Ballinagore GAA

Lilliput (or Nure) is a townland in County Westmeath, Ireland. It is located five miles (8 kilometres) south of Mullingar and lies at the southern end of Lough Ennell. Lilliput covers an area of 244 acres and was recorded with a population of 22. Lilliput is one of 11 townlands in the civil parish of Dysart, in the Barony of Moycashel. It lies in the electoral division of Middleton of the Longford-Westmeath constituency (formerly of the Westmeath constituency. Lilliput is associated with Jonathan Swift, writer of Gulliver's Travels. Local tradition states that Swift was in a boat on the lake, and when he looked back to shore he noticed how small the people looked at that distance. This was the inspiration for the diminutive Lilliputians, who feature in his most famous book Gulliver's Travels. Lilliput at the time was called "Nure": however after the publication of Gulliver's Travels locals began to refer to the lakeshore as "Lilliput". The name stuck and the area was renamed during the 18th century. There is also an early Christian association, in that St. Patrick's sister, Lupita, is known to the Lilliput area, which may also recall her name. Lilliput is the site of Lilliput House, built in the 18th century, and now home to the Lilliput Adventure Centre; it lies in what is now the Jonathan Swift Amenity Park.

Middleton Park House is a mid 19th-century country house in Castletown-Geoghegan, County Westmeath It stands on a gentle hill on a kilometre-long avenue looking towards Lough Ennell. It is a detached six-bay two-storey building with the central two bays slightly projecting from the façade. It has a slate roof and a projecting single-storey limestone Ionic entrance portico. Other features of the house are its under-floor heating system, stone bifurcated staircase leading to the Gallery Landing and three-storey-high atrium lantern located in the Main Hall. At one end of the house is a cast-iron conservatory, one of only a few Richard Turner conservatories to be found in Ireland. After many years of disrepair, the house was restored in mid-2007 and opened to the public as a commercial entity specialising in corporate events and private weddings and as a restaurant. This venture closed in 2016, with the house rapidly falling back in to disrepair. Restoration work to return it to use as family home began in 2019 and has been featured on an RTÉ TV series Great House Revival.

Friarstown is a townland in County Westmeath, Ireland. The townland is located in the civil parish of Clonfad. The southern shores of Lough Ennell borders the townland to the north, and Dalystown is to the east. The River Brosna forms its western border with the townland of Clonsingle.

Lough Ennell (Irish: Loch Ainninn) is a lake near the town of Mullingar, County Westmeath, Ireland. It is situated beside the N52 road, off the Mullingar/Kilbeggan road. The lake is part of the Lough Ennell Special Protection Area. It is 6.5 km (4.0 mi) long by 2 km (1.2 mi) wide, with an area of about 12 km2 (4.6 sq mi). Lough Ennell has a large area of shallow water with nearly two-thirds of its area being less than 25 feet (8 m) and almost half of it being under 10 ft (3.0 m) deep. The lake produced Ireland's largest ever lake brown trout at 26 lbs (11.8 kg).The main river flowing into Lough Ennell is the River Brosna, which enters on the Mullingar side of the lake and exits on the opposite side at Lilliput. Lilliput and Lilliput House were frequently used by Jonathan Swift as a holiday home and place to write, local tradition states that Jonathan Swift was in a boat on the lake when he looked back at Lilliput and noticed how small the people looked at that distance, hence the inspiration for his most famous book Gulliver's Travels. Castletownkindalen (Irish: Baile an Chaisleáin) is a civil parish in County Westmeath, Ireland. It is located about 14.6 kilometres (9 mi) south–west of Mullingar. Castletownkindalen is one of 8 civil parishes in the barony of Moycashel in the Province of Leinster. The civil parish covers 11,368.2 acres (46.005 km2). Cloncrow Bog (New Forest) is a peat bog in County Westmeath, Ireland. The bog is near the village of Tyrrellspass on the R446 regional road. As a raised bog of ecological interest, it was declared a Natural Heritage Area in 2005.

Castletown Geoghegan (Irish: Baile Chaisleáin Mag Eochagán) is a village in County Westmeath, Ireland, and lies south west of Lough Ennell near the county town of Mullingar. It is around 13 km south-west of Mullingar and 19 km north of Tullamore. Castletown was the seat of the Geoghegan family of the medieval Barony of Moycashel in County Westmeath.

Newtown is one of eight civil parishes in the barony of Moycashel in the Province of Leinster. The civil parish covers 10,248.8 acres (41.475 km2).
