The Monasterboice (Irish: Mainistir Bhuithe) ruins are the remains of an early Christian monastic settlement in County Louth in Ireland, north of Drogheda. The ruins are a national monument of Ireland and also give their name to the local village.

Muiredach's High Cross is a high cross from the 10th or possibly 9th century, located at the ruined monastic site of Monasterboice, in County Louth, Ireland. There are two other high crosses at Monasterboice; in local terms Muiredach's cross is also known as the South Cross. Muiredach's cross is the most impressive surviving example of early medieval Irish stonework, and the crosses at Monasterboice have been said to be Ireland's greatest contribution to European sculpture.

Tinure (Irish: Tigh an Iúir, meaning 'house of the yew') is a small village and townland in the parish of Monasterboice, County Louth, Ireland. The official spelling of the village's name is Tinure (which is derived from Tigh an Iúir) however it is also sometimes referred to as "Tenure". Tinure is predominantly rural in character, although there has been some new housing constructed in recent years. It falls within the scope of Drogheda Town, to its south, and Dunleer Town, to its north, which provide employment for many of the village's residents. There is a small business park located on the northern edge of the village, with a number of services firms on site. The village population increased from 296 inhabitants as of the 2002 census, to 464 as of the 2016 census. The population is almost evenly distributed between male and female, male at 230 and female at 234. This growth can be largely attributed to its proximity to the M1 motorway, which has improved transport linkages to the locality.Tinure is known for its Roman Catholic Church, The Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, which was constructed in 1894. It is located on the main junction of the five roads that intersect the village.

Tullyallen (Irish: Tulaigh Álainn, meaning 'beautiful hill') is a village, civil parish and townland (of 224 acres) 6 km north-west of the town of Drogheda in County Louth, Ireland. It is in the historic Barony of Ferrard. It is located in the historical Boyne Valley, in the Catholic parish of Mellifont (named after the nearby Mellifont Abbey); it is also close to Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth burial mounds, Monasterboice monastery, and to the Battle of the Boyne site.

Glen Emmets GFC is a Gaelic Football club located in Tullyallen, County Louth, Ireland, close to the town of Drogheda, which fields teams in competitions organised by Louth GAA. Founded in 1958, the club competes in the Louth Intermediate Championship and Division 2 of the county football Leagues. Ray Lambe is the manager of the club's senior team.

The Boyne Obelisk, also known as King William's Obelisk, was an obelisk located in Oldbridge, near Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland.

Oliver Plunketts GFC is a GAA club located in Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland. From its base on the Slane road, the club serves the Mell Parish in West Drogheda and fields gaelic football teams in competitions organised by Louth GAA. In 1957 the club won the Louth Senior Football Championship, defeating St Mary's of Ardee. They went on to complete the League and Championship double that year by beating Dundalk Young Irelands in the final of the Cardinal O'Donnell Cup.Oliver Plunketts currently compete in the Louth Junior Championship and Division 3A of the county football Leagues, after being relegated from the Intermediate grade in 2022. Emmet Kelleher is team manager for 2023.

The Battle of the Boyne (Irish: Cath na Bóinne IPA: [ˈkah n̪ˠə ˈbˠoːn̠ʲə]) was a battle in 1690 between the forces of the deposed King James II, and those of King William III who, with his wife Queen Mary II (his cousin and James's daughter), had acceded to the Crowns of England and Scotland in 1689. The battle took place across the River Boyne close to the town of Drogheda in the Kingdom of Ireland, modern-day Republic of Ireland, and resulted in a victory for William. This turned the tide in James's failed attempt to regain the British crown and ultimately aided in ensuring the continued Protestant ascendancy in Ireland. The battle took place on 1 July 1690 O.S. William's forces defeated James's army, which consisted mostly of raw recruits. Although the Williamite War in Ireland continued until the signing of the Treaty of Limerick in October 1691, James fled to France after the Boyne, never to return.

Drogheda Park (Irish: Páirc Dhroichead Átha) is a GAA stadium in Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland. It is the home of the Louth gaelic football team. The ground has a capacity of about 3,500. It is one of the smallest county GAA stadium in Ireland. O'Raghallaighs GFC also use the county grounds for club games.

O'Raghallaighs GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association club from Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland. The club fields Gaelic football teams in competitions organised by Louth GAA. The club has GAA Handball teams and the ladies football team is an amalgamation with the Slane Road team Oliver Plunketts GFC, forming the O'Raghallaighs/Oliver Plunketts Ladies GAA. The club plays home fixtures in the Louth county grounds, situated beside United Park - the home of Drogheda United. As of 2023, the O'Raghallaighs currently compete in the Intermediate Championship and in Division 1 of the county's football leagues.

Weavers Park, also known as United Park, and formerly O2 Park, Hunky Dorys Park and Head In The Game Park for sponsorship purposes, is a football stadium in Drogheda, Ireland. The ground has been home to League of Ireland side Drogheda United since 1979. It was officially opened on 12 August 1979 with a friendly against Queens Park Rangers F.C. In October 1993, the first match under floodlights took place with a 2-1 win over Shamrock RoversThe ground has a capacity of 3,500 with 1,500 seats. During the middle of 2010, renovations took place to bring the venue up to licensing standards: changes include the addition of seats to the GAA side of the ground (to bring the seating capacity up to 1,500), new toilet facilities and a new covered section dedicated to wheelchair users.The ground was also known briefly as O2 Park during 2002 and 2003, as part of a sponsorship deal with the telecommunications company O2. The stadium used to hold 5,400, though the safe capacity is now set at 2000 by the Louth County Fire Officer.The stadium has also hosted five Republic of Ireland under-21 national football team games and other international underage games including games in the 1994 UEFA European Under-16 Football Championship. Proposals were made to sell the site and build a 10,000 all seater new stadium on the outskirts of the town. In July 2008, planning permission was given to Drogheda United by Meath County Council, however, the plans eventually fell through.

Moneymore (Irish: An Mhónaidh Mhór, meaning 'large bog') is a townland and housing estate in Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland. The townland of Moneymore lies on the northside of Drogheda, and has an area of approximately 2.9 square kilometres (1 sq mi).Moneymore estate comprises both bungalow and two storey homes. Built in the 1980s by Drogheda Corporation (now Drogheda Borough Council), the housing estate contains 244 houses, a boxing club, Moneymore Football Club, Moneymore Community Creche and Connect Family Resource Centre. In March 2009, there was a large house fire at Moneymore, in which the residents of the house, the McDonagh family, lost three family members.As of 2020, the Moneymore estate was reported to be site of violence related to a "gangland" "drug feud".
