Årnes Station (Norwegian: Årnes stasjon) is a railway station located in Årnes in Nes, Norway, on the Kongsvinger Line. The station was built in 1862 as part of Kongsvingerbanen. The station is served hourly by the Oslo Commuter Rail line R14 operated by Vy, in addition to extra rush-hour trains and express trains to Kongsvinger and Sweden. Most commuter trains terminate at Årnes.

Årnes is a village in Nes municipality in Viken County (Akershus County until January 1st 2020), Norway. The village is located along the eastern riverbank of the Glomma River, roughly 3 kilometers downriver from its confluence with the Vorma River.

Vorma

Vorma is a river in Norway that brings water from lake Mjøsa into the Glomma river. The Vorma is 30 kilometres (19 mi) long and flows through the town of Eidsvoll. The Vorma flows from Lake Mjøsa at the village of Minnesund to join with the Glomma at Årnes. Vorma was so named because it was a "warm" river that never freezes over, while both the Glomma and the Gudbrandsdalslågen routinely freeze. The junction of the Vorma with the Glomma at Årnes and Nes is the site of the Funnefoss on the Glomma, a 10-metre (33 ft) fall.
