2004 Tecate/Telmex Grand Prix of Monterrey

The Tecate/Telmex Grand Prix of Monterrey was a round of the Champ Car World Series held on a street circuit at Fundidora park in Monterrey, Mexico. It was first held in 2001, and it was held for the last time in 2006.

The Museum of Steel, known as the Museo del Acero, is located in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. The Museo del Acero is one of the largest museums ever created in Mexico. It is located on the site of the very large Fundidora steel plant that was decommissioned in the mid 1980s. For 80 years, the Fundidora plant was an important part of the economic and social fabric of this city of 3.7 million people, and its conversion to a major educational facility has been very well received. The new museum, built in and around a decommissioned blast furnace, has emerged as a new focal point for the region The newly restored 230-foot (70 m)-high blast furnace Horno No. 3, the city’s most recognizable icon dominating the Monterrey skyline, makes the museum unique. The Oficina de Arquitectura partnered with Grimshaw Architects and exhibit designers AldrichPears Associates to create a museum, while preserving its historical character. New galleries include: Gallery of History, Gallery of Steel, The Blast Furnace Show and the Cast Hall. The Museo del Acero opened in the Fundidora Park in the fall of 2007.

The 2005 Tecate/Telmex Monterrey Grand Prix was the second round of the 2005 Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford season, held on May 22, 2005 on the streets of Fundidora Park in Monterrey, Mexico. Sébastien Bourdais was the polesitter and the race winner was Bruno Junqueira. The race was Junqueria's eighth and last victory in an American open wheel racing event. Junqueria was seriously injured in a crash at the 2005 Indianapolis 500 the following weekend and missed the rest of the Champ Car season.

The 2001 Tecate/Telmex Grand Prix of Monterrey was a Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART) motor race held on March 11, 2001 at Fundidora Park in Monterrey, Mexico in front of a crowd of 116,000 people. It was the first round of the 2001 CART FedEx Championship Series season and the inaugural open-wheel race at Monterrey (not to be confused with the Monterey Grand Prix at Laguna Seca in California). It was the first time CART had raced in Mexico since 1981. Newman/Haas Racing driver Cristiano da Matta led 32 laps of a timed race en route to his second career victory and his first with the team. Defending series champion Gil de Ferran finished 2nd and Paul Tracy finished 3rd. Despite leading much the first half of the race and starting on pole, Team Rahal driver Kenny Bräck finished 5th after he first experienced engine difficulties and then brake problems later on. Multiple drivers and teams experienced difficulties with their cars as this was the first full race of the season. The race distance was shortened from 80 to 78 laps to comply with the two-hour time limit. There were five lead changes and three cautions. The race was considered a huge success for an inaugural event, and it remained on the CART calendar until 2006; its success inspired a second event in Mexico City from 2002 to 2007.

Fundidora Park (Parque Fundidora in Spanish) is an urban park located in the Mexican city of Monterrey, built in what once were the grounds of the Monterrey Foundry, the first steel and iron foundry in Latin America, and, for many years, the most important one in the region.

Auditorio Citibanamex (formerly named Auditorio Coca-Cola, Auditorio Fundidora and Auditorio Banamex) is an indoor amphitheatre, located in Fundidora Park, in Monterrey, Nuevo León. It was the primary venue for concerts until the Arena Monterrey opened in 2003. The amphitheatre opened in 1994 with a sponsorship by The Coca-Cola Company. When the venue was used less frequently, Mexican financial group Grupo Financiero Banamex, became its new sponsor with a $20 million investment. The venue closed for nearly two years to set forth renovations, which included updating the overall structure of the venue, converting it to an indoor amphitheatre. Additional upgrades included showrooms, a lounge along with other recreational areas. The venue reopened in September 2010 with a three-month-long celebration, featuring concerts by: Vicente Fernández, Alejandra Guzmán, Chayanne, Marco Antonio Solís and Miguel Bosé. The amphitheatre is used for mid-sized concerts, attracting numerous international performers every year.

Arena Monterrey is an indoor arena in Monterrey, Mexico. It is primarily used for shows, concerts and indoor sports like indoor soccer, arena football and basketball. It used to be the home arena of the Monterrey Fury indoor soccer team and the Fuerza Regia, a professional basketball team in the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional; the Monterrey La Raza, a team in the NISL; and the Monterrey Steel, an indoor American football team in the National Arena League. The Arena Monterrey is owned by Publimax S.A. de C.V. (TV Azteca Northeast), part of the Avalanz Group, who owns 80% and by TV Azteca who owns 20%. The arena is 45,000 m2 (480,000 square feet) in size.

The Y Griega Station (Spanish: Estación Y Griega) is a station on Line 1 of the Monterrey Metro, a light rail system in Monterrey, Mexico. The station was opened on 25 April 1991 as part of the inaugural section of Line 1, going from San Bernabé to Exposición.This station is named after the Y-junction that Avenues Colón and Madero make, and its logo represents it in the form of a letter "Y". The Y Griega station is a major transfer station as many buses that service communities off the Metropolitan area such as Pesquería connect to the Metro system at the Y Griega station. A bus line operated by the Nuevo Leon State Government called the Ruta Express (Express Route) operates from this station to the airport. The Y Griega station also serves the Fundidora Park.This station is in the Acero neighborhood (Colonia Acero) and it is close to Parque Fundidora.

The Parque Fundidora Station (Spanish: Estación Parque Fundidora) is a station on Line 1 of the Monterrey Metro. It is located in the intersection of Pablo A. de la Garza Avenue and Colon Avenue in the Pablo A. de la Garza neighborhood. The station was opened on 25 April 1991 as part of the inaugural section of Line 1, going from San Bernabé to Exposición.This station serves the Pablo A. de la Garza and Acero neighborhoods (Colonias Pablo A. de la Garza y Acero), this station is important due to its proximity to the public Fundidora Park and the Monterrey Arena. It is accessible for people with disabilities. This station is named for the nearby Fundidora Park (Parque Fundidora in Spanish), and its logo represents trees in a park.

Torre Ciudadana (Spanish for Citizen Tower) also known as the Centro de Gobierno Plaza Civica is a state government office skyscraper in Monterrey, Mexico. Built between 2007 and 2010, the tower stands at 180 m (590 ft) tall with 36 floors, is the current 21st tallest building in Mexico and the 7th tallest in Monterrey.

The Salón de la Fama del Beisbol Profesional de México (in English, Mexican Professional Baseball Hall of Fame), commonly called the Salón de la Fama (Hall of Fame) is a baseball hall of fame and museum located in Monterrey, Nuevo León. It is dedicated to recognizing people who have contributed greatly to baseball in México. It had its first five inductees in 1939, 167 individuals, called inmortales, have been inducted into the Hall (as of 2006).

The Félix U. Gómez Station (Spanish: Estación Félix U. Gómez) is a station on Lines 1 and 3 of the Monterrey Metro. It is located in the intersection of Felix U. Gómez Avenue and Colon Avenue in Monterrey Centre. The station was opened on 25 April 1991 as part of the inaugural section of Line 1, going from San Bernabé to Exposición.This station serves the northeast side of the downtown area and also the Terminal neighborhood (Colonia Terminal). It is accessible for people with disabilities. This station is named after the Felix U. Gómez Avenue, and its logo represents a cannon, since Felix U. Gómez was a Mexican Military General and revolutionary. This station also connects with the "MetroBus" system.
