Bälinge Church (Swedish: Bälinge kyrka) is a medieval church in Bälinge, Uppsala Municipality, Sweden. It is part of the Archdiocese of Uppsala (Church of Sweden).

Lövstalöt is a locality situated in Uppsala Municipality, Uppsala County, Sweden with 1,046 inhabitants in 2010.Lövstalöt is situated 12 km north of the city of Uppsala, in the flat country that surrounds the city. Until the end of the 1930s, the village consisted of a few houses and a school, built in 1892. In 1938, a woodworking factory, Bälinge Snickerifabrik, was built.Most of the houses in Lövstalöt were built during the 1960s and 1980s. Detached houses dominate, but there are also some terraced houses. In the centre of Lövstalöt there is a gravefield from the Iron Age.

Fjuckby (Swedish pronunciation: [ˈfjɵ̌kːbʏ]) is a village in Uppsala Municipality, Uppsala County, Sweden, located about 15 km (9.3 km) north of the central city Uppsala along European route E4. The village has a population of 65 people (as of 2000) within an area of 18 hectares (44.5 acres). Known as a site for runestones, the village's name has generated worldwide interest in the village.

Runic inscription U 1113 is the Rundata catalog number for a fragmentary Viking Age runestone that is located at Häggeby, which is about 1 kilometer west of Björklinge, Uppland, Sweden. The inscription is classified, based on the remaining evidence, as being carved in runestone style Pr4, also known as Urnes style. This runestone style is characterized by slim and stylized animals that are interwoven into tight patterns. The animal heads are typically seen in profile with slender almond-shaped eyes and upwardly curled appendages on the noses and the necks. The fragmentary runic text on this stone, which is 1 meter in height, has only one word, biarnhufþi ..., which has been translated as the name Bjarnhǫfði. There is another Uppland inscription, U 1045, which is one of the Björklinge runestones, that is located about 1 kilometer to the east at the church in Björklinge which has the same name on its inscription. The inscription on U 1045 states, "Bjarnhǫfði had the stone cut in memory of Bjarnhǫfði, his father ..." It is not known if the name Bjarnhǫfði on inscription U 1113 is associated with the father or son on U 1045, or refers to a third person with this name.

Valsgärde or Vallsgärde is a farm on the Fyris river, about three kilometres north of Gamla Uppsala, the ancient centre of the Swedish kings and of the pagan faith in Sweden. The present farm dates from the 16th century. The farm's notability derives from the presence of a burial site from the Swedish Vendel Age (part of the Iron Age (c. 550–793) and the Viking Age); it was used for more than 300 years. The first ship burial is from the 6th century and the last graves are from the 11th century.

In addition, there is a small fragment of a runestone with a partial runic text i * lit * rita * meaning "had erected" that has been given the catalog number U 1049.

Haga is a locality situated in Enköping Municipality, Uppsala County, Sweden with 257 inhabitants in 2010. Haga Castle, south of Enköping, is available for conferences, weddings or weekends away.

Björklinge is a locality situated in Uppsala Municipality, Uppsala County, Sweden with 3,269 inhabitants in 2010. The name, written as Birklinge, was used for the parish as early as 1314, and Norsemen graves have been found in the area. Björklinge is situated on a glacial ridge next to lake Långsjön. European route E4 passed through the village until the new motorway east of Björklinge was opened for traffic on October 17, 2007. Björklinge church, which was first built in the early 14th century and re-built in the 17th century, is in the centre of the village. The spelman Anders Ljungqvist, called "Gås-Anders" (Anders of the geese), lived in Björklinge most of his life. There is a statue of him, created by the artist Bror Hjorth, standing next to the church. Bror Hjorth had a summer cottage by Långsjön.

The Battle of Fýrisvellir was fought in the 980s on the plain called Fýrisvellir, where modern Uppsala is situated, between King Eric the Victorious and an invading force. According to Norse sagas, this force was led by his nephew Styrbjörn the Strong. Eric won the battle, and became known as "the Victorious".It is mentioned by Saxo Grammaticus in Gesta Danorum and in a number of medieval Icelandic sources, including Eyrbyggja saga, Knýtlinga saga, and Hervarar saga. An account is found in the Old Norse translation of Oddr Snorrason's lost Latin life of the Norwegian king Olaf Tryggvason, known as Odds saga munks, and a more detailed account in the short story Styrbjarnar þáttr Svíakappa, which is included in the saga of the Norwegian king Olaf II in Flateyjarbók; this version includes skaldic verses including two lausavísur by Þórvaldr Hjaltason. There are also possible references to the battle on runestones, three of which are in Scania. The factuality of the battle, and its location, have been disputed. There are however primary sources that support its historicity.
