Saddle Ridge is a residential neighbourhood in the northeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is located at the northeastern edge of the city, and it is bounded to the north by Airport Trail NE, to the east by Stoney Trail NE (Highway 201), to the south by 80 Avenue NE and to the west by Métis Trail. The Saddle Ridge Industrial Area and Calgary International Airport are located west of the neighbourhood. The Saddletowne Ctrain was built in 2012, and is the end of line for Northeast. The Ctrain station is located across a plaza that serves many South Asian restaurants as well as Nelson Mandela High School, and YMCA. Saddle Ridge is the largest neighbourhood for its Indian, Pakistani, Punjabi, and small Bengali community. The Bilal Islamic Centre was recently opened up in 2021, and has attracted many Muslims in the Northeast. The community initially consisted of acreages, with an active community association since the 1970s; intended urbanization was supposed to begin in the 1990s, however, due to drainage, it was pushed to the 2000s. In the mid 2000s, urbanization of the region began and, today, Saddle Ridge primarily refers to the urban community that has developed around the commercial hub formed by Saddletowne Circle, although a number of acreages remain. The western portion of the area is called Saddle Ridge Industrial and has started its construction in late 2018. Savanna, a division of the neighbourhood, is currently being built as part of the final expansion to Saddleridge for its full urban completion. Beside Savanna and 68th Street will be the Savanna Bazaar, an outdoor commercial market place that serves South Asian and Southeast Asian needs and food. Construction of Savanna began in 2017 and is still ongoing, while the first phase of the Savanna Bazaar is expected for completion in summer 2019. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 5 councillor.

Martindale is a residential neighbourhood in the northeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded to the north by 80 Avenue NE, to the east by Falconridge Boulevard, to the south by 64 Avenue NE and to the west by Métis Trail. The Martindale LRT station opened in August 2012. The area was annexed to the City of Calgary in 1961 and Martindale was established in 1983. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 5 councillor.

Saddletowne station is a CTrain light rail station in on the Northeast Line (Route 202) in Saddle Ridge Calgary, Alberta. Opened on August 27, 2012, as part of a 2.9-km extension.It is the current terminus of the N.E. line and is located in the northwest corner of Saddletowne Circle N.E., a large roundabout where the Saddleridge Town Centre a commercial and activity centre, with planned medium-density residential development and community facilities. The station has a Park and Ride with a 141-stall capacity. The station is a center-loading, walk-on island platform. Construction on the extension started in the spring of 2010 and completed, for its grand opening block party, on August 25, 2012. The extension was delayed by almost one year, as it was initially planned to open in late 2011. In its first year of service, Saddletowne served an average of 8,730 boardings per day.

Martindale is a CTrain light rail station in Martindale, Calgary, Alberta. It serves the Northeast Line (Route 202). It opened August 27, 2012.The station was constructed as part of a 2.9-kilometre extension of the Northeast line from McKnight–Westwinds station to Saddletowne station. It is located in a reserved right-of-way within its community, with the side-loading platforms to be staggered west and east of Martindale Boulevard. Due to its location in a residential area primarily serving local residents, there are no park-and-ride lots at the station nor a bus terminal, unlike most other CTrain stations in Calgary. Also, because of its location, CTrain speeds are reduced to 50 km/h (30 mph) in the general area. In its first year of service, Martindale served an average of 2,400 boardings per day. The opening of the Northeast extension was delayed by almost one year as the extension was originally planned to be open in late 2011.

Nelson Mandela High School is a high school in the city of Calgary. It accommodates approximately 1800 students in grades 10–12. The school is part of the Calgary Board of Education's public school system.

Cityscape is a residential neighbourhood in the northeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is bounded by Métis Trail to the west, Country Hills Boulevard to the north, the future 60 Street NE extension to the east, and the future Airport Trail NE (96 Avenue NE) extension to the south. Country Hills Boulevard becomes Highway 564 as it exits Calgary to the east. Cityscape is located within Calgary City Council's Ward 3.

Castleridge is a residential neighbourhood in the northeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is located east of the Calgary International Airport and is bounded by 64 Avenue NE to the north, Métis Trail to the west, McKnight Boulevard to the south and Falconridge Boulevard to the east. Castleridge was established in 1980 on land transferred from the Municipal District of Rocky View to the city in 1961. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 5 councillor.In 2008 the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community opened Baitun Nur, the largest mosque in Canada, in Castleridge.

Taradale is a residential neighbourhood in the northeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is located at the eastern edge of the city, and it is bounded to the north by Taradale Drive, to the east by 68 Street E, to the south by 64 Avenue N and to the west by Falconridge Boulevard. The land was annexed to the City of Calgary in 1961, and Taradale was established in 1984. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 3 councillor.

McKnight–Westwinds station is a CTrain light rail station in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It serves the North-East Line (Route 202) and opened in 2007 as part of the line's first extension. It was the northern terminus of the line until Martindale station opened in 2012. The station is located on an exclusive LRT right of way, north of the interchange at McKnight Boulevard and Métis Trail (formerly 44th St. NE). The station is 13 km from the City Hall Interlocking. 949 spaces are included at the stop, which is designed for commuter access. The station was only the terminus for less than five years, however, as a further extension (3.1 km) of the Northeast line to Saddle Ridge (originally planned to be complete by 2011) was approved in November 2007. The extension was opened on August 27, 2012, at the cost of $110 million. In the first year after the extension was completed, McKnight-Westwinds served average of 11,420 boardings per day. The station consists of a centre-loading, walk-on platform without stairs. It is very similar to Somerset-Bridlewood station and the Saddletowne station, which opened in 2012. McKnight-Westwinds is the first station on the Northeast line that is not located in the median of a roadway. Constructed along with the McKnight-Westwinds station, is the Oliver Bowen Maintenance Facility, located just South of the station. This facility is not only used for the maintenance of the fleet, but also has storage space for another 65 LRVs (light rail vehicles). This helps in the storage of the 22 additional LRVs that are planned to be purchased within the current 20-year capital plan. Previous to the 2007 extension, all NE LRVs had to come up from Anderson or Haysboro every morning. With the opening of OBMF, NE LRVs can stay on the NE line. Siemens U2s operating on the NW line provide service to Whitehorn or Saddletowne before going out of service for maintenance and then return to the NW line providing service from Whitehorn to Tuscany, before resuming regular operations.

Bishop McNally High School is a part of the Calgary Catholic School District in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The school is named after John Thomas McNally, founder of the diocese who was appointed Bishop of Calgary from 1913 to 1924.

Falconridge is a residential neighbourhood in the northeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It's bounded by Falconridge Boulevard and 44 Street E to the west, 64 Avenue N to the north, 68 Street E to the east and McKnight Boulevard to the south and is the place where Calgary Officer Andrew Harnett was slain by a 17 year old. The area was part of the Municipal District of Rocky View until it was annexed to the City of Calgary in 1961. Falconridge was established in 1979. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 5 councillor.

Skyview Ranch is a residential neighbourhood in the northeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Located near the north edge of the city, it is bounded by Métis Trail N.E. to the west, the Redstone community to the north, 60 Street N.E. to the east, and the Cityscape community to the south. It is bisected by Country Hills Boulevard, which becomes Highway 564 to the east. Skyview Ranch is located within Calgary City Council's Ward 5.
