ancient parish of Woodford, in the historic county of Essex, becoming an urban district in 1894. For administrative purposes, this merged with the Wanstead Urban District to form the Wanstead and Woodford Urban District in 1934. In 1965, the urban district became part of the London Borough of Redbridge.

Woodford Wells is a small settlement on the edge of Epping Forest, in Woodford, East London. The area lies about 9.5 miles (15.3 km) north-east of Charing Cross. The name is shown in the Chapman and Andre 1777 map of Essex, and shortly after on an Ordnance Survey map of 1805; the name refers refers to mineral water wells. In the 18th century briefly the hamlet was a small spa but by the 1870s the wells had been long neglected and Woodford Wells had become part of a "straggle of hamlets". Among its notable features is the Horse & Well, a 17th-century coaching inn still in operation. Woodford Wells is home to Woodford Wells F.C.

Woodford was a local government district in the county of Essex, England from 1873 to 1934, corresponding to the London suburb of Woodford.The parish of Woodford St Mary adopted the Local Government Act 1858 in 1873, setting up a local board of nine members. The Local Government Act 1894 reconstituted its area as an urban district, governed by an urban district council. St Mary's church is a thriving Anglican parish today. It was amalgamated with Wanstead Urban District in 1934 to form Wanstead and Woodford Urban District and now forms the northwestern part of the London Borough of Redbridge in Greater London.

Woodford County High School For Girls, formerly Woodford County High School (WCHS) is a secondary all-girls selective grammar school in Woodford Green of the London Borough of Redbridge, England. The school was opened in 1919. Woodford County's brother school for boys is Ilford County High School. Woodford County High School has seven Years (7–13) . To gain a place in the lower school, children take the 11-plus exam via the local authority, the London Borough of Redbridge. Redbridge offer the top 180 girls from the 11-plus exam results a place at Woodford County High School where, upon entry, girls are allocated to one of 6 individual 'forms' of 30 students each. Every student for Years 7-13 is part of a different school 'house'. These houses are Repton (blue), Warner (yellow), Highams (green) and Newton (red). There are many roles that students are encouraged to volunteer for within the day-to-day running of the school, including representation of peers on the 'school council' and becoming 'Silver Badges' (Y12/13 6th Formers with additional responsibilities). 6th Form (Y12/13) places at the school are highly sought after, and applications to attend 6th Form are open to those who have attended schools other than Woodford County High School in Years 7 to 11. This school offers a wide range of GCSE subjects, including Classical Civilisation, psychology, and business studies, among many others.Although the school is part of the Borough of Redbridge school system, the school buildings themselves are located in the London Borough of Waltham Forest.

St Thomas of Canterbury Church is a Roman Catholic parish church in Woodford Green, Woodford, London. It was built from 1895 to 1896, was designed by Alexander Scoles and has been served by the Franciscan Order of Friars Minor since its foundation. It is located on Woodford Green road next to Trinity Catholic High School. It was funded by Henrietta Pelham-Clinton, Duchess of Newcastle, who also paid for the friary, a primary school, a school for girls, a house for the Poor Servants of the Mother of God, and is buried in the church.

St Mary's Church, Woodford is the ancient parish church for Woodford in east London, on the High Road in what is now South Woodford in the London Borough of Redbridge. It is known to have existed by the 12th century. Its rector in the 1520s was John Larke. Its medieval west tower and spire were in dangerously poor repair by 1705 and in 1708 it was replaced with a brick tower The medieval church was substantially rebuilt in brick in the Gothic style in 1816. Population expansion led to the construction of the new churches of St Paul's in 1854 and All Saints in 1874, both within the parish. Prior to a 1969 arson attack, the interior of St Mary's contained several wall monuments and tombs, including the tomb of Bridget, widow of Alexander Staples and eldest daughter of Sir John Ernle, Chancellor of the Exchequer to Charles II and James II. The current interior is modern. The church is fitted with a 3-manual Grant, Degens and Bradbeer Organ which was built at a similar time to the organ of New College Oxford. The church was completely rebuilt in 1971-72.The churchyard hosts one of the Great Trees of London, a Copper Beech.

South Woodford is an area of East London, England, within the London Borough of Redbridge. It adjoins Woodford Green to the north, Walthamstow to the west, Snaresbrook and Wanstead to the south and Redbridge to the east, and is 8.9 miles (14.3 km) north-east of Charing Cross. Epping Forest runs adjacent to South Woodford in the west of the area.
