Sanhattan, a portmanteau of Santiago and Manhattan, is the popular ironic sobriquet given to Chile's capital Santiago's high-end financial district. It is located to the northeast of the capital, in the western end of the Las Condes commune between the Mapocho River and the Américo Vespucio avenue, in the barrios known as El Bosque Norte and El Golf. The main street crossing Sanhattan is Avenida Apoquindo. A narrower definition puts Sanhattan between Andrés Bello and Vitacura avenues, from their intersection down to Nueva Los Leones avenue. The area is home to many new and very expensive buildings housing offices, restaurants, hotels, shopping centers and banks. Two of the tallest buildings in South America are located there: Titanium La Portada, 55 stories and 194 m tall, and Gran Torre Santiago, at 300 m tall and 63 stories, located in the neighboring Providencia commune.

Torre de la Industria (Spanish for Industry Tower) is a high-rise office building in the Las Condes district of Santiago, Chile. Built between 1993 and 1994, the tower stands at 120 m (390 ft) tall with 32 floors and is the current 8th tallest building in Chile.

The Costanera Center Torre 2, better known as Gran Torre Santiago (Great Santiago Tower), and previously known as Torre Gran Costanera, is a 62-story tall skyscraper in Santiago, Chile, the second tallest in Latin America (behind Mexico's T.Op Torre 1). It is the fourth-tallest building in the Southern hemisphere by highest architectural feature (behind New Zealand's Sky Tower, Australia's Q1 Tower and Australia 108) and third-tallest by highest occupied floor (after Australia's Australia 108 and Eureka Tower). It was designed by Argentine architect César Pelli, Chilean architects Alemparte Barreda & Asociados, and the Canadian company Watt International.

Of the two other buildings in the complex, one will be 170 metres (560 ft) high and the other only four stories. Construction was put on hold in January 2009 as a consequence of the late 2000s recession, as the developers were concerned that they would not be able to find tenants if completed by the originally proposed date. After the recession reached its end, Cencosud announced the construction would resume on December 16, 2009. The construction process restarted at the end of 2010. On February 14, 2012, the Gran Torre Santiago reached 300 meters and became the tallest building in South and Latin America.

Tobalaba is a station on the Santiago Metro in Chile, the northern terminus of Line 4 and is the closest station to the Costanera Center. The Line 1 station was opened on 22 August 1980 as part of the extension of the line from Salvador to Escuela Militar. It became an interchange station between Line 1 and the Line 4 on 30 November 2005, when the section of Line 4 between Tobalaba and Grecia was opened, and the appearance of the station was altered.

Barrio Suecia (Spanish for "Swedish neighborhood") is a section of Santiago, Chile, centered on Calle Suecia ("Sweden Street"), in the upscale Providencia municipality, which once included many pubs, discos and restaurants. Frequently the area is simply referred to as "Calle Suecia." A commonly used pun is formed by changing the word Suecia to sucia, Spanish for "dirty", because the area is notorious for drunkenness and debauched nightlife. The amount of venues on Calle Suecia is now much less than previously with many having closed down.

The Jardín Botánico Chagual is a 33.9-hectare Chilean botanical garden in the process of development, focusing on the preservation of plants native to the Mediterranean climatic zone of Chile (between 30° and 38° S latitude). It forms part of the Sistema Nacional de Áreas Protegidas del Estado (SNASPE; National System of Protected Areas of the Country) and of the Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI). It is meant to complement the collections of native plants in the national botanical gardens of Viña del Mar and Valdivia.

El Golf is an underground metro station on the Line 1 of the Santiago Metro, in Santiago, Chile. It is located in El Golf neighborhood, close to the building that serves as the seat of local government for Las Condes. The station was opened on 22 August 1980 as part of the extension of the line from Salvador to Escuela Militar.A work of art by Rodolfo Opazo is installed on the walls of the station.The station is undergoing renovation work to replace the original wall covering. The work was scheduled to be completed in February 2012.
