Glenark Mills

The Hope Street School is an historic school building at 46 Hope Street in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. The 2+1⁄2-story brick school building was designed by Willard Kent and built in 1899 by Norton & Kennedy. Its western entrance has a wooden portico supported by Doric columns; a similar portico on its eastern entrance was removed. The building was used as a public school until 1978.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Woonsocket Rubber Company Mill is an historic mill at 60-82 Main Street in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. The mill consists of a series of 3- and 4-story brick buildings built between 1865 and 1875 by Edward Harris, one of Woonsocket's leading businessmen. These buildings housed the Woonsocket Rubbert Company, one of Rhode Island's first manufacturer of rubber products, principally shoes, boots, and rubberized fabric. In 1910 the complex was purchased by the Falls Yarn Company, which used it for the production of fine woolen yarns.The mill was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.Another mill owned by Woonsocket Rubber Company, known as the Alice Mill, named for the owner's mother, was located on Fairmount Street in Woonsocket. It was destroyed in a June 7, 2011, fire.

The Island Place Historic District is a historic district at Island Place and South Main Street at Market Square in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. The district includes six historic buildings, three of which are part of the Woonsocket Rubber Company Mill, dating from c. 1857 to c. 1919. The other buildings in the district are the Island Machine Company (c. 1874), the Barnai Worsted Company Dyeworks (c. 1919), and a wood-frame structure (c. 1870), that is the last surviving elements of the Wilkins Manufacturing Company. The district is bounded by Market Square, Bernon Street, and a bend in the Blackstone River. The site is now home to the Museum of Work & Culture, a project of the Rhode Island Historical Society. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990; the Woonsocket Rubbert Company property was also listed separately in 1989.

The Museum of Work and Culture is a museum in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, that features exhibits focusing on the city's textile manufacturing heritage. The museum is operated by the Rhode Island Historical Society and located at 42 South Main Street in Market Square in the Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor.

The Hanora Mills (also known as the Hanora Lippitt Mills Apartments) are a historic textile mill complex the center of Woonsocket, Rhode Island. The oldest part of the mill complex was constructed in brick around 1827 by the Ballou family, and it was named Harrison Mills. The mill was a water powered facility with a specially dug trench. In the mid-nineteenth century, Henry Lippitt's company purchased the mill from the Ballous, and it became known as Lippitt Mills. There are various other buildings which were gradually constructed as the site expanded with the latest dating to the turn of the twentieth century. The mill was renamed Hanora Mills in the twentieth century after the Lippitts sold the site. The mills produced woolen textiles until 1975 when the facility was closed. Several of the buildings feature a Greek Revival style, and the whole site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. The historic mill buildings were renovated into apartments for the elderly in the 1980s.

The John Arnold House is an historic house on 99 Providence Street in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. The main block of this two-story wood-frame house is conventionally believed to have been built in 1712, but there is architectural evidence parts of it may be even older. There are two additions: a two-story gable-roof section extending south (dating to the early 20th century), to which a mid-20th-century addition has been made. Elements of the house's antiquity remain in the main block despite its conversion to multiunit housing. The house is presumed to have been built by John Arnold, grandson of early Rhode Island settler William Arnold.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 24, 1982.

The Jules Desurmont Worsted Company Mill is a historic mill at 84 Fairmount Street in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. The mill complex consists of three brick buildings, erected 1907-10 by Jules Desurmont, the owner of a textile firm in Tourcoing, a city in northern France, who had been drawn to Woonsocket by the promotional activities of Aram Pothier. The mill produced French worsted wool yarn until 1952, and was used for many years thereafter by smaller textile and industrial concerns.The mill complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Honan's Block and 112–114 Main Street are a pair of joined commercial buildings in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Honan's Block (108–110 Main Street) is a visually distinctive three-story brick Stick/Eastlake-style building erected in 1879. The adjacent 112–114 Main Street is an L-shaped two-story block which wraps around the rear of the Honan Block. The two buildings were joined via internal connections in 1938–39, at which time the facades of both buildings were significantly altered, although the Honan Block has retained its distinctive Late Victorian cast-iron elements. The buildings were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989, and contribute to the 1991 Main Street Historic District.

The Woonsocket City Hall, (also known as the Harris Institute) is located in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Edward Harris, a leading Woonsocket industrialist, constructed the earliest part of the building in 1856, and it was known as the Harris Block, with stores on the first floor, and an auditorium hall seating 1,100 on the third floor. This brick structure has elements of Italianate styling, including round-arch windows and a heavily dentilled cornice. A major Richardsonian Romanesque addition, called the Granite Block, was made to the north of this structure in 1891. In 1902 the city purchased the building for use as city hall.The builders of the original building were Albert B. Cole of Woonsocket and a Mr. Slade of Providence, probably Obadiah Slade, carpenter. The 1891 addition was built by Cutting & Bishop of Worcester. The architect of neither section is known.The building served as the first public library in Rhode Island, housed on the second floor, which is now the Woonsocket Harris Public Library. In March 1860 Abraham Lincoln spoke to a packed crowd in Harris Hall, which at the time contained one of the largest assembly rooms in the state.

Allen Street Historic District is a historic district encompassing a collection of smaller textile mills in central Woonsocket, Rhode Island. The district extends on either side of Allen Street, a road isolated between Truman Drive (built in the mid-20th century) and the Blackstone River, and includes buildings dating from c. 1860 to c. 1930. Of the five textile mill buildings in the district, four are brick structures built between about 1900 and 1920; the oldest building in the district is the c. 1860 Pond's Warp Mill at 148 Bernon Street. The latter is also adjacent to a rare visible fragment of the once-extensive canal works (now mostly filled in and built over) that characterized the industrial center of Woonsocket. Many of the district's buildings have been converted to housing. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

The Main Street Historic District is a historic district in the central business district of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, USA. It extends along Main Street, between the railroad tracks just northeast of its junction with Clinton Street, and roughly Ascension Street at the southwest. Most of the sixteen buildings in this area were built at the height of Woonsocket's prosperity, roughly between 1850 and 1930. The district is characterized by brick and masonry buildings generally between two and six stories in height.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. It includes two properties previously listed on the National Register: Woonsocket City Hall, and the conjoined Honan's Block and 112-114 Main Street.

The Bernon Worsted Mill is an historic textile mill at 828 Park Avenue in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. It is a brick building, two stories tall, about 280 feet (85 m) in length. It was built in 1919 by Charles Augustus Proulx, and was operated as a producer of specialty custom worsted wool yarns, in what was then a sparsely populated part of the city. The building saw somewhat regular use in the manufacture of textiles until 2004.The mill was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. It was renovated into condominiums in 2005 known as the "Red Mill Lofts."
