The John Wyeth House is a historic house in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The Larches is a historic house at 22 Larch Road in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was built c. 1808, and originally stood on one of the last of Cambridge's large Brattle Street estates to be subdivided. It was moved to its present location in 1915, at which time it underwent renovations and alterations designed by Alexander Longfellow, Jr. The building's interior and exterior both retain significant Federal style detailing. The house was built by William Gray, a Salem merchant, as a summer house. Twentieth century owners included composer Randall Thompson.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Mount Auburn Cemetery is the first rural, or garden, cemetery in the United States, located on the line between Cambridge and Watertown in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, 4 miles (6.4 km) west of Boston. It is the burial site of many prominent Boston Brahmins, as well as being a National Historic Landmark. Dedicated in 1831 and set with classical monuments in a rolling landscaped terrain, it marked a distinct break with Colonial-era burying grounds and church-affiliated graveyards. The appearance of this type of landscape coincides with the rising popularity of the term "cemetery," derived from the Greek for "a sleeping place," instead of graveyard. This language and outlook eclipsed the previous harsh view of death and the afterlife embodied by old graveyards and church burial plots.The 174-acre (70 ha) cemetery is important both for its historical aspects and for its role as an arboretum. It is Watertown's largest contiguous open space and extends into Cambridge to the east, adjacent to the Cambridge City Cemetery and Sand Banks Cemetery. It was designated a National Historic Landmark District in 2003 for its pioneering role in 19th-century cemetery development.

The Old Cambridge Historic District is a historic district encompassing a residential neighborhood of Cambridge, Massachusetts that dates to colonial times. It is located just west of Harvard Square, and includes all of the properties on Brattle Street west of Mason Street to Fresh Pond Parkway, all of the properties on Mason Street and Elmwood Avenue, and nearby properties on Craigie Street. The district includes five National Historic Landmarks: Elmwood, the Reginald A. Daly House, the Oliver Hastings House, the Mary Fiske Stoughton House, and the Longfellow House–Washington's Headquarters National Historic Site, as well as several other houses listed separately on the National Register. The district follows the general route of the Watertown Path, an early colonial road that supposedly followed a Native American trail. This portion of the way became known as Tory Row during the American Revolution, because many of the fine mansions lining it were owned by Loyalists. In the 19th and early 20th centuries it continued by a fashionable location, and now features a number of architecturally significant buildings. It includes 215 contributing buildings and one other contributing sites over an area of 52 acres (21 ha). One included building is the Cambridge Historical Society's offices, which are in the NRHP-listed Hooper-Lee Nichols House, located at 159 Brattle Street.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1983. It abuts a number of other historic districts, including the Cambridge Common Historic District, the Ash Street Historic District, and the Berkeley Street Historic District.

The Lowell is an historic triple decker apartment house on 33 Lexington Avenue in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Built in 1900 to a design by local architect John Hasty, it is a rare multiunit building in the Brattle Street area outside Harvard Square. The Colonial Revival building has a swan's neck pediment above the center entry, which is echoed above the central second story windows. Doric pilasters separate the bays of the front facade, and the building distinctively has side porches, giving it added horizontal massing. It was built before the decision was made to locate the electrified trolleys on Mount Auburn Street instead of Brattle (under pressure from wealthy Brattle Street residents), a decision that reduced interest in building more multiunit housing in that area.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Strawberry Hill, also known as Area 13, is a neighborhood in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It is bounded by the town of Belmont on the west, Watertown on the south, Aberdeen Avenue on the east, and Fresh Pond on the north. In 2017 it had a population of 2,585 residents living in 1,061 households, and the average household income was $74,107. The altitude is around 114 feet above sea level making it the highest natural altitude in Cambridge.

The Joseph Holmes House is an historic house at 144 Coolidge Hill Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was built in 1801 by John Holmes, father of Joseph Holmes. It was originally located on Appian Way in Harvard Square, and was moved to its present location in 1929, at which time an ell was also added. It is a well-preserved yet unpretentious Federal-style house, a rarity in "Old Cambridge", where such houses were once quite common. This house is not particularly pretentious, with a five-bay facade and center entrance, and is set sideways on its narrow lot.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Anna Day House is an historic house in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Elmwood, also known as the Oliver-Gerry-Lowell House, is a historic house and centerpiece of a National Historic Landmark District in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It is known for several prominent former residents, including: Thomas Oliver (1734–1815), royal Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts; Elbridge Gerry (1744–1814), signer of the US Declaration of Independence, Vice President of the United States and eponym of the term "gerrymandering"; and James Russell Lowell (1819–1891), noted American writer, poet, and foreign diplomat. The house, originally on a 100-acre estate, was built in the Georgian style about 1767 by John Nutting for Lt. Governor Thomas Oliver, member of a wealthy merchant family in the Province of Massachusetts Bay. Abandoned by the Loyalist Oliver at the outset of the American Revolutionary War, the property was confiscated by the state of Massachusetts. It was purchased by Elbridge Gerry, who used it as his family residence until his death in 1814. The house was sold by his heirs to the Lowell family, and was the birthplace and residence of James Russell Lowell for most of his life. During Lowell's ownership significant portions of the original estate were sold off, and his heirs sold the house to art historian and Harvard professor, Arthur Kingsley Porter. He bequeathed the property to the university, which now uses it as the official residence of its president. Architecturally the house has retained most of its Georgian character, and has had only modest exterior additions and modifications. Although it was decorated in a Victorian style by the Lowells, Harvard restored the interior to a more traditional Georgian style when it took over the property. The house is not open to the public. In addition to the property owned by Harvard, the National Historic Landmark District encompasses the adjacent Lowell Park, a state-owned park which was once part of the original Oliver estate.

The Josiah Coolidge House is an historic house at 24 Coolidge Hill Road in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Located on a drumlin overlooking the Charles River, this architecturally eclectic house was built in the 1820s, and was the farmhouse of the last working farm in the city. The farmlands were developed around the turn of the 20th century, and the house underwent significant alterations around 1900. In its present configuration it is 2+1⁄2 stories in height and five bays wide, with a jerkin-headed side gable roof pierced by gable dormers, and projecting sections (left one angled, right one squared) under a flat roof.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Sarah Orne House is an historic house at 10 Coolidge Hill Road in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The oldest portion of this house was built in 1807 by John Orne, and originally functioned as a store. It was moved in 1809 and expanded into a house by Orne's mother Sarah. It is now a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure, five bays wide, with a single-story porch spanning its front. The central window on the second floor has a rounded arch. The house was associated with the city's last working farm, which operated in the Coolidge Hill area. The former service wing of the house was separated from it in the 1930s, and now stands as a separate residence at 8 Coolidge Hill Road.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
