Port Maria

The Otram River, formerly the Port Maria River or the Port Maria Western River, is a river in Saint Mary Parish, Jamaica. It reaches the sea in the parish capital of Port Maria and contributes to flooding in that town.It is joined at Trinity by the Negro River, where an aqueduct, completed in 1797, of over a mile's length once drew water from the Otram to supply Trinity sugar plantation there.

The Pagee River rises on the south eastern flank of Berry Hill (a 1,655 ft (504 m) summit) just below the 1,000 ft (300 m) contour at 18.29488°N 76.92817°W / 18.29488; -76.92817 near Crawle Pen in Saint Mary. It reaches the sea 14 miles (23 km) later at Pagee Beach (18.36845°N 76.87935°W / 18.36845; -76.87935) also in Saint Mary.

Galina Lighthouse is a strongly tapered white concrete tower 13 metres (43 ft) high with no lantern. A solar-powered lens is mounted on a small platform at the top. It shows a white light flashing once every twelve seconds for a duration of 1.2 seconds followed by 10.8 seconds of darkness. The light is visible for 19 kilometres (12 mi). The lighthouse is solar powered.The station was established in 1912 but the tower's date of construction is unknown.It is maintained by the Port Authority of Jamaica, an agency of the Ministry of Transport and Works.

Saint Mary is a parish located in the northeast section of Jamaica. With a population of 114,227 it is one of Jamaica's smallest parishes, located in the county of Middlesex. Its chief town and capital is Port Maria, located on the coast. It is also the birthplace of established dancehall reggae artists, such as Capleton, Lady Saw, Ninjaman, Sizzla, and Tanya Stephens. Other notable residents of St. Mary parish include bestselling author Colin Simpson, who is the great-great grandson of noted slavery abolitionist James Phillippo, famed Jamaican writer and community activist Erna Brodber, and acclaimed music producer Chris Blackwell who is credited with "discovering" Bob Marley.

Oracabessa is a small town in Saint Mary Parish, Jamaica 10 miles (16 km) east of Ocho Rios. Its population was 4,108 in 2009. Lit in the afternoons by an apricot light that may have inspired its Spanish name, Oracabeza, or "Golden Head", Oracabessa's commercial district consists of a covered produce market and a few shops and bars. The main street is a narrow promenade with a number of well-maintained buildings in the early 20th century Jamaican vernacular tradition.To the east Oracabessa merges into a residential community, which is the site of luxury villas such as Goldeneye, Golden Clouds, and Firefly Estate, the latter once the home of British playwright Noël Coward. To the immediate west of Oracabessa is the village of Boscobel, home of Ian Fleming International Airport, Jamaica's newest international airport.Notable residents of Oracabessa include music producer Chris Blackwell and bestselling author Colin Simpson. Blackwell owns Goldeneye villa, original home of author Ian Fleming, who wrote many of the James Bond novels while living in Oracabessa. Simpson owns Golden Clouds villa and is the great-great-grandson of renowned Baptist missionary and abolitionist James Phillippo.

Golden Clouds was the name given by Ruth Bryan Owen, the first female US ambassador, to her house in Oracabessa, Jamaica. It is situated between Goldeneye, where Ian Fleming wrote many of the James Bond novels, and Noël Coward's Firefly Estate. The ocean front 12-bedroom estate is on 7 acres (2.8 ha) of manicured lawn and gardens with over 500 feet (150 m) of shoreline and its own private beach.

The Oracabessa River is a river of Jamaica.

Goldeneye is the original name of novelist Ian Fleming's estate on Oracabessa Bay on the northern coastline of Jamaica. He bought 15 acres (6.1 ha) adjacent to the Golden Clouds estate in 1946 and built his home on the edge of a cliff overlooking a private beach. The three-bedroom structure was constructed from Fleming's sketch, fitted with wooden jalousie windows and a swimming pool. Fleming's visitors at Goldeneye included actors, musicians, and filmmakers. As of 2010 the property operates as Goldeneye Hotel and Resort, consisting of Fleming's main house and several cottages. The estate is located in the Oracabessa Bay Fish Sanctuary, established in 2011 to protect the area's marine ecosystem. It is adjacent to James Bond Beach.

James Bond Beach sits on a small peninsula at Oracabessa Bay, approximately 10 miles or 16 kilometres from the Jamaican north coast town of Ocho Rios.The beach is noted for its water sports centre, its "crystal clear" water, and its mountains that reach "straight down to the sea." Other amenities, include a bar and a restaurant. The area has also served as a concert venue for Rihanna, Ziggy Marley, and Lauryn Hill.Its Moonraker bar is spread across two storeys, is open on all sides, and occasionally hosts jazz, blues, soca, and reggae concerts.The seaside location only took up its James Bond Beach name following a suggestion by Kingston-based journalist Neil-Monticelli Harley-Rüdd to the Jamaican Tourist Board.

Boscobel is located in St. Mary Parish on the north shore of Jamaica, ten miles east of Ocho Rios. It is home to Ian Fleming International Airport and is located approximately halfway between Montego Bay and Kingston.
