Henley Park Hotel

901 New York Avenue NW is a mid-rise Postmodern high-rise located in Downtown Washington, D.C., in the United States. The structure was developed by Boston Properties in an effort to help to revitalize the Mount Vernon Square neighborhood, and was completed in 2005. It is located on a roughly triangular parcel bounded by New York Avenue NW, K Street NW, and 10th Street NW, and is north of the CityCenterDC mixed-use residential, office, and retail project. The triangular area was originally home to Victorian housing but in 1977, the city used eminent domain to purchase the area southwest of Mount Vernon Square itself, and over the next few years, the homes and businesses on these blocks were razed. In the 1980s, Golub Realty and Willco Construction purchased the site and proposed an 11-floor office block. They sold it to Peterson Co., who sold it to Monument Realty in May 1999. Monument Realty had envisaged building either an office and retail complex, or a 1,000-room hotel. They finally sold it to Boston Properties for $43.2 million in October 2000. Boston Properties closed the parking lot on the site in late August 2002, and began construction of the building the following month. The architectural height of the building is 140 feet (43 m), although the height of the main roof is just 130.86 feet (39.89 m) and the height of the top floor is 118.36 feet (36.08 m). It has 11 stories, and a four-story underground parking garage. Reports of the building's interior space vary widely, with 540,000 square feet (50,000 m2) the most recently reported by the mainstream media. The facade is of polished granite and precast concrete in two colors. An atrium three stories in height with 36-foot (11 m) long arched steel trusses forms the lobby. Two very small parks exist on the triangular parcel of land, which are owned by the National Park Service. Acadiana, a 185-seat upscale restaurant on the ground floor which served Louisiana-and Cajun-style seafood was cited by Esquire magazine as one of the best new restaurants in the entire United States in 2006. The restaurant closed in December 2018, and as of January 2019 no replacement tenants have been announced. Miami-based Yardbird Southern Table & Bar has taken Acadiana's former space in April 2021.

Marriott Marquis Washington, DC is a luxury hotel located on Massachusetts Avenue NW, in NW, Washington, D.C., United States. The hotel is connected to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center across 9th Street NW via an underground concourse. The Washington Marriott Marquis is considered a "convention center headquarters hotel", designed both to provide lodging for attendees at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center across the street, and to augment the convention center by providing smaller, more versatile meeting rooms. The hotel has 100,000 square feet (9,300 m2) of meeting room space, which includes a 30,000-square-foot (2,800 m2) main ballroom and two smaller 10,800-square-foot (1,000 m2) ballrooms. The building is topped by a 18,800-square-foot (1,750 m2) glass-encased penthouse, and a 5,200-square-foot (480 m2) outdoor event terrace. The hotel is owned by Capstone Development, the District of Columbia, ING Clarion Real Estate Investment, Marriott International, and Quadrangle Development Corporation. The operator is Marriott International. It opened on May 1, 2014, and has 1,175 rooms (which includes 49 suites), a lobby with multi-story atrium, and four dining outlets on the first floor. The hotel has 14 stories above ground, and four stories below.

The American Federation of Labor Building is a seven-story brick and limestone building located along Massachusetts Avenue in Washington, D.C. Completed in 1916, it served as the headquarters of the American Federation of Labor until 1955, when it merged with the Congress of Industrial Organizations to form the AFL-CIO. It remained a trade union headquarters until 2005, when it was sold to the developers of the Washington Marriott Marquis hotel. The building exterior, the only historical element remaining of the building, is now part of that structure. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1974. It housed the American Federation of Labor for 40 years.

The Cato Institute is an American libertarian think tank headquartered in Washington, D.C. It was founded in 1977 by Ed Crane, Murray Rothbard, and Charles Koch, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Koch Industries. Cato was established to have a focus on public advocacy, media exposure and societal influence. According to the 2017 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report (Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program, University of Pennsylvania), Cato is number 15 in the "Top Think Tanks Worldwide" and number 10 in the "Top Think Tanks in the United States".The Cato Institute is libertarian in its political philosophy, and advocates a limited role for government in domestic and foreign affairs as well as a strong protection of civil liberties. This includes support for lowering or abolishing most taxes, opposition to the Federal Reserve system, the privatization of numerous government agencies and programs including Social Security, the Affordable Care Act and the United States Postal Service, demilitarization of the police, along with adhering to a non-interventionist foreign policy.

The Carpenters Building (also known as United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners-Local 132) is an historic office building located at 1010 10th Street (also known as 1001 K Street, N.W.) Northwest, Washington, D.C., in the Mount Vernon Square neighborhood.

The Samuel Gompers Memorial is a bronze statue in Washington, D.C., listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is located at the intersection of 10th Street, L Street, and Massachusetts Avenue, Northwest, Washington, D.C. The statue is in memory of Samuel Gompers, an English-born American cigar maker, labor union leader and a key figure in American labor history.

1010 Mass is a high-rise building in Washington, D.C. The building rises 15 floors and 157 feet (48 m) in height. The building was designed by architectural firm Esocoff & Associates and was completed in 2007, making it one of the most recently constructed high-rises in the city. As of July 2008, the structure stands as the 24th-tallest building in the city, tied in rank with 1620 L Street, 1333 H Street, 1000 Connecticut Avenue, the Republic Building, 1111 19th Street, the Army and Navy Club Building and the Watergate Hotel and Office Building. 1010 Mass is an example of postmodern architecture, with a facade composed of brick and cast stone. The structure is composed almost entirely of residential units, with a total of 163 condominiums; the lowest floor is used for retail. The entire structure also rises above a 169-unit underground parking garage.

The Morrison-Clark Inn is recognized as a Historic Hotel of America by the National Trust for Historic Preservation

Edmund Burke is a bronze full length statue of Irish statesman, author, orator, political theorist and philosopher Edmund Burke by British artist James Havard Thomas. The original is in Bristol, England, with a second cast on Massachusetts Avenue at 11th and "L" Streets, NW, in Washington, D.C., United States.

Asbury United Methodist Church, originally known as Asbury Chapel, is a historic church in Northwest, Washington, D.C. built on the corner of 11th and K Streets. It was placed on the District of Columbia Register of Historic Places on November 1, 1986. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. In 2003, the National Park Service approved the listing of Asbury on the National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom.
