Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit, Inc., usually referred to as TCAT, is a private, non-profit public transportation operator, created by Cornell University, Tompkins County, and the City of Ithaca to serve Tompkins County, New York. The vast majority of TCAT bus routes are based in the City of Ithaca and surrounding urban area. These routes serve Ithaca College, Cornell University, and Tompkins Cortland Community College. As of 2019, TCAT operates 34 bus routes. Door to door paratransit service is provided by GADABOUT Transportation Services, Inc.

Glazer Arena is a 6,700-seat indoor arena located in Ithaca, New York. It is used primarily for athletics, and is the home of the Ithaca College Bombers indoor track and field team. The arena, named after Ithaca alumnus Edward ('92) and Shari Glazer, was made possible by their generous donation. It opened in the fall of 2011 and has since become the premier sports and entertainment venue for the Elmira/Corning/Ithaca region. In addition to track and field and concerts, the arena and the adjacent field house are also used for conventions, trade shows, graduation ceremonies and other special events and serve as the practice facility for most of Ithaca College's sports teams. Both facilities feature a total of 130,000 square feet of space; the arena itself contains a 200-meter six-lane track. Glazer Arena is part of the Athletics and Events Center complex, which also includes: Higgins Stadium, a 1,000 seat multi-purpose stadium which is home to the Ithaca College Bombers field hockey and lacrosse teams; A 950-seat aquatics pavilion with a nine-lane swimming pool which is used primarily for swimming and diving, and is home to the Bombers aquatics teams; The Wheeler Tennis Courts complex, which contains six tennis courts; The Bredbenner Gallery of Champions, located between Glazer Arena and the aquatics pavilion, which serves as Ithaca College's sports hall of fame.A glass-and-concrete tower is located near the main entrance.At the time of its completion the Athletics and Events Center complex was the largest construction project in the history of Ithaca College. The complex cost $65.5 million to build, mostly through donations.

Ithaca High School (IHS) is a public high school in Ithaca, New York, USA. It is part of the Ithaca City School District, and has an enrollment of approximately 1,675. The school is located at 1401 North Cayuga Street in the north end of Ithaca, near Stewart Park, Cayuga Lake, and Ithaca Falls. The current principal is Jason Trumble. In 2017, U.S. News & World Report ranked IHS as the best high school in Central New York, 48th in New York State, and 401st nationwide.

Six Mile Creek is a 20-mile-long (32 km) creek in Tompkins County, New York. It originates in the Town of Dryden near the intersection of Irish Settlement Road (Tompkins County Highway 162A) and Card Road, and drains into Cayuga Inlet which flows into Cayuga Lake. Its watershed is the principal source of drinking water for the city of Ithaca, New York and the surrounding communities. The headwaters lie on private land situated between Yellow Barn State Forest to the northwest and Hammond Hill State Forest to the southeast. It then flows south into the Town of Caroline, flowing parallel to Six Hundred Road and then crossing beneath New York State Route 79 in Slaterville Springs, after which it turns west until Brooktondale. There it turns northwest entering the Town of Ithaca. From there, the flow is interrupted by a series of dams, and then has its outlet at the Cayuga Inlet below the southern end of Cayuga Lake in the city of Ithaca.

Moosewood Restaurant is an American restaurant founded in Ithaca, New York in 1973 during the natural foods movement within the American counterculture. Its original goal was to provide dishes made of "local, sustainable" food. In addition, it has "maintained a structure where those who worked there also collectively owned and managed the place." It was also popular with countercultural icons: "Crosby and Nash once shared drinks at the bar, and Allen Ginsberg ended his dinner with a Moosewood brownie and black coffee. Even the Grateful Dead stopped by during their trip for Cornell’s Barton Hall show, only to go unrecognized by the members of the collective."In addition to producing a number of cookbooks, The Moosewood Restaurant won the America's Classics award from the James Beard Foundation in 2000, which recognized it as "one of the most popular regional destinations."

De Witt Park Historic District is a national historic district located at Ithaca in Tompkins County, New York. The district consists of 45 contributing buildings, one contributing site (De Witt Park, known as Town Square until 1869), and three contributing objects. It includes the area developed by the town's founder, Simon De Witt, in the early 19th century. The district includes the separately listed Boardman House and Second Tompkins County Courthouse.

Namgyal Monastery Institute of Buddhist Studies incorporates two institutions: (1) the North American Seat of Namgyal Monastery; and (2) a Tibetan Buddhist theological seminary affiliated with it. The two institutions share a dharma center in Ithaca, New York. The Dalai Lama is their patron, highest authority (for the former), and consultant (for the latter). "Namgyal" (rNam rGyal) is the Tibetan name of a long-life deity.

The Boardman House is a historic house located at 120 East Buffalo Street in Ithaca, Tompkins County, New York.

The Clinton House is a historic building located in downtown Ithaca, New York. It is built primarily in the Greek Revival style, common in older buildings in Ithaca. It currently houses offices and a local charter school. It is directly adjacent to the Ithaca Commons.
