Desert View Highlands is a census-designated place (CDP) in Los Angeles County, California, United States. The population was 2,360 at the 2010 census, up from 2,337 at the 2000 census. It is surrounded by the City of Palmdale.

Palmdale Regional Medical Center is a private hospital located in Palmdale, California. This hospital was the most expensive hospital project Universal Health Services has ever undertaken at US$200 million. Adjacent to the hospital itself is a 60,000-square-foot (5,600 m2) medical office tower, called the Palmdale Medical Plaza. The hospital complex will also feature apartment housing for those who need assisted living. The hospital complex is 34.17 acres (13.83 ha). This acute care facility is the only hospital in Palmdale, the largest city in California without a hospital prior to opening in December 2010. The hospital is 320,000 square feet (30,000 m2), and provides 775 jobs to the area. It opened with 127 beds, with another 44 beds approved to be added 8 months after opening. The hospital will be able to expand to 239 beds at maximum development.This new facility features a 35-bed emergency department, the largest in the Antelope Valley area, and a heliport (FAA LID: 50CN).

Highland High School is located in Palmdale, California and is part of the Antelope Valley Union High School District. About 4,000 students attend Highland High School in grades 9 through 12. It received a California Distinguished School award in 2005. Highland High School was founded in 1989 in response to Palmdale's rapid population growth. Palmdale High School was not large enough to serve the children of the new families moving into the Antelope Valley. Highland High School is now the largest high school under the Antelope Valley Union High School District. Highland High school most popular sport is football with many CIF championships including be the top team in the AV School District.

Skunk Works is an official pseudonym for Lockheed Martin's Advanced Development Programs (ADP), formerly called Lockheed Advanced Development Projects. It is responsible for a number of aircraft designs, highly classified R&D programs, and exotic aircraft platforms. The Palmdale Transportation Center is a multi-modal transportation center featuring a Metrolink rail station, a local bus hub, and commuter bus hub in the city of Palmdale, California. The center was completely rebuilt in April 2005. It features a "clock tower plaza" which has an enclosed waiting room with concessions and vending, public telephone, restrooms, a bus pass sales office, and security service. The center has four partially enclosed shelters at the bus hub and six partially enclosed shelters for the rail platform. The center also has a large park and ride facility with 586 spaces.

Paraclete High School is a private Roman Catholic college preparatory high school in Lancaster, California, United States, affiliated with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles. It was established in 1963. On May 24, 2011, Paraclete graduated its largest class yet with the Class of 2011, reaching 203 students.

Palmdale is a city in northern Los Angeles County in the U.S. state of California. The city lies in the Antelope Valley of Southern California. The San Gabriel Mountains separate Palmdale from the Los Angeles Basin to the south. On August 24, 1962, Palmdale became the first city in Antelope Valley. Forty-seven years later, in November 2009, voters approved making it a charter city. Palmdale's population was 169,450 at the 2020 census, up from 152,750 at the 2010 census. Palmdale is the 32nd most populous city in California. Together with its immediate northern neighbor, the city of Lancaster, the Palmdale–Lancaster urban area had a population of 359,559 in 2020.

Lake Palmdale is an artificial lake completed in 1924 along with the nearby Little Rock Reservoir created by Little Rock Dam. Its source of water is the California State Water Project and it is fed by the California Aqueduct. It is located in the city of Palmdale near the city's southern edge, in the small Anaverde Valley between the San Andreas Fault and the base of Mount Tenhi.

The Scaled Composites Triumph is a twin-engine, business jet prototype designed and built by Burt Rutan's Scaled Composites for Beechcraft. It was known officially as the Model 143, and internally at Scaled as the "Tuna". The aircraft is a three lifting surface design, with both a small canard, and a small conventional horizontal stabilizer in a T-tail configuration.

The Joe Davies Heritage Airpark, formerly known as the Palmdale Plant 42 Heritage Airpark is an aviation museum and airpark located in Palmdale, California with various United States military aircraft on display. The park is located adjacent to the United States Air Force Plant 42 and the Blackbird Airpark Museum. All of the aircraft on display were donated or loaned to the city of Palmdale, which owns and operates the park.

Una Lake is a sag pond in Palmdale, Los Angeles County, California. It is in Antelope Valley, in the San Andreas Rift Zone at an elevation of 2,812 feet/857 meters.

The Los Angeles Air Route Traffic Control Center (ICAO: KZLA, FAA LID: ZLA) is an air traffic control center located in Palmdale, California, United States. Located adjacent to United States Air Force Plant 42 and the Palmdale Regional Airport, it is one of 22 Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCC) operated by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Los Angeles ARTCC controls en route air traffic over southern and central California, southern Nevada, southwestern Utah, western Arizona, and portions of the Pacific Ocean Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ), with the exception of military airspace and lower-level airspace controlled by local airport towers and Terminal Control Centers (TRACON).
