Sandnes Stadion

Malmheim og Soma is a borough of the city of Sandnes in the west part of the large municipality of Sandnes in Rogaland county, Norway. The 20-square-kilometre (7.7 sq mi) borough sits in the western part of the municipality and it has a population of 1,597. It was created in 2011 when the old boroughs of Malmheim and Soma were merged. The Julabygda Chapel is located in the small village of Julebygda in this borough.

Julebygda Chapel (Norwegian: Julebygda kapell) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in the large Sandnes municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Malmheim og Soma in the western part of city of Sandnes which lies in the far western part of the municipality. It is one of the two churches for the Gand parish which is part of the Sandnes prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. The stone church was constructed in a long church design in 1957 using designs by the architect Valdemar Scheel Hansteen. The church seats about 200 people.

The Stangeland stone or N 239 is a Viking Age runestone engraved in Old Norse with the Younger Futhark runic alphabet in Stangeland, Norway, and the style of the runestone is the runestone style RAK. It was found on Stangeland Farm, where it has been moved several times and for many years was used as a bridge over a river.

Sandneshallen is an indoor multi-use arena in Sandved, Norway. It consists of an athletics track with four oval lanes and other relevant facilities, and a sports field to be used for handball, basketball and floorball in the middle. The building was a cooperation between the Norwegian state, Rogaland County Municipality and the municipalities Sandnes (where it is located), Stavanger and Randaberg. It opened on 1 June 2011, and was the second indoor athletics venue in Norway, after Ranheimhallen.

Gand Church (Norwegian: Gand kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in the large Sandnes municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Sandved in the city of Sandnes in the far western part of the municipality. It is one of the two churches for the Gand parish which is part of the Sandnes prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. The large concrete church was built in a rectangular design in 1978 using designs by the architects Tonning and Øglænd. The church seats about 650 people.Due to its size, it is sometimes referred to as the Jæren Cathedral (Norwegian: Jærkatedralen). The church was consecrated on 3 December 1978. The church cost about 13.2 million kr, and it includes a large sanctuary, a chapel, office wing, Sunday school rooms, and two fellowship halls.

Solakrossen or Sola is the administrative center of Sola municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located at the south end of the Hafrsfjorden on the Stavanger Peninsula, just northwest of the city of Sandnes. The large Stavanger Airport, Sola is located on the west side of the village. The village of Sørnes lies just to the north. Sola Church lies on the far western edge of Solakrossen. The population of Solakrossen is about 10,000, but the population is not separately tracked since it is part of the Stavanger/Sandnes urban area. The newspaper Solabladet has been published in Solakrossen since 1991.

Stavanger Airport (Norwegian: Stavanger lufthavn; IATA: SVG, ICAO: ENZV), commonly just known as Sola, is an international airport located in Rogaland county, Norway. The airport is located 6 NM (11 km; 6.9 mi) southwest of the centre of the city of Stavanger inside the neighboring municipality of Sola and it serves the Stavanger, Sola, Sandnes area as well as serves as a regional hub for southwest Norway. It is Norway's third-busiest airport, with both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopter traffic for the offshore North Sea oil installations. In addition, the Royal Norwegian Air Force operates Westland Sea King search and rescue helicopters from Sola Air Station. The airport had 85,306 air movements and 4,501,368 passengers in 2015. Five airlines offered domestic flights to nine destinations while ten airlines offered international flights to 37 destinations. Two helicopter companies operate out of Sola. The busiest route is Sola–Oslo Gardermoen, which has about 28 daily flights. In the vicinity of the airport there is an aeronautical museum, Flyhistorisk Museum, Sola.

Sola Church (Norwegian: Sola kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Sola Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Solakrossen. It is the church for the Sola parish which is part of the Tungenes prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. The gray concrete church was built in a rectangular design in 2020 using designs by the architectural firm Brandsbergs-Dahl Arkitekter. The church seats about 300 people.The church was built to replace the Old Sola Church as the main church for the parish. The old church was located outside of the village on the other side of the airport. This church cost a total of 91 million kr to build.

Stokkavatnet is a former lake that was located at Forus in Stavanger, Norway, between the two fjords Hafrsfjord and Gandsfjord. The lake was among the largest at the Northern Jæren district, with an area of about 4 km2. It was surrounded by considerable areas of marsh land, and was known for a rich birdlife. The lake drained to Gandsfjord, and the outlet supplied six mills located near the fjord.

Øster Hus Arena is a football stadium located in Sandnes, Rogaland, Norway. It is a part of Sandnes Idrettspark and is used for football matches as the home ground of Sandnes Ulf. Øster Hus Arena was opened in the beginning of the 2020 season. The stadium's seated capacity is 6,046. The stadium is located next to Sandnes Stadion, the former home ground of Sandnes Ulf.

Sandved is a borough of the city of Sandnes in the west part of the large municipality of Sandnes in Rogaland county, Norway. The 2.5-square-kilometre (0.97 sq mi) borough has a population (2016) of 6,034. The borough is located just south of the downtown part of the city. The local sports team is Sandved IL, and Sandneshallen is located here. The local church is Gand Church.

Stavanger Airport, Forus (Norwegian: Stavanger lufthavn, Forus: ICAO: ENFO) is a former airport located at Forus in the intersection of the municipalities of Stavanger, Sola and Sandnes. It was built as a military air base by the Luftwaffe following the German occupation of Norway in April 1940. It was gradually expanded so that it by 1943 consisted of three runways, the longest 1,950 meters (6,400 ft). The airfield was connected by a 3.6-kilometer (2.2 mi) taxiway to Sola Air Station. The airport served as an offensive base during the Battle of Britain, and was afterwards made part of the defensive Festung Norwegen. The hangars saw a limited use after the end of World War II. From 1966 it was taken into use by Helikopter Service, who operated their offshore helicopter services out of Forus to the Ekofisk and Frigg platforms in the North Sea. The heliport saw a major upgrade in 1977, but was after long discussions and delays moved to Stavanger Airport, Sola in 1989. The area has since been redeveloped into a combination of industry and office buildings.
