Wheeler-Thanhauser Orchid Collection and Species Bank

Christy Woods (17 acres (6.9 ha)) is an arboretum and botanical garden located on the southwest corner of the Ball State University campus in Muncie, Indiana, with special focus on Indiana's native plants and ecosystems. Christy Woods was part of the original land gift to the State of Indiana from the Ball Brothers in 1918. Dr. O. B. Christy worked with his biology classes to transplant wild flowers from around the state of Indiana into the woods. In 1928, trails and garden beds were created, at the suggestion of J.J. Porter of Cornell UniversityToday approximately three-fourths of the area is covered by mature forest, dominated by a mixture of oak, hickory, ash, walnut, hackberry, and maple. Christy Woods is also home to Ball State University's four greenhouses, the Rinard Orchid Greenhouse, home of the Wheeler Orchid Collection and Species Bank, the Teaching and Research Greenhouse where the University's teaching collection for students to study is housed, the Herb Greenhouse, where herbs used by the University's Dining Services are grown and the Environmental Studies greenhouse, used for plant propagation and aquatic research.

Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital is an academic teaching hospital in the city of Muncie, Indiana. It is the only hospital in the city of Muncie, Indiana. It was founded by the Ball Brothers, hence the name, Ball Memorial Hospital. It is near the campus of Ball State University; however, it is affiliated with the Indiana University School of Medicine. The hospital was founded in 1929. It houses 3 residency programs/graduate medical education program including internal medicine, family medicine and a transitional year residency.

The Ball State Cardinals are the athletic teams that represent Ball State University, located in Muncie, Indiana. The Cardinals are part of the NCAA Division I Mid-American Conference. Charlie Cardinal is the team mascot. The Ball State University Pride of Mid-America Marching Band performs at all home football games, many home basketball games, and various other athletic and spirit events across campus.

Burris Laboratory School is a kindergarten through twelfth grade public laboratory school located on the west side of Muncie, Indiana. The school is a division of Ball State University and provides University pre-service teachers an opportunity for classroom observation and practice. The school also shares a campus with the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities. Currently Burris has implemented a system for middle school called impact.

The Ball State University Observatory is a collection of five permanently mounted telescopes on the Cooper Science Building on the campus of the Ball State University in Muncie, IN. Its largest telescope is a 16-inch Meade LX200. The observatory is used primarily for student astronomy classes and not research. The observatory also hosts public observation events for enthusiasts.

Westwood Historic District is a national historic district located at Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana. It encompasses 83 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site in a predominantly residential section of Muncie. The district developed after 1923, and includes notable examples of Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture. Notable buildings include the William H. Ball House (1925), Alexander Bracken House (1937), Michael Broderick House (1928), Bennett Heath House (c. 1930), and Fred Kencht House (1932).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

The Bracken House is the residence of the President of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. The home is located just a few blocks west of the Ball State University campus in the historic neighborhood of Westwood. Many receptions, dinners, and other official university events are hosted at the home. The current residents are Ball State University President Geoffrey S. Mearns and his wife, Jennifer.

The David Owsley Museum of Art (DOMA) is a university art museum located in the Fine Arts building on the campus of Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana, the United States of America. The museum's name was changed on October 6, 2011, from the Ball State Museum of Art to the David Owsley Museum of Art in honor of David T. Owsley, grandson of Frank C. Ball (one of the five Ball Brothers), to recognize his donation of over 2,300 works of art and planned gift of $5 million. Since departments within the Fine Arts Building relocated to other areas on Ball State's campus, the museum has expanded its galleries, beginning in early-mid-2012 and ending in 2013.The museum is home to approximately 11,000 works of art (mostly paintings, photographs, prints and sculptures). It is one of only four Indiana art museums with an encyclopedic, world art collection.

Beneficence is a 1937 bronze statue on the campus of Ball State University, located in Muncie, Indiana. The statue, by sculptor Daniel Chester French, is referred to as Benny by students.

The Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities (The Indiana Academy) is a nationally ranked public high school located on the campus of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. The Academy offers both residential and non-residential (commuter) options for juniors and seniors. As of the 2022-2023 academic year, a non-residential only pilot program for high school sophomores has been added, though it remains to be seen if it will persist. Admission is open to high ability, gifted, and talented high school students living anywhere in Indiana. The Indiana Academy was founded in 1988 by the Indiana General Assembly. and is a part of Ball State's Teachers College. The first group of Academy juniors started in the fall of 1990. Nearly 100% of graduates will attend 4-year colleges or other post-secondary education. For the Class of 2020, the average SAT score was 1336 vs the Indiana average of 1085 and the National average of 1059. The Indiana Academy offers courses in twelve AP subjects.

Ball State University (Ball State, State or BSU) is a public research university in Muncie, Indiana. It has two satellite facilities in Fishers and Indianapolis. In 1917, the Ball brothers, industrialists and founders of the Ball Corporation, acquired the foreclosed Indiana Normal Institute and gave the school and surrounding land to the State of Indiana. The Indiana General Assembly accepted the donation in the spring of 1918, with an initial 235 students enrolling at the Indiana State Normal School – Eastern Division on June 17, 1918. Ball State is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity". The university is composed of seven academic colleges. As of Fall 2020, total enrollment was 21,597 students, including 15,205 undergraduates and 5,817 postgraduates. The university offers about 120 undergraduate majors and 130 minor areas of study and more than 100 master's, doctoral, certificate, and specialist degrees.Ball State athletic teams compete in Division I of the NCAA and are known as the Ball State Cardinals. The university is a member of the Mid-American Conference and the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association. In fall 2020, the university formed a varsity esports team and joined the Esports Collegiate Conference.

Teachers College is an academic college of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Teachers College is housed in a 10-story, 138 feet (42 m) building which is the second tallest in Delaware County. It is home to six academic departments: Early Childhood, Youth, and Family Studies, Educational Leadership, Educational Psychology, Educational Studies, Elementary Education, and Special Education. It also houses the Office of the Dean and the Office of Teacher Education Services and Clinical Practice.
