Nidarholm Abbey

Munkholmen (Norwegian: Monk's islet) is an islet in the municipality of Trondheim in Trøndelag county, Norway. The 13,000-square-metre (3.2-acre) island sits in the Trondheimsfjord about 1.3 kilometres (0.81 mi) northwest of the island of Brattøra and the mouth of the river Nidelva in the center of the city of Trondheim. The islet has served as a place of execution, a monastery, a fortress, a prison, and a World War II anti-aircraft gun station. Today, Munkholmen is a popular tourist attraction and recreation site.

German submarine U-622 was a Type VIIC U-boat built for Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine for service during World War II. She was laid down on 1 July 1941 by Blohm & Voss, Hamburg, as yard number 598, launched on 19 March 1942 and commissioned on 14 May 1942 under Oberleutnant zur See Horst-Thilo Queck.

The Skansen Tunnel (Norwegian: Skansentunnelen) is an immersed tube underwater tunnel in the city of Trondheim in Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. Part of Norwegian National Road 706, it runs from Brattøra to Ila. The tunnel is 510 meters (1,670 ft) long and opened on 27 May 2010.

The Pier Terminal (Norwegian: Pirterminalen) is a ferry terminal and bus station located at Brattøra in the centre of Trondheim, Norway. Fosen Trafikklag operates fast ferries across the fjord to Vanvikan, as well as Kystekspressen to Kristiansund and Sula. Team Trafikk serves the terminal with several routes by city bus. The terminal is owned by Fosen Trafikklag, whose head office is located in the upper levels of the building. Plans have been launched to construct a walkway that would allow passengers to walk over the rail yard to Trondheim Central Station in a few minutes.

The Trondhjem Hospital (Norwegian: Trondhjems Hospital; colloquially: Hospitalet) is a charitable foundation in Trondheim, Norway. The Hospital runs a nursing home, a home for demented persons, apartments for assisted living, and retirement apartments with attached home service. Its several buildings in Trondheim include the Hospital Church (Hospitalskirken). Created in 1277 by Archbishop Jon Raude, the Hospital is one of Norway's oldest foundations.

St. Olavs Gate in Trondheim, Norway is the location of the terminal station of Gråkallbanen, the only remaining tramline in Trondheim. The station serves the city center and is located two blocks from the bus station at Munkegata Terminal. It is located on St. Olavs Gate between Kongens Gate and Dronningens Gate.The station was built in 1924 and first served as the terminus for the private Gråkallbanen. Until 1946 the trams had to change direction at St. Olavs Gate, but that year a loop was built at the station so the trams could continue on without changing direction. Until 1966, passengers were not allowed on or off along the tram line they shared with the city owned Trondheim Sporvei. The operation of the tram was taken over by Trondheim Trafikkselskap in 1974. From 1973 the line continued on to Voldsminde and later in the 1980s to Lade, and did not stop at St. Olavs Gate. After Gråkallbanen was reopened in 1990, St. Olavs Gate station again became the terminus for the line.

Trondheim Central Station (Norwegian: Trondheim sentralstasjon) or Trondheim S is the main railway station serving the city of Trondheim, Norway. Located at Brattøra in the north part of the city centre, it is the terminus of the Dovre Line, running southwards, and the Nordland Line, which runs north. The railway is electrified south of the station but not north of it, so through trains must change locomotives at the station. Vy serves the station with express trains to Oslo and Bodø, regional trains to Røros and Östersund in Sweden, and the Trøndelag Commuter Rail. The Trondheim Bus Station located at the station serves all long-distance buses, and some city buses. From 1913 to 1968 the station was also the terminus for two lines of the Trondheim Tramway. Trondheim's first station, dating from 1864, was located at Kalvskinnet. In 1877 the current station was built to serve the Meråker Line to Sweden—since integrated into the Nordland Line. At the same time a connection was built between the two stations, and the central station took over as the main station serving Trondheim. In 1910 construction of a new station for the Dovre Line was started, finishing in 1921. The main station building consists of an older section in historicism brick, while the annex is in postmodernistic concrete and glass.

Rockheim (also called Det nasjonale opplevelsessenteret for pop og rock, The National Discovery Centre for Pop and Rock, and Det nasjonale museet for populærmusikk, The National Museum for Popular Music) is Norway's national museum for popular music from the 1950s to the present. It is a division of Museene i Sør-Trøndelag (Sør-Trøndelag Museums) and is housed in a former grain warehouse in Trondheim. It opened in 2010; since 2013, the director has been Sissel Guttormsen. The museum also has a virtual presence, Virtuelle Rockheim, which launched in 2009, and since 2011 musicians and groups have been chosen for the Rockheim Hall of Fame.

Munkegata Terminal was the main bus station in Trondheim, Norway until August 2019. The main bus terminal is now located in Prinsenkrysset. All buses to and from Trondheim, with the sole exception of the Airport Express Bus and TrønderBilene stopped at the terminal, that is located on the streets of Munkegata and Dronningens gate on Trondheim Torg in Midtbyen. The terminal also housed the corporate offices of Team Trafikk, the city bus company in Trondheim until June 2018.The terminal was divided into four sections each direction on Munkegata and two sections each direction on Dronningens gate. Each bus route stopped at a consequent stop in each direction, making it possible to manage a terminal that is two blocks long. One of the stops served regional buses from Gauldal Billag, Klæburuten, Nettbuss and NOR-WAY Bussekspress.At Trondheim Central Station there is also a bus station, but this only serves regional- and express buses in addition to some city buses. Before 1961 the Trondheim Tramway went through Munkegata, but was moved to go down Prinsens gate instead of aesthetical reasons. The present tram stop for Gråkallbanen stops two blocks away at St. Olav's Gate.

The Norwegian National Museum of Justice, Norwegian: 'Justismuseet', until 2016: Norsk Rettsmuseum, is a public museum of penal justice and law enforcement in Trondheim, Norway. From 2001-2017, the director of the museum was ohan Sigfred Helberg. From 2017-2018, the director was Brynja Birgisdottir and since 2019, has been Åshild Karevold. It is housed in a former prison.

Tronka is a detached, monumental wooden building built in the classical style in the Kalvskinnet neighborhood of Trondheim.The structure was built between 1836 and 1842 as the Trondheim Hospital Care Foundation for the Feeble Minded (Norwegian: Trondhjems Hospitals Pleiestiftelse for Sindssvage) based on a design by Gustav Adolph Lammers and Ole Peter Riis Høegh. The name Tronka is probably derived from the French word tronc 'alms box', referring to an alms box at the entrance. The building functioned as an institution for the mentally ill until the Municipality of Trondheim took it over in 1919. The building was given protected status by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage in 1927. The structure was taken over by the Norwegian Directorate of Public Construction and Property in 1995 and, after an extensive restoration project, in 2005 the building was put into use as office space for the directorate's Central Norway region.

Skansen (Skansen stasjon) is a railway station located at Ila in Trondheim, Norway. It is on the Dovre Line (Dovrebanen), 1.20 kilometers from Trondheim Central Station. Service to the station is provided though the Trøndelag Commuter Rail operated by SJ Norge and regional trains to Røros Station. It was opened in 1893. The station is located in a residential area. It is the only railway station in Trondheim to have connections with the Trondheim Tramway. It is also served by city buses.
