The Big Texan Steak Ranch is a steakhouse restaurant and motel located in Amarillo, Texas, United States, which opened on the previous U.S. Route 66 in the 4500 block of East Amarillo Boulevard in 1960. It relocated to its present location on Interstate 40 in 1970. Fire gutted the west wing of the restaurant in 1976 and destroyed $100,000 in antiques. The restaurant reopened as a larger facility in 1977. The building is painted a bright yellow, with blue trim. A large bull statue advertises their "free" 72 oz. steak (see below). The now-closed Texas Tornado Museum resided off in a far corner of the parking lot on the property.

Splash Amarillo Waterpark was a family-friendly waterpark located in Amarillo, Texas. It was originally built as FireWater Waterpark in May 2000. It sat on a 13-acre (53,000 m2) site just half a mile down Interstate 40 from the Big Texan Steak Ranch. Attractions consisted of a 14,000-square-foot (1,300 m2) wave pool, 845-foot (258 m) long lazy river, a tower housing six separate slides, kids pool, and kids play tower. It also features a gift shop, concession stand, volleyball courts, and an arcade. It closed in 2016, and all the slides will be relocated to a new park in Plainview called Royal Splash Texas, which will open in 2017.

Caprock High School is located in Amarillo, Texas in Potter, County, which is part of the Texas Panhandle. Caprock is one of four high schools in the Amarillo Independent School District and classified as a 5A school by the UIL. Caprock was built in 1964 and celebrated its 50th graduating class in 2014. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.

KPUR (1440 AM), branded as "Sportsradio 1440", is a radio station serving the Amarillo, Texas, area with a sports format. This station is under ownership of Cumulus Media. Its studios are located at the Amarillo Building downtown on Polk Street, and its transmitter tower is based southeast of Amarillo in unincorporated Randall County along Loop 335 (Hollywood Road). KPUR was once KFDA on 1230 kHz. It hit the air in 1939. After World War II, Amarillo station KGNC moved from 1440 kHz to 710 kHz with greater power. KFDA filed to move to the vacated 1440 raising power from 250 watts on 1230 to 5,000 watts days and 1,000 watts nights. Night used a three tower directional antenna system. The call letters changed to KPUR in 1966. The station was sold by former television partner KFDA-TV (and Texas State Network interests) to Charlie Jordan, the manager at the time. The towers were located east of Amarillo just south of the former Route 66 (now I-40) which shared land with the studios. In the mid seventies the land was largely sold off to shopping center developers. Towers were relocated to the present site. That site was subject to a late 1970s fire when a Harris MW-5 transmitter melted down. The MW-5 used a step up transformer to raise the three phase input power (at 240 volts) to 17,000 volts. The primary wiring had been bundled closely to the secondary wiring and tightly lashed together. When an insulation breakdown allowed the input wiring to arc, the high temperatures allowed the secondary wires to short to the inputs. This caused extremely high circulating currents and a meltdown of the transformer frame (made of metal castings and laminations). The station is an affiliate of the Dallas Cowboys radio network and the West Texas Friday Night Scoreboard Show.On March 30, 2012 KPUR changed their format from sports to oldies, branded as "True Oldies". On October 22, 2012 KPUR changed their format back to sports, branded as "ESPN 1440" with programming from ESPN Radio. On January 2, 2013 KPUR switched affiliations from ESPN Radio to CBS Sports Radio, branded as "Sportsradio 1440".

The Amarillo National Center is a 10,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Amarillo, Texas. It was built in 2000. Along with the Amarillo Civic Center, it hosts local concerts and sporting events for the Amarillo area. The arena contains 5,000 permanent seats and its 45,000-square-foot (4,200 m2) arena floor can hold an additional 5,000 floor seats. The center is named for locally owned Amarillo National Bank.

The American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame and Museum was created by the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), based in Amarillo, Texas. Ground breaking construction of the Hall of Fame Museum began in 1989. The distinction is earned by people and horses who have contributed to the growth of the American Quarter Horse and "have been outstanding over a period of years in a variety of categories". In 1982, Bob Denhardt and Ernest Browning were the first individuals to receive the honor of being inducted into the AQHA Hall of Fame. In 1989, Wimpy P-1, King P-234, Leo and Three Bars were the first horses inducted into the AQHA Hall of Fame.

The American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), based in Amarillo, Texas, is an international organization dedicated to the preservation, improvement and record-keeping of the American Quarter Horse. The association sanctions many competitive events and maintains the official registry. The organization also houses the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame and Museum and sponsors educational programs. The organization was founded in 1940 in Fort Worth, Texas, and now has nearly 234,627 members, over 32,000 of whom are international.

The 15,000-capacity Dick Bivins Stadium is a stadium in Amarillo, Texas, USA, located at 800 S Marrs Street on the city's east side. It is primarily used for American football, and is the home field of the Amarillo Independent School District (AISD). During the season, many Texas Panhandle area high school football teams play regular and post-season games here. These schools include the four AISD-affiliated high schools: Amarillo High, Caprock High, Tascosa High, and Palo Duro High. The stadium is named after Dick Bivins, Amarillo civic leader and nephew of Lee Bivins. It has the distinction of being the first stadium in the world to use the next-generation artificial turf surface FieldTurf (an artificial turf that closely resembles natural grass by using sand and rubber as an infill material), which it first installed in 1998.

Pullman was an unincorporated community in Potter County, located in the U.S. state of Texas. It is now within the city limits of Amarillo.

Potter County Memorial Stadium is a baseball-only stadium in Amarillo, Texas. It was most recently home to the Texas AirHogs, a professional baseball team and member of the American Association, and the West Texas A&M Buffaloes baseball team, which is a member of the Division II Lone Star Conference. It was home to the Amarillo Dillas of United League Baseball until 2010. It broke ground in 1948, and opened in 1949. It is nicknamed Dilla Villa, dating back prior to Amarillo National Bank's purchase of naming rights when the Dillas made their first appearance in Amarillo in 1994. Following the 2016 season it was announced the AirHogs would not be returning to Amarillo citing "deplorable" field conditions.

KJRT (88.3 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a religious radio format. Licensed to Amarillo, Texas, United States, the station is currently owned by the Kingdom Keys Network.

The Llano Cemetery Historic District is a historic district in Amarillo, Texas. The Llano Cemetery makes up the majority of the district on S Hayes St. The Llano Pantheon Mausoleum in the center of the cemetery was constructed in 1927. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 21, 1992.
