Sulam

Shunem or Shunaam (Hebrew: שׁוּנֵם Šūnēm; in LXX Ancient Greek: Σουνὰν, romanized: Sounàn) was a small village mentioned in the Bible in the possession of the Tribe of Issachar. It was located near the Jezreel Valley, north of Mount Gilboa (Joshua 19:18). Shunaam is where the Philistines camped when they fought Saul, the first king of Israel (1 Samuel 28:4). It was the hometown of Abishag, King David's companion in his old age (1 Kings 1:1). The prophet Elisha was hospitably entertained there by a wealthy woman whose deceased son Elisha brought back to life. (2 Kings 4:8) Shunaam is listed as a town conquered by the pharaohs of Egypt Thutmose III and Shoshenk I.Shunaam may have been located at the site of the modern village of Sulam.

The Battle of Mount Tabor was fought on 16 April 1799, between French forces commanded by Napoleon Bonaparte and General Jean-Baptiste Kléber, against an Ottoman Army under Abdullah Pasha al-Azm, ruler of Damascus. The battle was a consequence of the siege of Acre, in the later stages of the French Campaign in Egypt and Syria. Upon hearing that a Turkish and Mamluk army had been sent from Damascus to Acre, for the purpose of forcing the French to raise the siege of Acre, General Bonaparte sent out detachments to track it down. General Kléber led an advance guard and boldly decided to engage the much larger Turkish army of 35,000 men near Mount Tabor, managing to hold it off until Napoleon drove General Louis André Bon’s division of 2,000 men in a circling manoeuvre and took the Turks completely by surprise in their rear. The resulting battle saw the outnumbered French force inflict thousands of casualties and scatter the remaining forces of the pasha of Damascus, forcing them to abandon their hopes of reconquering Egypt and leaving Napoleon free to carry on the siege of Acre.

The Bustan al-Marj Regional Council (Hebrew: מועצה אזורית בוסתן אל-מרג', Mo'atza Azorit Bustan al-Marj) is a regional council in northern Israel. Its territory lies adjacent to the Jezreel Valley and north of Afula, and includes four Arab villages: Ed Dahi Kafr Misr Nein Sulam

Ed-Dahi (Arabic: الدحي, Hebrew: דַחִי) is an Arab village in northeastern Israel. Located on Givat HaMoreh (Jebel Dahi in Arabic) overlooking Afula, it falls under the jurisdiction of Bustan al-Marj Regional Council. The village is situated at an altitude of 550 meters above sea level. As of 2021 it had a population of 712.

HaEmek Medical Center (Hebrew: מרכז רפואי העמק, Merkaz refu'i ha-Emek, lit. "The Valley Medical Center") is a regional hospital in the northern Israeli city of Afula. Located in the central part of the Jezreel Valley (Emek Yizrael), the hospital is one in a network of hospitals owned and operated by Clalit Health Services, and is affiliated with the Technion's Rappaport Faculty of Medicine.

Merhavia (Hebrew: מֶרְחַבְיָה, lit. "Space of God") is a moshav in northern Israel. It falls under the jurisdiction of Jezreel Valley Regional Council and in 2021 had a population of 663. Founded in 1911, it was the first modern Jewish settlement in the Jezreel Valley.

Merhavia (Hebrew: מֶרְחַבְיָה, lit. 'Spacious place of Yah') is a kibbutz in northern Israel. Located to the east of Afula, it falls under the jurisdiction of Jezreel Valley Regional Council. In 2021 it had a population of 1,299.

Afula Illit Stadium (Hebrew: איצטדיון עפולה עילית, Itztadion Afula Illit), is a football stadium in Afula, Israel. It is used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Hapoel Afula.

Nein (Arabic: نين, Nayin, lit. Charming, Hebrew: ניין) — also Nain or Naim in English — is an Arab village in northern Israel. Located in the Lower Galilee, 14 kilometers (8.7 mi) south of Nazareth, Nein covers a land area of approximately 1,000 dunams (250 acres) and falls under the jurisdiction of Bustan al-Marj Regional Council, whose headquarters it hosts. Its total land area consisted of 3,737 dunums prior to 1962. According to the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics, in 2021 it had a population of 1,959.

The Church of the Resurrection of the Widow's Son (Hebrew: כנסיית בן האלמנה) or simply the Church of the Son of the Widow, is a religious building affiliated with the Catholic Church and is located in the village of Nein in northern Israel. It is dedicated to the resurrection of the son of the widow, one of the miracles of Jesus described in the Bible. The Church of the Resurrection of the widow's son is in the central part of the village Na'in, on the northern slope of Mount Moreh (515 m asl) in the Lower Galilee in northern Israel. The exact date of construction has been established between the fourth and fifth centuries. Thus, the town of Nain became a Christian pilgrimage destination, and the church quickly became known as a holy place. In 1881 the place was taken by the Franciscans, who, on the foundations of the old church, built the small contemporary temple. From 2013 an attempt was made to start the renovation work that could not be performed because the work was interrupted by local Arab groups. In December 2019, it was announced that the church would be reopening, following renovations of the church and its area. A small convent for the Franciscan friars is also planned.

Givat HaMoreh (Hebrew: גבעת המוֹרֶה, Arabic: جبل الدحي, romanized: Jebel ed-Dahi) is a hill in northern Israel on the northeast side of the Jezreel Valley. The highest peak reaches an altitude of 515 metres (1,690 ft), while the bottom of the Jezreel Valley is situated at an altitude of 50–100 metres (160–330 ft). North of it are the plains of the Lower Galilee and Mount Tabor. To the east, Giv'at HaMoreh connects to the Issachar Plateau. To the southeast it descends into the Harod Valley, where the 'Ain Jalut flows eastwards into the Jordan Valley.

In the campaign and Battle of al-Fule (in Crusader terms La Fève, Latin Castrum Fabe), a Crusader force led by Guy of Lusignan skirmished with Saladin's Ayyubid army for more than a week in September and October 1183. The fighting ended on 6 October with Saladin being forced to withdraw.
