Stanford station (Kentucky)

Lincoln County Courthouse is the building in Stanford, Kentucky, the county seat of Lincoln County, where trial courts conduct their affairs, and other county governmental offices are located. The building was added to the United States National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

The Samuel and Mary Logan Briggs House, at 315 W. Main St. in Stanford, Kentucky, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. It has also been known as the Harvey Helm Historic Library & Museum.It is a five-bay two-story weatherboarded house on the south side of what is now U.S. Route 150, but was the Old Wilderness Road from the Cumberland Gap into Kentucky and to the Falls of the Ohio. It was built before 1790.It was the first location of the Stanford Presbyterian Church.

The James W. Alcorn House, in Stanford, Kentucky, was built in 1885. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.It is located at 409 Danville Ave. in Stanford. The listing included six contributing buildings.It is a two-story, brick T-plan house. Five frame outbuildings are included in the listing. It has also been known as The Hickories at St. Asaph's.The house was home of James W. Alcorn, who served as a Confederate officer in the American Civil War and who later "gained regional recognition as a successful attorney during the latter half of the 1800s."

Stanford is a home rule-class city in Lincoln County, Kentucky, United States. It is one of the oldest settlements in Kentucky, having been founded in 1775. Its population was 3,487 at the 2010 census and an estimated 3,686 in 2018. It is the county seat of Lincoln County. Stanford is part of the Danville Micropolitan Statistical Area.

Lincoln County High School is a public secondary school located in Stanford, Kentucky. It was opened in August 1974 for the 1974–1975 school year, after the consolidation of the local high schools of the towns of Lincoln County; Stanford, Crab Orchard, Hustonville, McKinney, and King Mountain area (Memorial). In the 2016–2017 school year, 1027 students were enrolled at Lincoln County High School. An estimated 24,456 people live in Lincoln County as of 2017, so the students of Lincoln County High School represent 4.20% of the county's population. The mascot is the "Patriot", a man clad in red, white and blue American Revolution era garb. Across the board, the percentage of students of Lincoln County High School scoring "Proficient" or "Distinguished" in their standardized tests is higher than that of students in the district and the state. The graduation rate for students of Lincoln County High School is 96.2%, 3.1% more students than the district and 6.4% more students than the state.Lincoln County High School's campus is located on Education Way. This campus is shared with Lincoln County Middle School and Lincoln County Area Technology Center.

The Adam Pence House in Lincoln County, Kentucky near Stanford, Kentucky, was built in 1851. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. Although apparently still NRHP-listed, it has apparently been demolished. It was a red brick I-house with a rear ell, fronted by four two-story white pillars. In 1978 it was deemed "architecturally significant as being one of the grand Greek Revival rural residences of Lincoln County to survive in a relatively unaltered state." It was built for Adam Pence in 1851 with bricks made ("burned") on its property, and with lumber transported from Somerset, Kentucky. Adam Pence fought in the War of 1812 and the house was built on land given to him for his service in that war.An 1898 photo of the home, labelled as the "Matheny-Pence House on Old Somerset Road", appears in a Lincoln County history compiled by the local historical society. Labelled as "Yankees" in the photo are husband and wife Adam Richard Matheny and Franciska Hornath Matheny.Its location is about 5 miles (8.0 km) south of Stanford on Kentucky Route 1247.By 2022, the house appears to have been demolished. An undated Bing Maps aerial view shows the house, recognizable by its outline compared to sketch map in the NRHP document, labelled as 5310 Kentucky Highway 1247, at 37.469516°N 84.632603°W / 37.469516; -84.632603 (5310 Kentucky Highway 1247). This is close to the coordinates (37°28′06″N 84°38′01″W) provided with NRIS 2013 data, within usual variance of such vs. modern GPS mapping. However a Google Maps satellite view, presumably later, shows ruins at that site.

The Hoffman House, off U.S. Route 27 in Lincoln County, Kentucky between Lancaster and Stanford, was built around 1850. During the American Civil War the house "was the base of a large group of Confederates."Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, it includes Greek Revival and Federal architecture. The original stone house was about 25 by 20 feet (7.6 m × 6.1 m) in plan; the house was expanded by an addition plus enclosure of a porch.

The Abraham Miller House, near Stanford, Kentucky, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.It is uses saddlebag architecture, a two-room one-story log building built between 1785 and 1815.
