Dunedin railway station

Dunedin Railways (formerly the Taieri Gorge Railway) is the trading name of Dunedin Railways Limited, an operator of a railway line and tourist trains based at Dunedin Railway Station in the South Island of New Zealand. The company is a council-controlled trading organisation wholly owned by Dunedin City Council through its holding company Dunedin City Holdings Limited.

The Dunedin Law Courts is a notable historic building in central Dunedin, in the South Island of New Zealand. They are located at the corner of Lower Stuart Street and Anzac Square, directly opposite the city's historic railway station. Since 1902, the building has been used as the city's law courts, and contains four court rooms, including the ornate High Court, as well as housing the offices and library of the Law Society.

The Otago Pioneer Women's Memorial Hall (also known as the Otago Pioneer Women's Memorial Association Building) is a building in Dunedin, New Zealand, registered as a Category 1 historic place by Heritage New Zealand.

The Toitū Otago Settlers Museum is a regional history museum in Dunedin, New Zealand. Its brief covers the territory of the old Otago Province, that is, New Zealand from the Waitaki River south, though its main focus is the city of Dunedin. It is New Zealand's oldest history museum.

First Church is a prominent church in the New Zealand city of Dunedin. It is located in the heart of the city on Moray Place, 100 metres to the south of the city centre. The church is the city's primary Presbyterian church. The building is regarded as the most impressive of New Zealand's nineteenth-century churches, and is listed by Heritage New Zealand as a Category I structure.

The Centre City Mall is the oldest existing and second largest shopping complex in Dunedin, New Zealand. Located in the central city, it is bounded by Great King Street and Castle Street in the block between St. Andrew's Street and Hanover Street, immediately to the south of Dunedin Hospital. The mall, built in the late 1970s, contains 20 shops, with the key tenant being Dunedin's largest supermarket, Centre City New World. Other shops include several clothing retailers, chemists, a cafe, a musical instrument retailer, a health food store, craft shops, and a florist. The design of the centre (excluding New World) is roughly square and single-storeyed, with a block of shops in the centre of a corridor loop, with the other shops to the outside. The New World supermarket extends from the southeastern end of this square along Castle Street. To the north is the mall's car park, which also has a subterranean level beneath the mall itself. A walkway, Albion Place, links Centre City with Dunedin's largest mall, the Meridian Mall.

Lan Yuan, Dunedin Chinese Garden, is located in the city of Dunedin in southern New Zealand. It is sited next to the Toitū Otago Settlers Museum close to the centre of the city and numerous other of the city's tourist attractions, including the Dunedin Railway Station and Queens Gardens.

Toroa is a 1989 sculpture by New Zealand artist Peter Nicholls. It is located on the foreshore of Otago Harbour in the city of Dunedin, New Zealand. It is part of the collection of Dunedin Public Art Gallery. The work stands 4 metres (13 ft) in height, and is created from large cuts of wood arrayed so as to represent the wings of an albatross (toroa is the Māori word for albatross). Dunedin's Otago Peninsula, visible from the sculpture's site, is the location of the only breeding colony of royal albatross on an inhabited mainland. Academic Peter Leech has commented that Toroa captures "the paradox of flight in that winged ponderousness and spine muscularity of the bird heaving its half ton-ness off the ground in a ruffle of massive feathers." Toroa was originally created from macrocarpa timber, which was prone to weathering, and was reconstructed in South American purpleheart hardwood in 2020.

4ZB was an adult contemporary radio station in Dunedin, New Zealand.

The Cenotaph in the southern New Zealand city of Dunedin stands in the centre of Queen's Gardens, close to the city centre. It is the city's main war memorial.

Dunedin Athenaeum and Mechanics' Institute is an adult education institute based in a heritage building in Dunedin, New Zealand. The private organisation provided classes and a library for members. Presently it operates a subscription lending library, and includes a basement theatre that has been operated by the Dunedin Collaborative Theatre Trust since 2016. The Athenaeum building is one of the oldest athenaeums in New Zealand still used for its original purpose, and is classified as a "Category I" ("places of 'special or outstanding historical or cultural heritage significance or value'") historic place by Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga, previously known as the New Zealand Historic Places Trust.

The Hanover Street Baptist Church was the first Baptist church in Dunedin, New Zealand. It is no longer used for worship and has been renamed Hanover Hall. The present building, the second for the congregation, was designed by Edmund Anscombe (1874–1948) and completed in 1912. As its name suggests, it is located in Hanover Street, 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) northeast of the city centre, close to the medical school. Initially Dunedin Baptists worshipped with other Free Church groups until they established themselves in a building of their own. The church and its Sunday school were founded in 1863. A Superintendent of Otago Thomas Dick (1823–1900) was one of the initial trustees. Dr William Purdie, an Edinburgh graduate and an early and distinguished medical practitioner in Dunedin, was a founding father. A number of notable politicians and other well-known New Zealanders have been connected with the church including Dame Silvia Cartwright, a former Governor-General of New Zealand, who spent most of her younger years in Dunedin.The congregation moved to another site in 1996. The building was unoccupied for a couple of years before being turned into a series of short lived restaurants and nightclubs. The structure is a fine design and was provided with good stained glass windows, some of which were removed when it was converted from a church to a bar. The present floor is apparently built some three feet above the original. While the overhead balcony pews appear to be intact they do not seem to be in good condition. One of the most interesting features is a pipe organ, which is believed to be only the second of its kind in New Zealand. (The other is at the Dunedin Town Hall.) The instrument has not been serviced for some time and it is uncertain whether it is in working condition. There is a bell tower, a prominent feature of the locality. The building has been classified a Category I historic place by Heritage New Zealand, with registration number 4792. It needs attention to restore its original character. Until the mid-2010s it was occupied by a business called The Monkey Bar, and bore related signage until October 2018. In 2016 it was purchased by a local couple for the purpose of housing the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra and was officially reopened for this purpose and renamed "Hanover Hall" in November 2018 by the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern.
