Riley Hill School

Riley Hill, North Carolina, United States, is an unincorporated community in mideastern Wake County. It is at the southern end of Broughton Road, on Riley Hill Road and is approximately six miles northeast of Knightdale, and approximately 3.8 miles north of the intersection of U.S. 64/264, and Business U.S. 64. Perry Farm, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is located in Riley Hill.

The Perry Farm is an intact, historic African-American farm complex in Riley Hill, North Carolina, a suburb of Raleigh. The farm house was built in 1820 by John and Nancy Perry, white slaveholders of several slaves during the Antebellum period of the South. After the Civil War ended, a freedman named Feggins Perry made arrangements with his former enslavers to work the land as a tenant farmer. Each night after work, Feggins made baskets and furniture for extra money so he and his brother could buy land, which was the prime goal of many freedmen. Feggins Perry also helped establish the nearby Riley Hill Baptist Church for freedmen.In 1914, Feggins' son Guyon Perry purchased Perry Farm. The property remains in the family to this day. Perry Farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in August 1994 as significant in African-American social history.

The Harmony Plantation, also known as Montague-Jones Farm, is a historic plantation house located at 5104 Riley Hill Road near Wendell, North Carolina, a town in eastern Wake County. It was built in 1833, and is a two-story, three-bay, single-pile, Greek Revival style frame dwelling. It is sheathed in weatherboard, has a hipped roof, and a gabled rear ell. The front facade features a centered, double-tier pedimented, front-gabled portico with bracketed cornice and unfluted Doric order columns. Also on the property is a contributing one-story, rectangular, beaded weatherboard building that once housed a doctor's office (1833).The plantation was the home of Dr. Henry W. Montague, his wife Anne Jones Montague and as many as 46 people who they enslaved people and forced to work the farm. In January 2008, the Harmony Plantation was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

It is part of the Wake County Public School System. The school serves the Wake County towns of Wendell and Zebulon as well as the surrounding unincorporated parts of eastern Wake County.

Rolesville High School is a public high school located in Rolesville, North Carolina, United States. The school opened in 2013 after the splitting of the former Wake Forest-Rolesville High School (now Wake Forest High School). The school is operated by Wake County Public School System.

Southeastern Free Will Baptist College is a college of the Free Will Baptist denomination located in Wendell, North Carolina. It was started in Virginia Beach, Virginia at Gateway FWB Church. Jim Marcum took over as President of the college in 2012, replacing Dr. Lorenza Stox. Jeff Jones is Chairman of the Board of Directors. According to the college's website, "The purpose of Southeastern Free Will Baptist College is to train young men and women for church-related ministries." In 2018 Nate Ange took over as President, replacing Jim Marcum.

Lizard Lick is an unincorporated community in Wake County, North Carolina, United States. The community is located at the crossroads of Lizard Lick Road and NC 97. Lizard Lick has frequently been noted on lists of unusual place names.The community is approximately 20 miles (32 km) east of the state capital of Raleigh, along NC 97. It is about 3 miles (4.8 km) north of Wendell and 3 miles (4.8 km) west of Zebulon.

The Heartsfield–Perry Farm is a historic home and farm located at Rolesville, Wake County, North Carolina, a satellite town of the state capital Raleigh. The original one-room house was built in the 1790s, with a Greek Revival style update made about 1840. It is a two-story house with two-story rear ell and one-story rear shed addition. It features a double-tier Greek-Revival-style—porch and low hipped roof. The interior of the house retains some Federal style design elements. Also on the property are the contributing detached kitchen (c. 1840), smokehouse / woodshed (c. 1840), privy (c. 1900), doctor's office (c. 1840), mule barn (c. 1805), pack house (c. 1940), horse barn (c. 1940), feed barn (c. 1840), two tobacco barns (c. 1930, c. 1950), the family cemetery, and the agricultural landscape.In January 2003, the Heartsfield–Perry Farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Hood–Anderson Farm is a historic home and farm and national historic district located at Eagle Rock, Wake County, North Carolina, a suburb of the state capital Raleigh. The main house was built about 1839, and is an example of transitional Federal / Greek Revival style I-house. It is two stories with a low-pitched hip roof and a rear two-story, hipped-roof ell. The front facade features a large, one-story porch, built in 1917, supported by Tuscan order columns. Also on the property are the contributing combined general store and post office (1854), a one-room dwelling, a two-room tenant/slave house, a barn (1912), a smokehouse, and several other outbuildings and sites including a family cemetery.In April 1999, the Hood–Anderson Farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Green-Hartsfield House, also known as the Hartsfield House, is a historic home located near Rolesville, Wake County, North Carolina, a satellite town northeast of the state capital Raleigh. Built in 1805, the house is an example of Late Georgian / Early Federal style architecture. It is a two-story, three-bay, single pile, frame dwelling sheathed in weatherboard, with a two-story gable-roofed rear ell. A one-story rear shed addition was added in the 1940s. The house was restored between 1985 and 1987. Also on the property is a contributing frame barn.In December 1989, the Green-Hartsfield House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
