Grand Canyon (mall)

Highway 23, more-commonly known as the "Carmel Tunnels" (Hebrew: מנהרות הכרמל, Minharot HaCarmel), are a set of toll tunnels in Haifa, Israel. The tunnels' purpose is to reduce road congestion in the Haifa area and to provide an alternate route of reaching the eastern and central parts of the city, Haifa Bay and the Krayot area to and from Israel's central coastal plain without having to travel through traffic-congested downtown Haifa, having to drive up and across Mount Carmel, or bypassing Haifa from the east – along the edge of the Jezreel Valley (via Highway 70 for example). The tunnels cut the travel time from the Haifa South interchange in the west to the Checkpost interchange in the east from 30–50 minutes down to 6 minutes. The tunnels were built and are operated as a BOT project. They were opened to traffic on 1 December 2010.

The Matza restaurant suicide bombing occurred on March 31, 2002, when a Palestinian Hamas suicide bomber detonated his bomb inside the Matza restaurant in Haifa, Israel, near the Grand Canyon shopping mall, killing 16 Israeli civilians and injuring over 40 people. Journalist Giulio Meotti described the attack as a massacre.

Nave Sha'anan (Hebrew: נָוֶה שַׁאֲנָן; lit. Tranquil Abode) is a neighborhood in eastern Haifa, Israel that extends from the lower inclines of Mount Carmel to midway across its slopes.

Halisa (Hebrew: חליסה; Arabic: الحليصة) is a neighborhood in the southeastern part of Haifa in northern Israel. It is located in the administrative region of Nave Sha'anan-Izraeliya, on the edge of the Mount Carmel.

Yeshivat Or Vishua is a hesder yeshiva located in the Neve Sha'anan neighborhood of Haifa. Its head is Rabbi Eliyahu Zini, who is also the former rabbi of the nearby Technion university. Its name means "Yeshiva of Light and Redemption". Its population includes many people who are or were associated with the Technion, as well as many French immigrants, and other people who live in Haifa and its suburbs.

The Romema Arena (Hebrew: היכל הספורט העירוני רוממה) is a multi-purpose arena in Haifa, Israel. The arena is home to Hapoel Haifa basketball club and to Maccabi Haifa basketball club, a members of both the Hapoel Haifa and Maccabi Haifa sports clubs. The arena was and is a home to various entertainment events, conventions, and major events in other sports. The arena is owned by the municipality of Haifa, and managed by Athos Ltd. - a company also fully owned by the municipality.

Vardiya (Hebrew: ורדיה, also Vardia) is a neighborhood in Haifa, Israel. Established in the 1980s, Vardiya is located in the upper Carmel, between the Hadar Hacarmel and Romema. The pine forests ringing the neighborhood were once a popular site for family recreation and hiking. Several archeological sites and the ruins of stone houses several hundreds years old were discovered on the hills. The residential towers in this largely upscale neighborhood offer a panoramic view of Haifa Bay. During Operation Desert Storm, a Patriot missile site was deployed in Vardiya.

The Haifa bus 16 suicide bombing was a suicide bombing which occurred on 2 December 2001 on an Egged bus in Haifa. 15 people were killed in the attack and 40 people were injured.The Palestinian Islamist militant organization Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack.

Romema (Hebrew: רוממה) is a neighborhood in the city of Haifa, Israel. Also known as The Romemot and Ramat Ben-Gurion, it is located east of Ahuza, on the northern slope of Mount Carmel. Today the neighborhood has two sections - New Romema and Old Romema - with a joint population of 8,340.

Tell Abu Hawam is the site of a small city established in the Late Bronze Age (14th century BCE) in the area of modern-day Haifa, Israel. The sixth century BCE geographer Scylax described the city as being located "between the bay and the promontory of Zeus", by the latter meaning the northwestern extremity of Mount Carmel. It existed as a port city and a fishing village, and was moved to the site south of what is now the neighborhood of Bat Galim. The city eventually expanded into what is now the city of Haifa.

The Hebrew Reali School of Haifa (Hebrew: בֵּית־הַסֵּפֶר הָרֵיאָלִי הָעִבְרִי בְחֵיפָה, romanized: Bet ha-sefer ha-Reali ha‘Ivri be-Ḥeifa), located in Haifa, Israel, is one of the country's oldest private schools.

Technion International (TI) is the international department of Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, which was ranked as the best university in Israel and the Middle East. Located in Haifa, Israel, Technion International was founded in 2009 in order to oversee Technion’s international academic endeavors. Technion International offers a variety of programs, including "full undergraduate and graduate programs, postdoctoral fellowships, study abroad programs, summer programs for gifted teens, research internships as well as entrepreneurship programs". As of 2018, "Technion has academic collaboration agreements with 232 universities in 41 countries and 36 medical school agreements".Technion International has two international affiliates: the Jacobs Technion-Cornell Institute, with partnership with Cornell University, and the Guangdong Technion Israel Institute of Technology, located in Shantou, Guangdong Province, China. It is the first Israeli university to establish joint campuses oversees.
