Pendleton Heights High School, also known as "PHHS," is a public high school in Pendleton, Indiana. It is part of the South Madison Community School Corporation and has an enrollment of around 1,400 students.

The Pendleton Historic District is a national historic district located at Pendleton, Madison County, Indiana. Sites of interest include a relatively intact 19th-century business district, Fall Creek Park, the Grey Goose Inn (built in 1820), and a large variety of homes in Federal, Greek Revival, and American Craftsman styles. The structures within the district are described in detail in the 1984 Madison County Interim Report, which was part of the Indiana Historical Sites and Structures Inventory (IHSSI). The historic district includes the original 1821 plat by Thomas M. Pendleton and several of the subsequent plat additions.The historic district includes the historic portion of Falls Park. Pendleton, the first settlement in Madison County, was originally formed by homesteaders attracted to the scenic beauty—and hydrologic potential (for water mills)--of the falls.In 1825, an important milestone was marked in Native American rights when the European-American perpetrators of the Fall Creek Massacre were hanged near the falls.In 1843, Frederick Douglass spoke in Pendleton as one of the American Anti-Slavery Society's Hundred Conventions. The gathered crowd was dispersed by an armed mob that chased Douglass, overtaking and beating him near the falls. He was saved by local Quakers, with whom he remained friends with throughout his life. A historic marker in Pendleton commemorates Douglass's speech here. Falls Park is also historically significant as a noted recreational destination between 1921 and the 1950s. During this time, the area below the falls was made into a natural pool. In 1923 it was announced as one of the best, if not the best, swimming location in the state.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

The Solomon Fussell Farm is located 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Pendleton, Madison County, Indiana on State Road 38 at the junction of county road 150 West. The main feature is a 2+1⁄2-story log house built by Samuel Fussell in 1832. Extensive later additions have been attached to the rear. Also existent are out buildings including a barn. The Fussell family were members of the local Quaker community. Several members of the Fussell family are buried in the cemetery of the nearby Fall Creek Meeting House. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992 and delisted in 2011.

WQME (98.7 FM) is a non-commercial radio station licensed to Anderson, Indiana, United States, serving the Indianapolis and Muncie media markets. Owned by the Educational Media Foundation, the station broadcasts EMF's Air1 network, playing Christian worship music. Listener donations support the station's expenses. WQME previously aired a locally programmed Christian adult contemporary format branded as 98.7 The Song. In December 2017, Anderson University, the owner, announced its intent to sell WQME.On May 31, 2018, the station ceased local programming, switching to the Educational Media Foundation's Air1 network. The university formally sold WQME to EMF outright on October 31, 2018. The sale was completed on November 30.On January 1, 2019 Air1 switched from its longtime Christian CHR/Top 40 format to a Christian worship format.

The Correctional Industrial Facility, otherwise known as the CIF, is an Indiana Department of Corrections prison located in Fall Creek Township, Madison County, near Pendleton. It is a medium-security prison. As of 2019, the prison housed 1,471 inmates, and employed 307 staff. Constructed in 1985, CIF formerly housed the Indiana Department of Correction's PEN food products plant. However, the food products plant was replaced by a brake refurbishing factory in partnership with the industrial company Meritor, which is the largest employer of offenders in the facility. Wendy Knight is the current Warden of CIF.

The Fall Creek Meeting House is a historic Quaker meeting house located approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Pendleton, Indiana, United States, on State Road 38 in Fall Creek Township, Madison County, Indiana.

The Pendleton Correctional Facility, formerly known as the Indiana Reformatory, is a state prison located in Fall Creek Township, Madison County, near Pendleton and about 25 miles (40 km) northeast of Indianapolis. Established in 1923, it was built to replace the Indiana State Reformatory located in Jeffersonville after a fire severely damaged the original property. The Pendleton facility currently offers maximum and minimum-security housing for adult males over 22 years old. The maximum-security portion is made up of 31 acres (130,000 m2) surrounded by a concrete wall. It has an average daily population of approximately 1,650 inmates. [1] Located on the grounds outside the enclosure, the minimum-security dormitory holds approximately 200 prisoners on a daily basis.

The Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility is a maximum-security Indiana Department of Corrections prison for juvenile males between the ages of 12 and one minute before they turn 22. The facility is located in Fall Creek Township, Madison County, southwest of Pendleton. The campus-style facility has an average daily population of 245 males. The Pendleton Facility was established in 2000 with the purpose of "preparing young men for re-entry into society with the necessary skills to avoid further criminal behavior."
