Lakeport, Michigan

Lakeport State Park is a public recreation area on the shores of Lake Huron in St. Clair County, Michigan. The state park consists of two units on either side of the community of Lakeport within Burtchville Township. Two campgrounds, beachfront, and camp store are on the north side, and a picnic area and beachfront are on the south side.

Burtchville Township is a civil township of St. Clair County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 Census, the township population was 4,077. Lumberman Jonathon Burtch settled here in 1840. The township was named for him and he became the first supervisor when it was organized in 1862.

WGRT (102.3 FM) is an adult contemporary radio station in Port Huron, Michigan. It is owned by Port Huron Family Radio and broadcasts with a power of 3,000 watts. WGRT signed on in October 1991. The station airs a satellite-delivered AC format ("Today's Hits and Yesterday's Favorites") from Citadel Media. The station can be heard as far as Lapeer County and in parts of northern Macomb and southern Sanilac counties. The station is also heard as far east as Strathroy, Ontario; however, reception in the Canadian portion of WGRT's listening area, as well as areas closer to Detroit and Windsor, may be compromised, following the approval by the CRTC to upgrade the broadcast power of CHST-FM in London, Ontario (65 mi (105 km) east of Port Huron), increasing its maximum ERP from 12,100 to 100,000 watts; and the sign-on of CINA-FM in Windsor in 2012. Like WGRT, CHST-FM and CINA-FM both also broadcast on 102.3 FM.

Fort Gratiot Township ( GRASH-it) is a charter township of St. Clair County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 11,108 at the 2010 Census. It is named for Fort Gratiot, an American fort located there off and on between 1814 and 1879.

Birchwood Mall is an enclosed shopping mall located in Fort Gratiot Township, outside the city of Port Huron, Michigan, United States. The Mall features more than 100 stores and a food court. The mall's anchor stores are CubeSmart, Dunham's Sports, JCPenney, and Target. Other major tenants include Planet Fitness and AMC Birchwood 10. There are 3 vacant anchor stores that were once Carson's, Macy's, and Sears. The mall is located on 24th Avenue (M-25), north of Interstate 69 (I-69) and I-94.

Port Huron Northern High School (PHN; Northern) is a high school located in Port Huron, Michigan, United States. It is part of the Port Huron Area School District and serves grades 9–12.

Huronia Heights is a resort town and unincorporated community in Worth Township, Michigan. It was established as a private resort in 1882 by Marcus Young. A post office operated from December 1886 until June 1901. It is governed by a homeowner's association, which manages recreational and waste services, alongside setting speed limits. It is governed by a board of trustees, which is elected.

WBTI is a Hot AC radio station licensed to Lexington, Michigan at 96.9 MHz on the FM dial, with an effective radiated power of 3,000 watts. WBTI covers Sanilac County, Michigan and Lambton County, Ontario as well as portions of Lapeer and St. Clair counties. The station is owned by Radio First and broadcasts from studios on Huron Avenue in Downtown Port Huron. WBTI's transmitter is located south of Lexington off Gardener Line Road in Sanilac County. WBTI provides a rimshot signal to most of Port Huron, Marysville, and Sarnia, Ontario.

WORW (91.9 FM, "The Wave") is a high school radio station located in Port Huron Northern High School broadcasting a CHR/Top 40 format. Licensed to Port Huron, Michigan, it first began broadcasting on September 30, 1981.In fall of 2005, Faculty Advisor Carrie Maggs updated the high school radio station's studio with an automation system allowing the station to begin broadcasting 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Today the current Faculty Advisor is Ronald Neal and is also a speech teacher and broadcasting teacher. The current transmission range for the station is approximately 13 miles from the tower at 150watts (located at Port Huron Northern High School).WORW TV is 91.9FM's student-run and produced TV station also located in Port Huron, Michigan. They started producing news, sports, and community news packages in 2016.

Grant Township is a civil township of St. Clair County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 Census, the township population was 1,829.

Worth Township is a civil township of Sanilac County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 3,455 at the 2020 census.

Lakeside Cemetery in Port Huron, Michigan was first established in 1877. The City of Port Huron purchased the original 148 acres (60 ha) from local Port Huron resident John Hoffman. In 1900 the cemetery increased size to a peak of 176 acres (71 ha) but over the years the size has diminished to its current size of 96.5 acres (39.1 ha). The Lakeside Cemetery also has a "Soldiers Lot" encompassing lots 144–159. This portion of the cemetery was donated by the United States Government in 1881, when the remains of 135 soldiers from Fort Gratiot were entered into the cemetery. Fort Gratiot as two historical installations. The first installation was dated from 1814 until 1821. The second installation was in 1828–1879. Both installations were on the west bank of the St. Clair River approximately two miles South of the cemetery. Of the 135 soldiers buried only remains of 35 soldiers are known. This lot is overseen by the "Great Lakes National Cemetery" organization.In 1884, the US government dedicated a monument to the Soldiers Lot to honor the 100 unknown soldiers from Fort Gratiot. The soldiers fell victim to the cholera epidemic from July 4–18, 1832. The monument was built by Philo Truesdell from the Port Huron Marble and Granite Works. A statue of marble showing a Union soldier attired in Civil war uniform stands atop the column. The monument is 24 feet (7.3 m) high and cost $1,500 to complete.
