Greystone Mill Historic District

The Edwin H. Farnum House is an historic house at the junction of Putnam Pike (United States Route 44) and Collins Street in Johnston, Rhode Island. It is a two-story wood-frame structure, five bays wide, with a large central chimney. It was built c. 1765, either by Stephen Angell or his son Daniel, and enlarged about 1795 by Edwin Farnum. The main entry exhibits Federal styling probably added by Farnum, with 3/4 length sidelight windows and a segmented fanlight above. The right-side bays on the first floor have been replaced by a 20th-century bay window.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

Esmond is a historic mill village in Smithfield, Providence County, Rhode Island, United States. Old County Road School, East Smithfield Public Library, and the historic Allenville Mill are located in the village. Located in Esmond is the former Esmond Mill, which operated from 1906 to 1948. After its closure, the Esmond Mill became the corporate headquarters for Benny's. Esmond has its own postal code: 02917-2808.

Centerdale (also known as Centredale) is a village within the town of North Providence, Rhode Island. The historic Allendale Mill (1822) is located in Centerdale.

Allendale Mill is a historic mill at 494 Woonasquatucket Avenue in North Providence, Rhode Island, on the banks of the Woonasquatucket River. The oldest buildings in the mill complex were built in 1822 by John Holden Greene for Zachariah Allen. The mill had various fire safety devices that were advanced for the time, including "heavy fire doors, sprinkler system, rotary fire pump, and copper-riveted fire hose to be used in American textile mills. In addition, Allen built a heavy fire wall separating the picker room (filled with highly flammable cotton fibers) from the rest of the mill and set the roofshingles in mortar." The second building, also of 1822, was a company store building. It still stands next to the mill, facing Woonasquatucket Avenue. Several additions were built onto the original building during the late 19th and 20th centuries. The first was a plain, white, 5-bay section in 1880. Later, two identical 9-bay red-brick additions were built in 1910 and 1947.The mill's 6 buildings over 5 acres (2.0 ha) were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The Ira B. Sweet House is a historic house at 38 Esmond Street in Smithfield, Rhode Island. It is a 1+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure, with a mansard roof. It was built c. 1884–95, and is an unusually late example of Second Empire styling. Ira Sweet was a local shop owner and the village postmaster until his death c. 1900. The house is three bays wide and two deep, with a center entry flanked by projecting bay sections topped by bracketed eaves. A two-story enclosed porch is attached to the right side, and additions extend the house further to the rear.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

The Daniel Angell House is a historic house at 15 Dean Avenue in Johnston, Rhode Island, United States. The oldest portion of this 1+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure was built c. 1725, although it was long attributed to Daniel Angell (1744-1810). The house has an irregular front facade, seven bays wide, with two doors occupying the third and fifth bays. The western part, likely the oldest portion of the house, has a large chimney centered on five bays. The relatively unusual construction practices used in the house's construction, as well its remarkable state of preservation, make it a valuable resource in the study of Rhode Island colonial architecture.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Allenville Mill Storehouse (also known as Company Storehouse or Allenville) is a historic mill storehouse at 5 Esmond Street in Esmond, Rhode Island within the town of Smithfield, Rhode Island. The exact date of construction is unknown, but it was built with rubble masonry construction which was typical of mill construction during and after the War of 1812. In 1813, Phillip Allen purchased 4.5 acres of land and constructed a mill on the site, but the first record to specifically refer to the storehouse was an insurance policy from 1836. Allen sold the property in 1857 and it changed ownership several times before it became Esmond Mills in 1906. In 1937, the building was used as a post office and described erroneously as the "Old Allenville Mill". The building has had some alterations to the front door and possibly the addition of a side door, but the interior of the structure was not detailed in the National Register of Historic Places nomination. The Allenville Mill Storehouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

Belknap School (also known as the District No. 8 School House) is a historic former school house at 509 Greenville Avenue in the Belknap village of Johnston, Rhode Island. The first school on the site was built in 1790 and was the first school in the town when it was founded. The current school building was built on the same site in 1892 and was used as a school until 1938. It was used as an American Legion building from the late 1940s until 1998. In 2002 the building was acquired by the Johnston Historical Society. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

Belknap is a village within the city of Johnston in Rhode Island. On April 18, 1759, the citizens of Johnston held the first Town Meeting at Benjamin Belknap's house on Greenville Avenue in Belknap, and Abraham Belknap was appointed as the town's first Town Sergeant at the meeting. In 1771 the Baptist Meeting House in Belknap opened, and is believed to be the first place of worship in Johnston. In 1790 the Belknap School the first school in Johnston was founded.

Assapumpset Brook is a 5.9-mile (9.5 km) long waterway in Johnston, Rhode Island, United States. It feeds the Woonasquatucket River and is considered part of the drainage basin variously termed the Narragansett Watershed or the Woonasquatucket River Watershed.

The Clemence–Irons House (also known as the Edward Manton House) is a historic house located in Johnston, Rhode Island. It was built by Richard Clemence in 1691 and is a rare surviving example of a "stone ender", a building type first developed in the western part of England and common in colonial Rhode Island. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is a historic house museum owned and operated by Historic New England. It is open Saturdays between June and mid-October.
