The ABA Museum of Law, opened in November 1996 in Chicago, Illinois by the American Bar Association, was the only national museum that focuses on the role of law and the legal profession in America and throughout the world. Its goal was to engage the public in the legal system and make it relevant in their lives. In an effort to increase understanding of lawyers and the work they do, the museum highlighted lawyers who were well known for other work as well as well-known trials.The museum closed in late 2011, reportedly as a cost-cutting measure.

353 North Clark is a 624 feet (190 m) tall skyscraper in Chicago, Illinois. The building began construction in 2007 and was completed in 2009. It has 45 floors with a total of 1,173,643 square feet (109,035 m2) of floorspace. 353 North Clark is the home of Jenner & Block, a law firm, the Intercontinental Exchange, a financial services firm, Mesirow Financial, a financial services firm, and Ventas, a real estate company. In 2014, Empire, a TV series created for FOX, began filming in its lobby.

The Clark Street Bridge is a bascule bridge that spans the Chicago River in downtown Chicago, connecting the Near North Side with The Loop via Clark Street.

The Dearborn Street Bridge over the Chicago River was built in 1962. It connects the Near North Side with "The Loop." The American Institute of Steel Construction honored the bridge with the 1963 "Most Beautiful Steel Bridge" award in the Movable Span category. The first drawbridge was built at Dearborn street in 1834 when Chicago had a population of 350. It was the primary crossing point over the Chicago River for the original town.

The North Water Terminal was an "L" station on the North Side main line, located in the Near North Side neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois. While the initial portion of the Northwestern Elevated (Loop–Wilson) opened in 1900, the terminal opened on November 17, 1908, to accommodate excess traffic in the downtown area. A walkway was provided to connect the terminal station to the nearby Merchandise Mart station.There was once a proposal in 1916 to extend the stub from the terminal to State/Lake station via Carroll Avenue and State Street; however, this extension never materialized. The station ceased passenger services by August 1, 1949, as part of a systemwide service revision along both the North Side main line and the South Side Elevated. However, while passenger service ceased, trains still serve the terminal in special occasions like maintenance and emergencies. The station was eventually demolished in 1963.

The SS Eastland was a passenger ship based in Chicago and used for tours. On 24 July 1915, the ship rolled over onto its side while tied to a dock in the Chicago River. A total of 844 passengers and crew were killed in what was the largest loss of life from a single shipwreck on the Great Lakes.After the disaster, Eastland was salvaged and sold to the United States Navy. After restorations and modifications, Eastland was designated a gunboat and renamed USS Wilmette. She was used primarily as a training vessel on the Great Lakes, and was scrapped after World War II.

The Blue Cross-Blue Shield Building is an office building in Chicago, Illinois. The building is located at 55 W Wacker Drive in the Loop in Downtown Chicago. It was designed in a Brutalist style by C.F. Murphy Associates. The building opened in 1968 as the headquarters for BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois.

77 West Wacker Drive, previously the United Building, is an American office building in the Loop, Chicago. Finished in 1992, the building rises to a height of 668 ft (204 m) with around 944,000 square feet (87,700 m2) of interior space. The building, with 50 floors, was designed by Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura. It was formerly known as the RR Donnelley Building when RR Donnelley was the primary tenant. RR Donnelley moved its corporate headquarters to a different location in May 2005, and in 2007 the building became the corporate headquarters of United Airlines. The deal included naming rights to the building.The building was the world headquarters of Chicago-based United Airlines and its parent company, United Continental Holdings. It also served as the headquarters for United Continental subsidiary Continental Airlines until its certificate was merged with United on November 30, 2011. In 2012, United moved its headquarters to the Willis Tower, where the company occupies around 20 floors.Archer Daniels Midland moved its headquarters to the building in August 2014 from Decatur, Illinois. The building has a newsletter called "FOCUS", published by Prime Group Realty Trust.

The Chicago Varnish Company Building is a building built in 1895 as the headquarters of one of the leading varnish manufacturers in the United States, the Chicago Varnish Company. The building is a rare example of Dutch Renaissance Revival-style architecture in Chicago, and is marked by a steeply pitched roof paired with stepped gables of red brick and light stone in contrasting colors. The building was designed by Henry Ives Cobb, a nationally recognized architect whose other significant works include the former Chicago Historical Society Building, the Newberry Library, and the original buildings for the University of Chicago campus. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 14, 2001, and was designated a Chicago Landmark on July 25, 2001. After an extensive rehabilitation, including replacement of the multigabled clay tile roof and rebuilding the stepped parapets, Harry Caray's Italian Steakhouse opened in the building on October 23, 1987. The restaurant has received numerous awards for its food and service, and features many items of memorabilia, including a "Holy Cow" wearing the trademark Harry Caray eyeglasses that was sourced from Chicago's CowParade. The building is distinctive for its use of the Dutch Renaissance revival style, with its stepped gables, steeply-pitched tile roof, and contrasting brick and stone masonry.

Marina City, affectionately known as "the corn cob", is a mixed-use residential-commercial building complex in Chicago, Illinois, United States, North America, designed by architect Bertrand Goldberg. The multi-building complex opened between 1963 and 1967 and occupies almost an entire city block on State Street on the north bank of the Chicago River on the Near North Side, directly across from the Loop. Portions of the complex were designated a Chicago Landmark in 2016.The complex consists of two 587-foot (179 m), 65-story apartment towers, opened in 1963, which include physical plant penthouses. It also includes a 10-story office building (now a hotel) opened in 1964, and a saddle-shaped auditorium building originally used as a cinema. The four buildings, access driveways, and a small plaza that originally included an ice rink are built on a raised platform next to the Chicago River. Beneath the platform, at river level, is a small marina for pleasure craft, giving the structures their name.

OneEleven (formerly 111 W. Wacker and Waterview Tower) is a luxury rental apartment tower located in downtown Chicago, Illinois. The building is located between LaSalle Street and Clark Street, adjacent to River North and directly on the Chicago River. The building was developed by Related Midwest in a joint venture with Clark Wacker LLC and designed by architect Gary Handel of Handel Architects LLP. Kara Mann of Kara Mann Design was selected for interior design. OneEleven was completed in 2014. OneEleven stands 630 feet (190 m) tall, with 504 units throughout located on 60 stories. The building has 470 total parking spaces, approximately 30,000 square feet (2,800 m2) of amenity space, and 32,000 square feet (3,000 m2) of retail space. The tower was built on Wacker Drive, between LaSalle Street and Clark Street, where a parking lot had been. The building's official address is 111 W. Wacker Drive.

The La Salle Street Bridge (officially the Marshall Suloway Bridge) is a single-deck double-leaf trunnion bascule bridge spanning the main stem of the Chicago River in Chicago, Illinois, that connects the Near North Side with the Loop area. It was constructed in 1928 at a cost of $2,500,000 by the Strobel Steel Constructing Company. The bridge was part of a scheme to widen LaSalle Street and improve access from the Loop to the north side of the river that had been proposed as early as 1902. The design of the bridge, along with those for new bridges at Madison Street, Franklin Street, and Clark Street, was approved in 1916.The Chicago City Council renamed the bridge in 1999 to honor former Chicago Department of Public Works Commissioner Marshall Suloway.
