Whitstable Museum is a heritage centre in Whitstable, Kent, with Invicta, one of the world's oldest steam engines, the history of the local oyster trade and historical diving equipment.

The Great Fire of Whitstable in 1869 devastated the coastal town of Whitstable in Kent, England.On the evening of Wednesday, 16 November 1869, the fire swept through The Wall, west of the town's harbour. Given that the population of the town was a little under 2,000, the disaster that befell the little fishing harbour must have been big news across the region, as the fire drew a crowd of 10,000 spectators. It was the local coastguard, Edwin George Lane, who on 16 November at about 10.45pm spotted flames coming from the roof of a shop. He raised the alarm and a large crowd gathered.Winds caused the inferno to be carried into Marine Street, and Harbour Street beyond, causing great damage where almost all the buildings were destroyed. It was not until 8AM the next morning that the flames were extinguished, although firemen stayed for several hours to put out the smouldering embers.

Whitstable () is a town in the Canterbury district, on the north coast of Kent adjoining the convergence of the Swale Estuary and the Greater Thames Estuary in southeastern England, five miles (eight kilometres) north of Canterbury and two miles (three kilometres) west of Herne Bay. The 2011 Census reported a population of 32,100. The town, formerly known as Whitstable-on-Sea, was famous for its 'Native Oysters' which were collected from beds beyond the low water mark from Roman times until the mid-20th century. The annual Whitstable Oyster Festival takes place during the summer. In 1830, one of the earliest passenger railway services was opened by the Canterbury and Whitstable Railway Company. In 1832 the company built a harbour and extended the line to handle coal and other bulk cargos for the City of Canterbury. The railway has closed but the harbour still plays an important role in the town's economy. The railway route, known as The Crab and Winkle Line, is now a cycle path which leads to the neighbouring city of Canterbury.

Whitstable railway station is on the Ramsgate branch of the Chatham Main Line in England, serving the town of Whitstable, Kent. It is 59 miles 6 chains (95.1 km) down the line from London Victoria and is situated between Faversham and Chestfield & Swalecliffe. The station and all trains that call are operated by Southeastern.

Whitstable Lifeboat Station is a Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) station located in Whitstable in the English county of Kent.The station was established in 1963, and has always operated an inflatable inshore lifeboat. The current lifeboat is a B-class (Atlantic 85) named Lewisco (B-877) which has been on the station since 2014. Boathouse accommodation has been improved over the years, with a single storey extension added to the side to improve crew facilities in 1989, and a new boathouse completed in 2000.A number of awards have been made to Whitstable crew. These include, between 1977 and 2010, one RNLI bronze medal and four "Thanks of the Institution inscribed on Vellum" for bravery during rescues. The station also received the RNLI’s "Walter and Elizabeth Groombridge Annual Award" for the most meritorious rescue by an inshore lifeboat crew in 2009. In the 2003 New Year Honours David Andrew Lamberton, the station's honorary secretary, was appointed a member of the Order of the British Empire for his services to the RNLI.The annual "Dan Davies Competition" is held in the memory of Whitstable general practitioner Dan Davies, who served as medical officer to the lifeboat station.

The Whitstable School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Whitstable, Kent, England. It was established in 1952 as the Sir William Nottidge School and was known by this name until 1998 when it was changed to The Community College Whitstable. In 2018 it was renamed as The Whitstable School (to hide the stigma associated with the previous name) after converting to academy status. The school is administered by The Swale Academies Trust.

Duncan Down is an open, public, area to the south west of Whitstable and is the largest village green in the United Kingdom. It is a 21 hectare (52 acre) area of grass and woodland incorporating four ponds and a brook. The area is maintained by the Friends of Duncan Down with assistance from Canterbury City Council and has received funding from nearby planning development. Originally intended for housing development in the inter-war years it is now protected by its village green status.

Tankerton Halt was a minor station on the Canterbury and Whitstable Railway at Tankerton, Kent. It opened in 1914 and closed in 1931.

Whitstable Harbour railway station was the name of two disused railway stations serving Whitstable the terminus of the Canterbury and Whitstable Railway. The station opened in 1830. It was extended in the mid-1870s and resited in 1895. The Canterbury and Whitstable line closed to passengers in 1931 and freight in 1952, although it was reopened for a month following the North Sea flood of 1953.

All Saints Church is a Church of England church in Whitstable, Kent. It is one of five Church of England churches in the Whitstable Team Ministry. There has been a church on the site for at least 800 years, initially consisting of a chancel and nave. In the early 13th century a new church was built in the same simple form, the early English style of Gothic Architecture, and a tower was added. The north aisle was added in the 15th century. In the 1870s when the fabric became unsafe the church was almost rebuilt with the chancel enlarged and a vestry added. In 1962 the design was competed by the addition of a south aisle and west porch. The south wall of the nave was taken down and rebuilt to form the wall of the new aisle, still retaining the original stained glass windows. Arches and pillars were constructed to reflect those of the early 15th century on the north side of the nave. At the east end of the Nave Aisle there is a stone slab, from which the brass has been removed, in which the outline of a chalice is clearly visible, showing that it was the tomb of a priest. Only two other similar examples exist, both of them in north Kent. The tomb in unique in that it depicts the chalice only and no communion wafer. On the south wall is the oldest brass in the church, a memorial tablet to Thomas Brede, who died in 1444. In the churchyard lies the Grade II listed tomb of Wynn Ellis, designed by Charles Barry Junior, built in 1875 and managed by the Mausolea and Monuments Trust.

South Street Halt was a minor station on the Canterbury and Whitstable Railway at Tankerton, Kent. It opened in 1911 and closed in 1931.

Foxes Cross Bottom is a 4-hectare (9.9-acre) Local Nature Reserve north-west of Whitstable in Kent. It is owned and managed by Canterbury City Council.This site has diverse habitats of grassland, scrub, broadleaved woodland, ponds, ditches and hedges. The meadows are grazed by ponies and highland cattle.There is public access to the site.
