Edgewood College is a private Dominican college in Madison, Wisconsin. The college occupies a 55 acres (22 ha) campus overlooking the shores of Lake Wingra.

Edgewood High School of the Sacred Heart is a private, Catholic, college preparatory school located in Madison, Wisconsin. Edgewood has been sponsored since its inception by the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa, Wisconsin. In the 2017–2018 school year, it enrolled 487 students, 73.3% of whom lived in a different zip code from where the school is based. The district includes 320 buildings, 297 of which are considered contributing to its historic significance, and Vilas Circle Park. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 14, 1999.

The August Cornelius Larson House is located in Madison, Wisconsin. It was added to the State Register of Historic Places in 1993 and to the National Register of Historic Places the following year. The Prairie School house was designed by Claude and Starck for August Cornelius Larson, a bank president in Madison.

Vilas Circle Bear Effigy Mound and the Curtis Mounds are a group of Native American mounds in Madison, Wisconsin. The Bear Effigy Mound is in the public Bear Mound Park, while the Curtis Mounds are on a neighboring residential property. As its name indicates, the Bear Effigy Mound is in the shape of a bear, and is intact except for a section of the bear's leg. The Curtis Mounds were seven linear mounds running down the hill and several conical mounds. Now only parts of one or two linear mounds remain, on private property.Mound Builder civilizations built the mounds between 500 and 1200 A.D. to serve as burial sites. Bear-shaped mounds represented earth and humanity in the Mound Builder tradition; other animal-shaped mounds, such as birds and lizards, were used to represent other elements.The mounds were added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 30, 1974.

West Lawn Heights Historic District is located in Madison, Wisconsin. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

The Annie C. Stewart Memorial Fountain is a fountain in Madison, the capital of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Dedicated to the memory of Annie (Anna) C. Stewart (17 January 1867 – 8 April 1905), who engaged in charitable activities in Madison, it was constructed in 1917–1925 and erected in Henry Vilas Park in 1925. The fountain is located south of 625 Wingra Street, near the corner of Wingra Street and Erin Street (the former pedestrian entrance of Henry Vilas Zoo) in Vilas Park. The fountain is adjacent to an eagle effigy mound built by Native Americans overlooking Lake Wingra.

The Vilas Park Mound Group is a group of Native American mounds in Vilas Park in Madison, Wisconsin. The group includes a bird effigy, a linear mound, and six conical mounds. It originally included another bird effigy and two additional conical mounds, but development destroyed these mounds and damaged two of the existing ones.Mound Builder peoples built the mounds between 800 and 1100 A.D., during the Late Woodland period, to serve as burial and cultural sites. While the Madison area was once home to over 1,000 mounds, all but roughly 200 have been destroyed, making the Vilas Park group more significant as a potential source of information about Late Woodland traditions.The mounds were added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 10, 1991.

Confederate Rest, in Forest Hill Cemetery, Madison, Wisconsin, is the northernmost Confederate graveyard in the nation. In it lie 140 Confederate prisoners of war who died under Union captivity.
