Union Church (Durham, Maine)

Durham is a town in Androscoggin County, Maine, United States. The population was 4,173 at the 2020 census. It is included in both the Lewiston-Auburn, Maine Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Lewiston-Auburn, Maine Metropolitan New England City and Town Area.

The Bagley-Bliss House (now the Bliss Farm Inn) is an historic house in Durham, Maine, United States. With a construction date traditionally given as 1772, this Greek Revival house is claimed to be the oldest in Durham, built by one of its early settlers, who also operated an inn on the premises. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 22, 1996.

The West Durham Methodist Church is an historic Methodist church at 23 Runaround Pond Road in West Durham, Maine. Built in the early 19th century and significantly restyled in 1867, it is a fine example of Greek Revival architecture with added Italianate features. The congregation for which it was built grew out of a Methodist revival meeting held at the site in 1804, and was one of the first Methodist congregations in the state. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. It is presently unused.

The Sabattus River is an 11.4-mile-long (18.3 km) tributary of the Androscoggin River in Maine. It rises at the outlet of Sabattus Pond in the town of Sabattus and flows south into the town of Lisbon, reaching the Androscoggin just southeast of Lisbon Center and about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) upstream (northwest) of Lisbon Falls. Via the Androscoggin River, water from the Sabattus River flows to the Kennebec River at Merrymeeting Bay and ultimately to the Atlantic Ocean.

The Farwell Mill is an historic former mill complex at 244 Lisbon Street (Maine State Route 196) in Lisbon, Maine. Built in 1872, it is a fine example of a cotton mill built at the height of the Industrial Revolution. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. It is now residential housing.

Lisbon is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Lisbon, Androscoggin County, Maine, United States. It is one of the two main villages in the town, the other being Lisbon Falls. Lisbon village is in the western half of the town of Lisbon and is located on the Sabattus River, a south-flowing tributary of the Androscoggin River. Maine State Route 196 passes through the village, leading southeast 3 miles (5 km) to Lisbon Falls and northwest 7 miles (11 km) to Lewiston. The small village of Lisbon Center is in the southeast part of the CDP. Lisbon was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.

Lisbon Community School is a grade K-6 elementary school in Lisbon, Maine, but as of April 2007, Lisbon School Department has decided that it will become a K-5 school.

Lisbon High School is a public high school in Lisbon Falls, Androscoggin County, Maine, United States. The school mascot is the greyhound, and is part of the school is part of the Lisbon School Department. It was founded in 1952, its predecessor being Lisbon Falls High School.

The Worumbo Mill was a historic mill on the bank of the Androscoggin River in Lisbon Falls, Maine. Founded in 1864, it was at one point the community's largest employer. Its main building, dating to its founding, was destroyed by fire in 1987. The complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, and was delisted in 2017.

The Nathaniel Osgood House is a historic house on Maine State Route 136 in Durham, Maine. Built in 1785, early in the town's settlement history, it is a well-preserved example of Federal period architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

It is included in both the Lewiston-Auburn, Maine metropolitan statistical area and the Lewiston-Auburn, Maine, Metropolitan New England city and town area.
