The Clairton–Glassport Bridge, officially the Senator Edward P. Zemprelli Bridge is a girder bridge that carries vehicular traffic across the Monongahela River between Glassport, Pennsylvania and Clairton, Pennsylvania. It was opened on March 2, 1987, replacing a 1928 arch bridge that stood on the same site. The structure also passes over portions of the U.S. Steel Clairton Works, the largest coke producing facility in the United States.

Clairton is a city in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located along the Monongahela River and is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The population was 6,181 at the 2020 census. Under Pennsylvania legal classifications for local governments, Clairton is considered a third-class city. It is home to Clairton Works operated by U.S. Steel, the largest coke manufacturing facility in the United States. The city was the setting for the movie The Deer Hunter (1978), although none of the movie was actually filmed there (other mill towns in the Monongahela River Valley and elsewhere in the tri-state area were used). The Montour Trail, a recreational rail-trail, extends from Clairton to Coraopolis, Pennsylvania.

Clairton High School is located in suburban Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in Allegheny County in the city of Clairton, United States. It is part of the Clairton City School District. The school serves students in 6th through 12th grades. The school's mascot is the Bear. The school's football team, the Clairton Bears, won their 60th consecutive game on November 23, 2012. This win put the team in the record books for the most consecutive wins for any high school football team in Pennsylvania. The win broke the record set from 1997 to 2000 by Central Bucks West, a suburban Philadelphia school.

Glassport is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States, approximately 10 miles (16 km) south of Pittsburgh and the confluence of the Monongahela and Allegheny rivers where they form the Ohio River. Glassport lies along the east side of the Monongahela River in the "Mon Valley", where many blue-collar municipalities have suffered severe economic decline in the wake of the loss of steel-making throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area. In 1910, the population of Glassport was 5,540. By 1940, it had risen to 8,748, but has since declined to 4,475 as of the 2020 census.

South Allegheny Middle/High School is part of the South Allegheny School District located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. The building houses both middle school students (grades 7 and 8) and high school students (grades 9 through 12). The school serves students from Glassport, Port Vue, Liberty, Lincoln, and parts of Elizabeth. The Union Railroad Clairton Bridge, commonly known as the Clairton Coke Works Bridge, is a truss bridge that formerly carried traffic between Clairton, Pennsylvania and Lincoln, Pennsylvania for the Pennsylvania Union Railroad which is owned and operated by Transtar, Inc., a subsidiary of the United States Steel Corporation. The structure, which featured a single track, has been out of service since the 1970s; rail traffic was rerouted to the US Steel Clairton Works as the steel industry began to decline. The bridge is currently slated to become part of the Montour Trail, one of many current Pittsburgh-area bike trails projects.

Dead Man's Hollow is a 450 acre conservation area located along the Youghiogheny River just south of the City of McKeesport, Pennsylvania. The conservation area spans three municipalities which include Liberty Borough, Lincoln Borough, and Elizabeth Township. The property is owned and managed by Allegheny Land Trust and is open year round to the public for educational and recreational purposes.

Liberty is part of the South Allegheny School District, along with Glassport, Lincoln, and Port Vue, and is home to the district's high school and early childhood center. Liberty was at one time part of Port Vue but gained its "liberty" from Port Vue in 1912, thus the origin of the name of the town. Locals tend to refer to the town as "Liberty Borough" or "Liberty Boro," rather than just as "Liberty."

The Regis R. Malady Bridge, commonly known as the Elizabeth Bridge, is an arch bridge that carries vehicular traffic across the Monongahela River between Elizabeth, Pennsylvania and West Elizabeth, Pennsylvania. The bridge features freeway ramps at either end, with an exit to Third Street in Elizabeth (signed as Elizabeth/Glassport) on the south bank and exits for Route 837 North to Clairton and Route 837 South to West Elizabeth on the north bank. This bridge replaces an 1893 arch structure that crossed at Plum Street. The bridge was renamed in 1985 after Regis Malady, a former Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives whose district included a number of Mon Valley communities.

Lincoln is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 932 at the 2020 United States Census.Lincoln does not have its own post office. Three ZIP codes are used in the borough: 15133 for the northern portion of the borough adjacent to Liberty; 15135 for the eastern portion adjacent to the city of McKeesport; 15037 for the remainder of the borough, with mail addressed to Elizabeth.

The Fifteenth Street Bridge is a girder bridge across the Youghiogheny River connecting the Pittsburgh industrial suburbs of Port Vue and McKeesport, Pennsylvania. The 1995 structure replaced a 1906 truss bridge. The bridge's length is significantly longer than that of several surrounding structures because its crosses both the river and a large water treatment facility. The Youghiogheny River Trail, a portion of the Cumberland, Maryland-to-Pittsburgh Great Allegheny Passage uses the bridge's pedestrian lanes. Through McKeesport, the trail features a designated right of way, while it is officially signed through city streets in Port Vue. As of 2005, the bridge officially became known as the Senator Albert V. “Bud” Belan Bridge after Governor Ed Rendell signed Senate Bill 406. The renaming was in honor of Sen. Belan’s efforts to restore the bridge.
