Emmaus Bible College is a private Bible college in Dubuque, Iowa, affiliated with the Plymouth Brethren. It offers double majors in both professional and biblical studies. It was established as Emmaus Bible School in 1941 in Toronto, Ontario, by Ed Harlow, John Smart, and Ernest Tatham. Emmaus began offering correspondence courses a year later, with the target audience being military personnel. The college relocated to Chicago, Illinois, in 1947. In 1984, it moved to Dubuque, Iowa and was renamed Emmaus Bible College. The college is in a large facility that was formerly home of Aquinas Institute of Theology, a Roman Catholic institution.

The Dubuque Community School District (DCSD) is a public school district based in Dubuque, Iowa, United States. DCSD, which operates schools in eastern Dubuque County, is the seventh largest school district in Iowa. As of the 2021-2022 school year, DCSD has 10,535 students enrolled in its schools.

Dubuque Senior High School (commonly Senior or DSHS) is a four-year public high school located in Dubuque, Iowa. It is one of two high schools in the Dubuque Community School District, and enrolls 1,447 students in grades 9–12. The school's mascot is the Ram; it competes at the state level in class 4A (which contains the state's largest schools) and is a member of the Mississippi Valley Athletic Conference.

Center Grove, Iowa was a town located just to the west of Dubuque, Iowa. It is located in section 27 of Dubuque Township. It is named Center as it was believed to be the center of the mining district. Center Grove was located near what today is known as U.S. Highway 20 and Devon Drive.

Old Chapel Hall, also known as Alumni Hall, is a historic building located on the campus of the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, Iowa, United States. The school started as a German Presbyterian Seminary in 1852. A period of expansion between 1904 and 1922 saw the institution become a liberal arts college called the Dubuque German College and Seminary. This building was part of that expansion. Steffens Hall (no longer extant) was completed in 1907, and became the first building on the school's new campus. The chapel was added onto the rear of that building later the same year. It was a gift of the Frank Peters family from St. Louis. The red brick Gothic Revival structure features stone trim, paired lancet windows, a rose window, and a small open bell tower above the entrance. Religious services were held here until 1980 when Blades Chapel was completed. As part of that project Steffens Hall was torn down, except for the front arcade and porch, which makes the old chapel the oldest building on campus. A courtyard was created where the old building stood directly in front of the old chapel. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Holy Family, which operates schools in eastern Dubuque County, is a part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Dubuque. As of the 2011–2012 school year, HFCS has 1,837 students enrolled in its schools (excluding preschools).

Originally classes were taught in German to serve the immigrant population, but today the school is well known for its emphasis on Native American and rural ministry and on-line education. Clarke offers a broad undergraduate curriculum in 19 academic departments with over 40 majors and programs. The university also provides graduate master's and doctoral degrees in select areas of study and has a general enrollment of approximately 1,200 students.
