Cupidstown Hill (from Irish Cnoc Bhaile Cupid 'hill of Cupidstown'), at 379 metres (1,243 ft), is the highest point in County Kildare, Ireland, and lies on the fringes of the Wicklow Mountains, 11.6 kilometres (7.2 mi) east of Naas.

The Red Bog (Irish: an Mhóin Rua) Special Area of Conservation or SAC is a Natura 2000 site in County Kildare, close to the town of Blessington in County Wicklow, Ireland. The qualifying interests by which it is protected as an SAC are the presence of a specific habitat type: transitional mires and quaking bogs.

Rathmore (Irish: An Ráth Mhór or An Ráith Mór, meaning 'big fort'), a village, civil parish and District electoral division in County Kildare, Ireland, is located at the western edge of the Wicklow Mountains in the barony of Naas North. The original settlement was at the southwest corner of the English Pale, serving an important function as a border fortress during the medieval period.

The Battle of Glenn Máma or Glenmama (Irish: Cath Ghleann Máma, The Battle of "The Glen of the Gap") took place most probably near Lyons Hill in Ardclough, County Kildare, Ireland, in AD 999 between Windmill Hill and Blackchurch. It was the decisive and only engagement of the brief Leinster revolt of 999–1000 against the King of Munster, Brian Boru. In it, the combined forces of the Kingdoms of Munster and Meath, under King Brian Boru and the High King of Ireland, Máel Sechnaill II, inflicted a crushing defeat on the allied armies of Leinster and Dublin, led by King Máel Mórda of Leinster. The two armies met in a narrow valley, causing a rout of Máel Mórda's army in at least three directions. They were pursued, and the main body of the army was slaughtered when they rallied at several fording points along the River Liffey. The main commanders were either killed or captured. The battle resulted in the occupation of Dublin by Brian's Munster forces, and the submission of Máel Mórda and King Sigtrygg Silkbeard of Dublin to Brian Boru. The solution did not prove permanent, however, and eventually resulted in the second Leinster revolt against Brian and the Battle of Clontarf in 1014.

Hempstown and Hempstown Commons are neighbouring townlands, located in Wicklow and Kildare Counties respectively, in Ireland. Separated by the N81 road, the two are located approximately two miles from Blessington. The area consists of mainly arable farmland, dairy cows, cattle, and sheep farming. Industries include concrete manufacturing and shale quarries. Hempstown Clay Pigeon Club [1] use some of these quarries as a clay pigeon shooting ground.

Red Gap, also known as Saggart Hill or Slieve Thoul, is a hill 397 metres above sea level situated 16 kilometres southwest of Dublin city centre in the Dublin Mountains close to Saggart and Rathcoole. The hill gets its name from the townland of 'Redgap' which lies just to the north of it. Today, Red Gap is home to farmland and telecommunication masts. The hill has FM radio transmitters for Newstalk, Kfm, LMFM, iRadio and East Coast FM. The hill is also home to low-power fill in transmitters of Nova 100 and 4FM, designed to cover the Dublin commuter belt The old-time song "Campbell's farewell to Red Gap" is believed to be referring to this hill.

Athgoe (Irish: Áth Gó, meaning 'ford of the water') is the name of an area constituting three townlands situated in the Barony of Newcastle, in South Dublin, Ireland located near the Dublin/Kildare border. The townlands are Athgoe, Athgoe North and Athgoe South.

Golden Hill quarry, is a former granite quarry on Golden Hill, adjacent to the village of Manor Kilbride, County Wicklow, Ireland. Its exact coordinates are unknown. Dr. Patrick Wyse Jackson, curator of the Geological Museum at Trinity College Dublin, hypothesised that the Golden Hill granite was so named due to it having been partially weathered in situ, with the result that the "slightly altered feldspars" gave the rock "a brownish hue". When the quarry was exhausted sometime between 1820 and 1850, the associated workers moved to Ballyknockan a short distance away where a complex of granite quarries were founded.

Oughterard (; Irish: Uachtar Árd, “a high place”) is an ecclesiastical hilltop site, graveyard, townland, and formerly a parish, borough and royal manor in County Kildare, nowadays part of the community of Ardclough, close to the Dublin border. It is the burial place of Arthur Guinness.

Blessington House, Blessington Manor, the Manor House of Blessington, or Downshire House (post-1789) was a large estate house in Blessington, County Wicklow, Ireland built in 1673, and destroyed during the 1798 Rebellion. It was never rebuilt.

Eadestown (; Irish: Baile Éide) is a townland and parish in County Kildare, Ireland. It is situated on the R410 Regional Road south of Naas, between Naas and Blessington, County Wicklow.
