Giant's Ring

Ballylesson (from Irish Baile na Leasán, meaning 'townland of the small ringforts') is a small village and townland in County Down, Northern Ireland. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 108 people. The village lies within the Lagan Valley Regional Park and the Lisburn City Council area.

Ballynahatty (from Irish Baile na hÁite Tí 'townland of the house site') is a townland in County Down, Northern Ireland. It lies on the southern edge of Belfast. It contains the Giants Ring, a henge monument.The remains of a woman who was part of a Neolithic farming community were discovered buried in the henge in 1855. Now known as Ballynahatty woman, her genome was sequenced in 2015 and reveals a woman with black hair and brown eyes typical of those with Mediterranean heritage. This implies that Ballynahatty woman was part of a group of Early European Farmers (EEFs) that migrated across Europe in the Neolithic period, originating in the Middle East. Ballynahatty is also the name of a townland, in the parish of Drumragh, County Tyrone.

Edenderry (from Irish Éadan Doire, meaning 'hill-brow of the oak-grove') is a small village and townland in County Down, Northern Ireland. It lies on the bank of the River Lagan near the southern edge of Belfast. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 252. Its main source of employment for its people is work in nearby towns and cities, such as Belfast.

Shaw's Bridge is the name given to two adjacent bridges across the River Lagan in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The older of the bridges is a historic stone arched bridge, which is open to cyclists and pedestrians. The new bridge is a concrete bridge which carries the A55 road.

Belvoir Park Hospital (Irish: Ospidéal Pháirc Belvoir) was a cancer treatment specialist hospital situated in Newtownbreda, South Belfast, Northern Ireland. Belvoir Park held Northern Ireland's only radiotherapy unit, until the opening of a new cancer treatment centre in Belfast City Hospital.

Police Service of Northern Ireland GAA, also known as PSNI GAA, is a Gaelic Games club based in Northern Ireland. The club was set up in 2002 for members of the Police Service of Northern Ireland, with the intent to allow serving police officers to play Gaelic games following the abolition of Rule 21, which had prohibited them from doing so. They are based at Newforge Lane in Belfast alongside other teams affiliated with the RUC Athletic Association. They are affiliated with Antrim GAA and play in their Inter-Firms League. On 18 October 2019 they capped off their most successful year with a win of the Tom Langan trophy for the first time in their history.

Sport Northern Ireland (Irish: Spórt Thuaisceart Éireann), officially known as the Sports Council for Northern Ireland, is the regional government sports council (funding body) for Northern Ireland. Its head office is based, near Barnett Demesne, at the "House of Sport" on Upper Malone Road in Belfast. It receives some funding from the taxpayer (receiving £11m from the Exchequer in 2022/2023), with funding also coming from the National Lottery (£8m in 2016/2017).

Newforge is a country club in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It was founded in 1956 for members of the Royal Ulster Constabulary but has developed into an open club with multiple sports facilities.

The 1999 IAAF World Cross Country Championships took place on 27 and 28 March 1999. The races were held at the Barnett Demesne/Queen's University Playing Fields in Belfast, United Kingdom. Upper Malone, also known as the Dub, is a multi-sport facility owned by Queen's University Belfast. There are fourteen outdoor pitches together with the Arena Pitch, which is the home ground of the university's football, rugby union and Gaelic football teams. It is the only facility in the British Isles that is home to all three codes of football. The Arena Pitch was opened in 2012 following a £20m redevelopment of the site.

HM Prison Hydebank Wood, also known as Hydebank Wood College and Women's Prison, is a women's prison and young offender's centre located in South Belfast.

Belvoir Park Forest is a large forest in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Owned and managed by Forest Service, it was opened in 1961 and covers 75 hectares along the bank of the River Lagan.Archaeological sites within the forest include the remains of a 12th century Norman motte. Wildlife recorded within the park boundaries includes Large Bracket Fungi, Toothwort (lathraea squamaria; L.), Giant Hog-weed (heracleum mantegazzianum; Somm. & Levier), long-eared owls, kingfishers, and long-tailed tits. Badgers and red foxes are also recorded.
