Clay City is a home rule-class city in Powell County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 1,193 at the 2020 census.

The Clay City National Bank Building, located on 6th Ave. in Clay City, Kentucky, was built in 1890. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. It is a two-story brick building, 28 by 65 feet (8.5 m × 19.8 m) in plan. Its front is three bays wide. It has served as the Red River Historical Museum. It was noted to be "one of the few nineteenth-century buildings to survive in Clay City and the most substantial early structure remaining on the main thoroughfare of the town."

They discovered the Native American settlement of Eskippakaithiki, believed to be the last Indian village in Kentucky. It was also named Indian Old Corn Field. It was established by Peter Chartier, the leader of a band of Shawnee, sometime in 1745.

The community most likely was named after their Masonic lodge. The Right Angle Lodge met on the first Saturday of every month.

Camargo is a home rule-class city in Montgomery County, Kentucky, in the United States. The population was 1,020 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Mount Sterling Micropolitan Statistical Area. The town was named by soldiers returning from the Mexican–American War, either in honor of Camargo in Mexico or a Mexican entertainer of that name. The post office was established in 1848 and closed in 1963.
