Dunleer

Dunleer railway station is a disused railway station on the Dublin-Belfast railway line in Dunleer, County Louth Ireland. Opened by the Dublin and Belfast Junction Railway in 1851, the station was the major stop between Dundalk and Drogheda. The station survived longer than most following the rationalisation of the railway network, until it was closed by Córas Iompair Éireann in 1984. In the late 20th century, Dunleer's population expanded and it "developed into a local transport hub". As of 2010, the local Dunleer Community Development Board were calling for the railway station to be reopened. While the possibility of the station being rebuilt was referenced in local development plans published in 2009 by Louth County Council, as of 2021 the National Transport Authority reportedly had "no plans" for a station at Dunleer.

Lann Léire CPG is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club that fields gaelic football teams in competitions organised by Louth GAA. It is based in the County Louth town of Dunleer. The club plays home matches at Páirc Uí Mhuirí, named after Larry Murray, the Louth priest who made a significant contribution to GAA affairs in the county and elsewhere. As of 2023, the club competes in the Louth Junior Championship and Division 2 of the county football Leagues. Former Louth captain Nicky Malone is the senior team manager.

Drumcar (Irish: Droim Chora, meaning 'ridge of the weir') is a village and a historical parish, in the barony of Ardee in County Louth, Ireland.

Drumcar House (later: St. Mary's Hospital; currently: Saint John of God Residence) is a manor house in the historical parish of Drumcar in the barony of Ardee, 1 mile (1.6 km) northeast of Dunleer, County Louth, Leinster, Ireland. The house was built in 1777. It was home to the McClintock family from then to the 1940s, stemming from Alexander McClintock (1692–1775). One of its best known owners was John McClintock (1770–1855), a magistrate for County Louth, and formerly Serjeant at Arms in the Irish House of Commons, who was known to be occupying the estate in 1805 and until his death. The house was sold in about 1903 by The 2nd Baron Rathdonnell to his cousin, Frank McClintock (1853–1924), Rector of Drumcar and Dean of Armagh. In 1948, it became St. Mary's Hospital, a colony for the mentally ill. Still later, it was converted to Saint John of God Residence, a hospital/infirmary. Drumcar House is listed in the Record of Protected Structures maintained by Louth County Council.

Tinure (Irish: Tigh an Iúir, meaning 'house of the yew') is a small village and townland in the parish of Monasterboice, County Louth, Ireland. The official spelling of the village's name is Tinure (which is derived from Tigh an Iúir) however it is also sometimes referred to as "Tenure". Tinure is predominantly rural in character, although there has been some new housing constructed in recent years. It falls within the scope of Drogheda Town, to its south, and Dunleer Town, to its north, which provide employment for many of the village's residents. There is a small business park located on the northern edge of the village, with a number of services firms on site. The village population increased from 296 inhabitants as of the 2002 census, to 464 as of the 2016 census. The population is almost evenly distributed between male and female, male at 230 and female at 234. This growth can be largely attributed to its proximity to the M1 motorway, which has improved transport linkages to the locality.Tinure is known for its Roman Catholic Church, The Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, which was constructed in 1894. It is located on the main junction of the five roads that intersect the village.

The Monasterboice (Irish: Mainistir Bhuithe) ruins are the remains of an early Christian monastic settlement in County Louth in Ireland, north of Drogheda. The ruins are a national monument of Ireland and also give their name to the local village.

Muiredach's High Cross is a high cross from the 10th or possibly 9th century, located at the ruined monastic site of Monasterboice, in County Louth, Ireland. There are two other high crosses at Monasterboice; in local terms Muiredach's cross is also known as the South Cross. Muiredach's cross is the most impressive surviving example of early medieval Irish stonework, and the crosses at Monasterboice have been said to be Ireland's greatest contribution to European sculpture.

The club pitch is located in the mid-Louth village of Castlebellingham. Players are drawn from Castlebellingham, Kilsaran and surrounding areas. As of 2023, the club competes in the Louth Intermediate Championship and Division 2 of the county football Leagues. John Garvey is the manager of the senior team.
